Chapter 33 - Chapter 33 — Seeking Miracles

As soon as Jason saw the rows of words appear on the system screen, he almost instantly summoned the sprite pupils.

"Oh shit!!" he cussed following the switch in his vision.

Currently floating above them was a Malevolent. However unlike the first one he encountered, this one had a different appearance. Although it appeared like a regular human with flowing red hair touching their waist and a curvy feminine body, Jason noticed that a snow white ice hockey face mask made out from bones.

However unlike regular hockey masks, this one had a pointy chin and in the place of the holes at the lower region were sharp rows of fangs. From within the two empty holes that were supposed to be eyes were two glowing crimson wisps of light.

Currently the ectoplasmic aura wrapped around the Malevolent was brimming causing the air around it to constrict as an icy chill pervaded the atmosphere. However what brought Jason even more goosebumps was the actions of the Malevolent.

 Whrrrilll!!!

Jason's pupils constricted when he saw the tennis sized Spirit Gun technique gradually taking shape.

"G--Guys!" he barely had time to warn the siblings who were completely oblivious when the Spirit Gun finally took form, catapulting towards their vehicle.

 Boom!!!

The Siblings finally felt something amiss when they heard the explosion of air waves caused by the velocity of the high speed moving Spirit Gun

 Bang!

The crimson orb landed on the asphalt road in front of them, creating an intense cloud of smoke as the rebound force of the collision created a deep crater on the ground while the vehicle got thrown in the air, spinning around like a top before slamming back on the ground as it commenced the rolling sequence.

At that moment, Jason could felt something that he hadn't felt since the death of his father..

 Fear.. Despair.. Anger!

He was scared that this was the end of the road for him.. Despair that he couldn't succeed in his mission to find the demon responsible for his father's death and have his vengeance.

Anger! Anger at the fact that he was going to die a completely useless death. Dying at the hands of the demon who killed his father was acceptable..

But dying from a car crash?! what kind of nonsense joke was the universe playing on him?!!!

At that moment, Jason's strongest emotion was this anger. He wasn't scared of dying.. just angry at the kind of mediocre way his death was going to occur.

"Huh?" at first Jason was blinded by this rage and regrets.

However when he finally cleared his head, he noticed that the excruciating pain he was anticipating didn't arrive.

"I didn't die?" he stuttered in confusion as he unconsciously glanced towards his wrist.

And that was when he saw it!

Currently, a blue flame like energy coated his wrist. Scanning his eyes, he soon gasped in shock when he noticed that this blue flame like energy extended to all parts of his body.

If an outsider who had the Sprite Pupils saw this scene, they would be shocked to notice that the current Jason seemed to be completely coated in this blue flame like energy... Like the Human Torch from Marvel comics, except instead of orange flames, this one was blue in color..

In the time that it took for Jason to realize the presence of this unknown but well timed blue flame like energy coating his body, the vehicle had finally come to a stop.

About three of its doors had already flown out of its hinges, while its exterior was currently damaged beyond repair, literally reduced to nothing but scrap metals.

Floating in the air above the damages vehicle, the Malevolent responsible coldly harrumphed in satisfaction when she witnessed the ruin she caused.

"He must be dead already. There's no way a regular human can endure my Spirit Gun attack" the Malevolent muttered, feeling lazy to confirm for herself.

Giving the ruined car one last look, a burst of ecto aura exploded from her feet, propelling her into the air like a rocket launcher as she disappeared from sight.

Jason was still in shock at the presence of the bizzare energy coated around his body when he suddenly felt something wet and sticky drop on cheeks.

Wiping if off with his thumb, the strong iron smell of blood immediately hit his nose.

"No. No. No" realization Immediately dawned on him as he noticed a bulky body hanging from above him. A sharp shrapnel from the damaged car sticking out from their chest as blood dripped down like a rain drizzle.

 "S-Stephen?!"

However the current Stephen was nothing but a cold corpse with a sharpnel sticking out from his chest.

Unconsciously tilting his head sideways, a chill crept up on Jason's bones when he saw Aletta's head bashed against the windscreen of the car, her face and various parts of her body dripping with a large amount of blood as sharp pieces of glass sticked out from several parts of her body.

 She was dead as well!!!

Peach Blossom was a nice small town. However considering the unique location of the town, it was known as a kind of checkpoint for travellers. Perhaps for unknown reasons, the town residents retained an ancient type of lifestyle. There was not a single hotel or motel in the whole of the small town, except for about three to five inns.

However although the settlers of the small town were hardly up to five hundred, the five Inns never lacked a steady stream of customers, ranging from weary travellers to even tourists.

 That was because apart from the unique location of the small town, there was another winning point.. some considered this a rumor that the locals fabricated to attract tourists but the rumor went as thus;

Living within the small town of Peach Blossom was a mysterious man who had the ability to cure any and all kinds of illnesses ranging from ordinary flu to even deadly ones like cancer, leukemia and even AIDS!

Hell, some of the rumors even went as far to claim that this mysterious man could bring back the dead, as long as they were not dead for more than twelve hours!

Although these rumors sounded farfetched and too good to be true, there was a popular saying; as Inquisitive as a Cat..

However, the Inquisitiveness of the cat was nothing when compared to that of the human populace.

So although, these rumors sounded unrealistic and more like stories told from a children fantasy book, that didn't stop people from trooping into the town to experience the ability of this miracle doctor for themselves.

Currently, Jason was part of these miracle seeking group. He had no choice but to hope that these rumors were legit.

Following the death of Aletta and Stephen, he had made a stop at this particular town to purchase some coffins. Although these coffins were of the lowest quality, Jason felt it was a much better choice than burning the siblings on a pyre and watch them turn into ashes.

Although the siblings claimed this was the kind of funeral beffiting Mystique Hunters like them, Jason didn't give a shit.

Their words no longer held any weight considering they were already dead. It wasn't like they were going to leap up from the dead and beat him up for giving them a proper twenty first century burial.

However while purchasing the coffins, he overheard the rumors regarding the Mysterious Miracle Doctor!
