Victor clenched his fists, the burning sensation of the mark on his palm a constant reminder of his precarious situation.
Elyra, the spectral guide, stopped abruptly, her translucent form glowing faintly in the dim light. "We are close," she said, her voice soft but resolute. "But the path ahead is fraught with danger."
