Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Helluva Spell

Magic was insanely overpowered. I mean just from the only spell I could learn right now it was ridiculous.

"Will strength Spell.

This spell will help anyone studying Will magic unlock their willpower. This willpower will allow you to use it to perform magic. To perform this spell you must etch the symbol below on a surface and then give it your will.

In doing so your willpower will be unlocked. The benefits of willpower are many. The main ones being the use of Will magic and physical attribute increases. And from the point willpower is unlocked your physical attributes will continue to improve slowly."

Just the basic effects are ridiculous, all physical attributes improved! Now it makes me even more jealous that only Leviathan can read the other spells right now. That's because he was the one who got knowledge on the languages.

What's more important is that for now I learn how to perform this spell. So I draw the same symbol that was on the front of the book, and is now on the back of my hand.

It doesn't take long to scratch the symbol for brimstone into one of the multiple tables in the library. Then I place my hand on it willing it to work. Only for nothing to happen. No glowing no nothing. So I tried again. Only to get the same result.

To break my concentration further I heard my stomach growl. Reminding me I haven't eaten in about a day now. So I needed to go out and get some food.

Opting to not try my luck in hells garbage. I decided instead to rob a house. Is it ethical? No. But When is anything in hell cared about ethics?

"So your going from robbing bodies to houses now?" Asked Leviathan in a mocking tone.

"Oh shut it Levi. I'm already told you I didn't choose to be a body snatcher. Nor would I want to be in literal hell." I reply to his comment.

"Don't you fucking dare call me …Levi… again. My name is Leviathan and you will use it. Otherwise." My hand then clenches into a fist and won't relax.

"Neat trick" I say and force my control into my hand back. Then I move on out ignoring the cussing my partner in crime is directing at me.

I need to get food anyway. So I leave my temporary home and move into the streets. The bright green sky and dilapidated buildings are just the same as before, if a little bit darker.

It doesn't take me long before I'm stopped by a hand on my shoulder. I immediately lash out at the person cutting thier wrist with my nails. I then hear a deep voice scream out in pain behind me.

"Fucking hell! What are you staring at get him!"

"Just my luck" I mutter as two imps and a shark man surround me.

"I knew going into this alley was a bad idea." I hear as the thin shark man in front of me throws a punch.

"Not now!" I mentally reply back.

I quickly duck the straight punch, only to get clocked by one of the imps. I react by biting the still outstretched imp arm. That lets me get in close and grab thier horns. I quickly twist and snap their neck.

One down three to go. I then get a knife to the back, curtesy of the second imp. I turn around and quickly bite down into the imps neck until I hear it snap.

I felt the other two trying to punch and pry me away as I bit down on the imp. Sadly for them it was too late. And now they had my attention.

I saw two shark men one tall and skinny with a knife, the other round and medium height. His wrist was still bleeding.

"G-get him!" The fat boss yells to his lakey.

As he rushes towards me with a knife I throw one of the imp corpses at him. Once he's distracted I pounce on top of him and claw one of his eyes. Then immediately leap onto the other shark man.

To surprised to react I tear through his gills with my claws. I then turn away to finish the final one, only to find them running away.

"Not worth the effort." I mutter to myself. Hearing the dying gurgle of the shark man below me.

"Agreed." I hear in the back of my head.

I then stumble slightly at the pain radiating from my back. I can't quite reach for the knife either. So for now I have to continue on with my mission. I need to eat.

I leave not looking back at the corpses, lest I do something I regret. Though my hunger urges me otherwise.

For now I focus on looking for a rich bastard to rob. It's not like their going to miss some food and bandages. Then pain shoots through my back again. Annoying but I haven't been stabbed in the back before, must have nicked a nerv.

The alleys seem to blend together as I walk. Eventually leading to a brightly lit house on top of a hill.

"Bingo." I tell the world, as I move toward the house.

It takes a few minutes to fully climb up the hill. Particularly due to the painful knife still stuck in my back. But I managed to make it there anyways.

I did find the place lightly guarded though. Nothing to much. Just a few imps and shark men patrolling with guns. They looked distracted and apathetic. So this shouldn't be a too difficult heist.

I first watch the routs the guards take. Only to find they really don't have a rotation. That lets me easily sneak in. I do have some trouble navigating to the kitchen though.

Once I arrive my mouth starts watering at the amount of food I can see. I'm slightly distracted by the pain radiating from my back, but move forward anyway. Food was more important.

It doesn't take long before I've completely ravaged all the fresh food. Most of it was even uncooked. I didn't care because I knew a hounds stomach's could take much worse.

Then I hear a faint footstep behind me. I quickly turn around only to find a cast iron pan in my face.

"PANG!" The noise rattling through my skull, making me see stars for a moment. I quickly shake the stars out my vision and turn to look at my attacker. Only to get another face full of cast iron pan. After that everything goes dark.
