And then when I slept, I would always get these strange dreams. At first, I thought they were normal dreams every healthy human had when they slept deeply.
But then they occurred every single night. And I don't dream. So how did I suddenly go from zero dreams a night to at least one every single time I went to sleep?
I honestly didn't care that I had started dreaming at first. I mean, yeah it was strange but so what? A few dreams didn't hurt anyone.
Then I started getting the weird ones which seemed to quickly escalate to grotesque, more alarming dreams.
The first time it happened, I avoided sleeping.
Which worked for a day or two, but then well, it's not like I could spend the rest of my life awake. Especially when I already felt like trash after only trying it out for two days, so I slept again.
This time when I dreamt, I comforted myself by saying they were just dreams. Some that made me wonder what in the world my brain could come up, but dreams regardless.
And then I saw it.
All the self comforting words vanished subsequently as my world got flipped around.
