The morning light filtering through Scarle's window, which casts soft rays across her room. She hadn't slept, but she was exhausted from the weight of questions pressing on her mind. Daman's words haunted her, she had been "choosen," he said. But chosen for what? And why?
She swung her legs off the bed. She knew her brothers wouldn't answer her questions directly, she'd have to find on her own. Every word and every glance, they all carried hidden meanings, of their motives. She had to stay alert if she wanted to uncover the truth.
After freshening up, she goes downstairs, where she heard voices coming from the dining room. As she entered, she noticed Daman and Maddon sitting at the table, both looking up as she approached. The stares were almost suffocating, and for a moment, she hesitated.
"Good morning, Scarle," Maddon greeted her, his tone was neutral but his eyes were piercing. "Sleep well?"
Scarle forced a smile, keeping her voice gentle. "As well as one could, in this place."
Daman chuckle. "Always the sharp tongue. I admire your attitude."
Ignoring his comment, Scarle took a seat at the far end of the table, putting as much distance as she could between herself and her brothers. "Why am I here?" she asked, cutting straight to the point. Her voice was firm, though her hands trembled slightly under the table.
Maddon exchanged a glance with Daman, a silent conversation was going between them. Finally, Maddon leaned forward, resting his elbows resting on the table. "You keep asking that question, Scarle. But I think you already know the answer."
Frustration bubbles up inside her. "No, I don't. All I know is that I've been taken away from my life and held here against my will. That's not something I'm willing to accept without an explanation."
Daman smirked, his eyes glows. "You think everything in life comes with a clear answer? Sometimes, things are simply… meant to be."
Scarle sees in his eyes, unwilling to let him sidetrack her. "I don't believe in fate. I believe in choices. And I didn't want to be here."
Daman shrug, as if her words were like consequence. "Maybe not. But choices have been made for you. And resisting them will only make things harder."
Scarle clenched her fists. "If you think I'm just going to accept this, you're wrong."
Maddon's gaze soften, a unique hint of something flickers in his eyes. "You're strong, But strength can be a double-edged sword. It can keep you safe… or it can destroy you."
Scarle met his gaze head-on. "Then I'll take that risk."
A tense silence spread in the room. Before she could press further, Kier entered the room, his presence was heavy even in silence. He glanced between Scarle and his brothers, assessing the tension in the air with his gaze.
"Am I interrupting something?" he asked, his tone was smooth and composed.
Daman leaned back in his chair, with a smirk. "Scarle was just asking us why she's here."
Kier's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze hardens. "And what answer did you give her?"
Maddon's voice was low, almost a whisper. "The only one we could."
Kier nodded, his eyes never leaving Scarle. She felt his stare, as if he was trying to peel back and read her thoughts.
After a moment, he spoke, in a calm way. "Perhaps it's time we showed her."Scarle's heart skipped a beat, her heart race with curiosity.
They ltake her down a series of hallways, Scarle kept close behind Kier, her pulse quickens with every step. Daman and Maddon followed, their presence feels like a silent reminder of the power they held. She feels like a lamb being led to the slaughter.
Finally, they stopped in front of a large door. Kier turned to her, his expression was unreadable. "What you're about to see may be… difficult to understand. But I need you to keep an open mind."
Scarle swallowed hard, nodding despite her fear. "I'll try."
Kier open the door, revealing a room unlike any she had seen before. It was filled with strange artifacts, old books stacked on shelves, and paintings that seemed to watch her. The air was thick with a mysterious energy, a feeling that scared her.
"What… is this place?" she whispers.
Daman stepped forward. "This is the heart of our family's legacy, Scarle. This is the place where all secrets are kept hidden."
Scarle glanced around, the strange symbols carved into the walls. She felt as though she had stepped into another world, a place where the boundaries between reality and fantasy fades.
Maddon moved to stand beside her, his eyes fixed on a large, ancient book resting on a pedestal in the center of the room. "Our family has a… unique history," he said quietly. "One that you are now a part of."
Scarle's mind struggles to process his words. "What do you mean?"
Kier expression was serious. "Our family has always been… different. We have certain abilities, certain powers that have been passed down through generations. And you, Scarle, possess a piece of that power."
Scarle feel, a mixture of disbelief and curiosity in their words "You think I have… powers?"
Daman gave a dark smile playing on his lips. "Not in the way you're thinking. But there is something inside you, something that drew us to you. A potential that we want to unlock."
Scarle took a step back, her mind spinning. She had always felt different pull towards the strange and unusual. But she never imagined that it could be something real. Something that others could sense and manipulate.
"This is insane," she whispered, her voice trembles. "You're all insane."
Maddon's gaze softened, his voice was soft. "You may not believe it now, but you will after some time."
Scarle shakes her head, backing away from them. "No. I didn't ask for this. I don't want to become any part of it."
Kier's voice was calm. "It's not a choice, Scarle. You're one of us, whether you like it or not."
She was trapped, bound to these brothers by a force she didn't understand, a legacy of she had never asked for. And no matter how much she fought, she couldn't escape the reality that had been thrust upon her.
For the first time, she feels the true depth of her entanglement with her brothers. They were her brothers. How can they? It wasn't just a physical captivity, it was a bond that went beyond the confines of this house, a connection that tied her to them in ways she couldn't imagine.
Scarle took a deep breath. She wasn't ready to accept their truth, but she knew that she had to play along, to gather information as quickly as possible. She would uncover every secret they held and unravel every piece of their history, until she found a way to break free.
Whatever it took, she would escape this fate.
