Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: The First Shadow of the Club

If you want to gain a foothold in the Dai family, you must show your real ability.

After the banquet, Dai Shiya and Wei Qing walked out of the "Ye Lan" club side by side.

"Shiya, are you okay?" Wei Qing asked worriedly. She keenly noticed that Dai Shiya was in a low mood.

"It's okay. What could possibly happen to me?" Dai Shiya forced a smile. "I was just wondering who was behind what happened tonight."

"Do you suspect Dai Qiang?"

"Who else could it be except him?" Dai Shiya's eyes flashed with a cold light, "He has always regarded me as a thorn in his side, and he can't wait for me to get out of the Dai family."

"So what are you going to do?"

Dai Shiya was silent for a moment, with a hint of determination in her eyes: "I will find out the truth about this matter, and then..."

She paused, took out her cell phone from her handbag, and dialed a number: "Help me check something..."

It was late at night, and the neon lights of the city were tinged with a layer of cold light in Dai Shiya's eyes. Wei Qing's words echoed in her ears. She knew that if she wanted to gain a foothold in a wealthy family, it was far from enough to rely on intelligence and talent alone. She also needed enough patience and skills.

The next morning, Dai Shiya contacted a private detective agency. She knew that some things could not be relied on the family's time, otherwise it would only alert the enemy. The private detective was very efficient and handed the investigation results to Dai Shiya in just one day.

"It's him." Dai Shiya looked at the contents of the report, her eyes gradually becoming sharper. The report showed that the negative rumors about her were first spread by an employee of Dai Qiang's company, and this employee had always had a close relationship with Dai Qiang.

"Want to play, right? Then I'll play with you." Dai Shiya curled her lips into a sneer, her eyes flashing with a determined light.

In the next few days, Dai Shiya seemed to have changed. She was no longer as sharp as before, but was very flustered and at a loss. She deliberately exposed herself in front of Dai Qiang, making him mistakenly believe that her plan had succeeded.

"Shi Ya, how have you been lately?" Dai Qiang pretended to be concerned, but his eyes were full of pride.

"Brother Qiang, I..." Dai Shiya hesitated, her face full of anxiety and uneasiness, "I keep hearing some bad rumors about me recently, I'm worried..."

"Don't worry, those are just rumors, don't take them to heart." Dai Qiang pretended to be calm and comforted her, but he was actually very happy in his heart.

"But..." Dai Shiya bit her lip, looking like she was about to cry, "I'm really scared, I don't know what to do..."

"Don't worry, I will help you." Dai Qiang patted her shoulder, a hint of viciousness flashed in his eyes, "I will find out the truth about this matter and give you an explanation."

Dai Shiya lowered her head to hide the coldness in her eyes. She knew that Dai Qiang had completely fallen into her trap, and now she would just wait for him to suffer the consequences.

A few days later, the Dai Group held a family meeting to discuss the company's future development direction. Dai Shiya knew that her chance had come. She sorted out her emotions, took a deep breath, and walked into the meeting room with a steady pace...

In the magnificent conference room, the long table was filled with members of the Dai family, and the atmosphere was solemn and depressing. Dai Shiya's arrival was like a stone thrown into a calm lake, causing ripples.

Everyone looked at him with different expressions, some with contempt, some with suspicion, and some with expectation. Dai Qiang sat on the other side of the table, with a smug smile on his face, as if he had foreseen Dai Shiya's defeat.

Dai Shiya looked calm, walked to her seat and sat down without looking around, completely ignoring those scrutinizing and hostile eyes. She calmly opened the file in front of her, as if she was unaware of the coming storm.

"My dear uncles, I have an important announcement today." Dai Shiya's clear voice rang out in the conference room, instantly attracting everyone's attention. She raised her head and looked around with a firm gaze, finally landing on Dai Qiang.

"In recent times, I have suffered some malicious slander and attacks. After my investigation, I found that these things were deliberately planned by someone behind the scenes." Dai Shiya's voice was not loud, but it was clearly heard by everyone.

Dai Qiang's smile froze slightly, and he felt a little uneasy, but he quickly suppressed the uneasiness. He pretended to be surprised and asked, "Oh? There is such a thing? Who is so bold as to dare to touch the emperor's head?"

Dai Shiya ignored Dai Qiang's hypocrisy, threw a document on the table, and said in a cold tone: "Take a look for yourself."

The document contained all the evidence Dai Shiya had collected over the past few days, including the employee's testimony and the recording of Dai Qiang instructing him to spread rumors. The evidence was irrefutable.

There was an uproar in the conference room, and everyone's eyes on Dai Qiang suddenly changed. Dai Qiang's face turned pale, and beads of sweat oozed from his forehead. He never thought that the conspiracy he had carefully planned would be so easily resolved by Dai Shiya.

"You...you are slandering me!" Dai Qiang argued loudly, but his voice was obviously lacking in confidence.

Dai Shiya didn't say anything, but just looked at him coldly, her eyes full of ridicule and disdain.

At this time, the family elder who had remained silent finally spoke.

"That's enough!" A low shout suppressed the noise in the conference room, "Dai Qiang, do you have anything else to say?"

Dai Qiang opened his mouth but couldn't say anything. He knew that he was completely screwed this time.

Dai Shiya looked at Dai Qiang's miserable appearance, but she didn't feel any joy in her heart. She knew that this was just the first step, and she would face more severe challenges next.

At this moment, she was more worried about those family members who had originally remained neutral. Would they still believe in her?

As night fell, Dai Shiya drove to a quiet teahouse. She picked up her phone and dialed a number...
