Chapter 90 - Chapter 90: Is This A Wild Beast?

A fit and muscular woman charged straight at Old 0, her expression fierce and determined.

Clearly, she was an Enhancer-type Nen user.

A powerful concentration of aura gathered around her fist, radiating with an intense, dazzling glow. Her aura formed a glove-like shape over her hand, shimmering with lethal potential.

Seeing this technique, Old O couldn't help but recall his previous fights—especially his battle against Zeno and Kaizen, as well as that devastating clash with Raiken's fist.

It was in that brutal encounter with Raiken that Old O had lost his arm. He hadn't expected Raiken to wield such terrifying power.

"Hmph," Old O snorted, unimpressed.

"She's just an Enhancer." His voice dripped with contempt. "And she thinks she can threaten me?"

Aura surged to Old O's legs as he prepared to strike. In an instant, he vanished.

The woman barely had time to blink before Old O reappeared behind her. Startled, she spun around—too late.

"Magma!"

A searing jet of molten lava shot toward her head, engulfing it completely.

Boom!

Her face was instantly scorched, the intense heat burning through her skin and blinding her eyes and nose. The pain was overwhelming.

Old O, short in stature but deadly precise, stepped forward. His fist, encased in magma, drove into the woman's abdomen with devastating force.

Boom!

The punch pierced her gut, sending blood splattering across the ground.

"Trash."

With a sneer, Old O withdrew his hand, glancing at her lifeless body before looking away in disinterest.

The other members of the Wild Beasts watched in horror. Their expressions darkened as the reality of their situation sank in.

Meanwhile, across the battlefield, Old K had already pinned one of the Wild Beasts beneath his boot. In the blink of an eye, the Wild Beasts' numbers had dropped by two. Only ten of them remained now.

In stark contrast, the Kute Gang had taken no losses at all, demonstrating the wide gap in power between the two groups.

Even though the Wild Beasts were the most elite force under the elders of Meteor City, they still fell short when compared to the Kute Gang.

The Kute Gang was composed of criminals from across the globe. Each member had acted alone at first, earning S-rank bounties independently. But when the four of them joined forces, they became a nightmare for anyone who crossed their path.

As it stood, the Kute Gang were one of the most dangerous criminal organizations in the world.

A young man wielding a knife charged at Old K, his eyes sharp with determination. But Old K remained motionless, calm and unbothered.

Just before the knife-wielding man could reach him, a figure blocked his path—a creature with a grotesque, savage appearance.

This was Old K's Nen Beast, its monstrous form embodying the same bestial aura that both Old K and Kaizen embraced in their techniques.

The Nen Beast roared and hurled a powerful punch toward the attacker.

The young man raised his knife just in time, blocking the blow.

Boom!

The impact was deafening, but the young man smirked.

"Now, it's my turn."

This man was a Specialization-type Nen user. His knife wasn't just a weapon—it was his Nen ability, capable of absorbing attacks and unleashing them back at the enemy with double the force.

With a wicked grin, the young man slashed at the Nen Beast, channeling the absorbed power into his strike.

Slash!

A deep gash tore across the Nen Beast's body.

"Got you," the young man whispered triumphantly.

But as he stepped forward, ready to finish Old K with another slash, he noticed something unsettling.

The gash on the Nen Beast was healing—quickly. Within moments, the wound vanished, leaving no trace.

Before the young man could react, the Nen Beast lunged forward and clamped its jaws around his neck.

Rip!

Flesh and blood sprayed everywhere as the beast tore through him. The young man's lifeless body crumpled to the ground, eyes wide with disbelief.

Nearby, a middle-aged man's body began to contort and swell. His muscles bulged unnaturally, and patches of white and black fur sprouted across his skin. His transformation gave him the appearance of a beast, though he still stood upright like a human.

"Roar!"

The man let out a deafening roar, his animalistic instincts fully awakened.

Old U raised an eyebrow, his expression calm but intrigued.

"Not bad. This must be an Animal-type ability."

With a flick of his finger, Old U sent a drop of water shooting toward the man at high speed.

Pfft!

The water bullet hit the beast-man's heart. But to Old U's surprise, the man barely flinched and continued his advance.

"Hmm. Took a hit to the heart and kept moving?" Old U mused. "Does the heart not matter, or... does he have more than one?"

He sighed, slightly annoyed.

"Either way, it's pointless."

As the beast-man closed in, water on the ground surged upward, wrapping around his limbs like ropes. More water flowed in, encasing his entire body in a liquid prison.

The beast-man thrashed and struggled, but the water held firm, drowning his strength.

Though powerful, the man's ability was perfectly countered by Old U's control over water. There was no way for him to escape.

The beast-man's face turned red as he fought to breathe, his struggles growing weaker. Eventually, he passed out, his limp body floating in the watery cage.

With a casual gesture, Old U dispersed the water, though a thin stream remained, seeping into the man's body.

"Ah, I see now," Old U muttered, a knowing smile creeping across his face. "You've got three hearts. No wonder you survived that first hit."

He shook his head.

"Well, that's disappointing. I thought you'd put up more of a fight."

In the distance, a woman with a rifle took aim, providing cover fire for the remaining Wild Beasts. She pulled the trigger, intent on disrupting the Kute Gang.

But the moment she fired, a sapling shot up from the ground beneath her.

Pfft!

The sapling pierced through her torso, its roots spreading rapidly inside her body.

The woman's eyes widened in shock, her limbs twitching uncontrollably as the life drained from her.

Old T glanced at her dispassionately before turning his attention elsewhere.

"Annoying," he muttered. "Like a fly."
