"Oh my darling, you have such a huge space here " Layla opened her hands in the air walking step after step towards him with a paper bag in the left hand
"What are you doing here?" He frowned in returned as he has never had any of his ladies in his office maybe except one or two and that was when he had to work late at night
"Are you not happy to see me, Mi amor" Layla moved closer to him as she smiled to his face and dropped the paper bag on his desk
"I. Said. What. Are. You. Doing. Here?" Adrian looked into her eyes as he mentioned every word
"I was just around the office and decided to get you lunch" Layla responded as she adjusted his tie and dusted off invisible dust off his tux
"Get out of my office Layla!" He should quietly as he pointed to the door, not like Adrian dislike Layla or have had any pending issue with her but Layla is a bit of a tough meat to chew. With his intention to Marry Jasmine, it is better to lay Layla off the earliest. Honestly, If she hadn't come, he might have not even thought of her but now that she is her, he is taking good use of the opportunity
"You say what?" "Baby, you know I am going nowhere, it is Me. And. You .For. Life". She laughed out loud as pointed to them both, she brought out the burger and cheese from the paper bag
"Layla…" he took two steps towards her "Get out" he added
"What does that even mean" she chuckled as she took a bit from the burger
" I don't care how your level of understanding comprehends what I just said but I mean it! Get out Now!"
"Adrian, you better don't dare me" She held his face in her palm
"Layla i will call the cops on you right now " his anger increases
"You are not kidding? Do you mean I get out of the office or you aredone with me?" With his face still in her palm, she looked straight in his eyes
"Oh gracious, I am done with everything about you" He blinked continually and she releases his face
"You don't want to regret it, do you? after everything I have done for you Adrian, you always got so many girls around but I stood with you, you told me you don't like your girl clingy, I adjusted myself emotionally, mentally, physically just to fit in with your unrealistic type of girl and now you say?" she said as she smiled sarcastically looking at food.
Adrian walked to his seat without giving her a response,
"Walk her out" He spoke to the intercom
"I heard about your new girl, she is pretty by the way. She is worth you ending things with me. Prettier, sexier and even closer to you but Adrian! You better don't regret it" she retained her full smiles as she walked out
Jasmine looked into the mirror by the wash basin while washing her hands, she looked straight into her eyes and she looked lost while the tap kept running . The loud forceful splashing water worked as her background music for her as she thought, Just two days after meeting Adrian ,her life has become so confusing, she has broken her personal values, she is falling for a stranger she is working for, a stranger takes her mind over her sister, he kissed a man she just met. Jasmine is not sure how this is going, he hasn't even asked her to be his girlfriend, their relationship hasn't been defined. Is she overthinking it because her last relationship which ended two years ago went through these processes? Is this the new trend of relationships? Adrian is such an irresistible gentle man but it's been just two days isn't that too early to depict?
"Are you okay?" Jasmine faintly head a voice but she wasn't sure what that was, she continued with her thought. Or is this a bet? She became conscious of her environment when the sound of the running tap stopped
"Oh! Sorry about that" she made consciously without being specific who she is talking to
"It is fine, I have been trying to get you back to earth, Are you okay?" Penny asked her
It was Penelope, the HR junior staff she shares desk with, She is a beautiful girl tall with her purple hair, she seemed friendly from when Jasmine first saw her but they haven't had any conversation.
"Oh! Yeah I am fine, just some family issues" she lied, she obviously can't tell her she was thinking of a man she just met two days ago.
"Be good" Penny laid her hand on Jasmine shoulder as she entered into the the toilet.
That is odd, we aren't even that close, is she trying to get close to me. She seems friendly but not be a big deal I might be overthinking it.
"Seems your boyfriend sent you a package, you have a gift on your desk" Penny voiced from the enclosed toilet.
"Thank. You" Jasmine responded incoherently as she in shock by what she just heard and couldn't find the right word.
Why would Adrian send a gift right here at work? Is he making us public?
She walked excitedly towards her desk, from inches away she could see a mini purple box with a huge transport ballon over it seated on her desk.
How did he know my favourite colour?
She checked around the box for letter but none was there, the huge ball on didn't imprint any words on it.
She opened the box and nothing but a knife soaked in blood.
