Chapter 12 - Diviner's council

By the time I and Aaron were done with our homework, I had finished arranging my books, as I waited patiently for my to announce dinner,

I heard a notification sound as the screen popped out,

I looked at the notification; I was a little bit surprised. It meant I wasn't the only system wielder alive.

I wanted to open it, but it needed ten mc to open, I was a little bit resistant, I can't tend to waste the little MC I have on a stupid message from someone who is barely know,

"Rowan, the message had been paid for by the sender" Edith's voice rang in my head,

I smiled as I clicked on the message,

The message was a little bit short, but I don't know this person.

I haven't heard of the Diviner's Council. Did Elder Elowen ever mention anything about the Diviner's Council to me, or maybe it is a secret society?

"Rowan, is time for dinner" m yelled from downstairs, I rushed downstairs trying to wave the message from my head, I can't trust this person, he may be lying or be an imposter,

I kept giving myself excuses why I shouldn't go, but the people needed me and this important message may save lives, I checked my mc bonus, and as I munched my food slowly it was only 1500mc I had, but with the level two breathing sword, I possess it may be possible for me to fight if the person is an imposter.

"Rowan, what's wrong?" Luna asked me as I looked up, to see Luna looking at me, Mom and Mr. Darien were also looking at me,

"Nothing" I replied bluntly as I continued eating my food,

"I saw your hand movement, it was as though you were scrolling through a screen," Luna said, have she been looking at me all this while, I asked in my mind,

"Oh, it's not something important just fantasizing about the movie I had watched," I said trying to ignore mom gaze I know she was trying to ascertain what was wrong,

After eating to my fill, everyone was done by then; I helped Luna pack up the plates and clear the dining table, and we then retired to our various rooms.

I was in my room, as I lay my bed, waiting for everyone to sleep, before I headed out to the land of Fargo,

"Edith, can you show me the map of the world and the pinpointed Fargo on it?" I commanded, almost immediately the screen popped out again, showing the map of the five clans.

And from what I was seeing the city of Fargo was at the clan of Time,

I decided to go since it was someone from the clan of time that was summoning me.

After waiting for an hour it seemed to me everyone was now asleep, then I asked Edith to give me my sword as the sword appeared in my hands, I had to be ready to strike, in case it was an enemy,

"Edith, teleport me to the pinpointed place shown on the map,", I asked, but wouldn't Lucius feel my energy? I asked myself.

"No sir, the system hides your aura" Edith said as though she were reading my thoughts, I nodded my head as a portal opened up,

I was at least expecting to disappear and appear at the spot,

"Sir, this is cheaper than the other method, that's why I chose it", Edith said; again, she had replied to my thoughts.

The other end of the portal was dark, I breathed in as I walked passed through the portal, clenching my hands on my sword, ready to attack if I noticed any foul play.

I passed through the portal into this dark place, it seemed to me it was a cave but everything was just dark, with my level two breathing sword I could produce light,

"Light", I said as the light emitted from my sword; the system made magic easier for me, not to have to start learning strange words.

I held up my sword, high as I could see a figure approach me slowly.

"You know, if I wanted you dead, you'd be dead by now, so no need for the weapon", I heard the voice of the figure say as he came closer to where I stood.

He flickered his fingers as everywhere became bright; the source of light was a small fire, or should I say, a mini sun.

"At least I die leaving a scar on your face," I said boldly as I pointed my sword at the old man, with wrinkles all over his face, the rest of his body covered with a long brown robe.

"I love, your courage," he said as I stood putting his hands behind his back,

"Am Thomas, head councillor of the Ex Diviner's council," he said, I felt a little bit realized as I quit my fighting stance,

"So you are a system wielder," I asked trying to ascertain,

"Yeah, all members of the Diviner's council are wielders of a system,", he said, answering my question as I noticed his body wasn't moving. It was only his robe that flapped with rhyme with the flow of the breeze.

"Okay, so why haven't I heard of the Diviner's council" I asked, in curiosity,

"It's a secret cult that helps the Diviner carry specific missions, each Diviner must have its council, and since they don't bear many abilities, systems are assigned to them to improve their abilities," he said, I felt like throwing more questions before he said,

"I didn't summon you here so that I would be questioned"

"I summoned you here to inform you of a great danger ahead. Lucius is planning an attack on the clan of time manipulators,", He said as a flush of breeze blew past us.

"Wow this is so soon, never expected to be fighting with Lucius so soon" I said.
