Chapter 1 - News

"I'm pregnant," Were the words that stuck to me. They were the last words I heard before I got into a car accident while facetiming my girlfriend while coming back from work and they were the first words I heard from my, apparently, new girlfriend in another world! I just got transmigrated only to hear the same words again.

"Are you sure?" I asked the girl seated on my bed looking at me longingly. She was young, apparently 16 years old while I was seventeen years old in this new life but it was still strange having a girl so young tell me she was pregnant with my child!

"I had the Academy's physician confirm it and I am truly pregnant," she answered me, quite hesitantly. I could understand her, most men's first thought in this situation is to either deny or just straight up run from the girl. I went an extra mile and just died when I received the news!

I looked at the girl carefully and I had to admit, she was quite a looker. A head full of red hair, hypnotic green eyes, fully red lips, a nose that looked to be shaped by a master sculptor and a face you could get lost on and not to mention her body of a seductress. I had to mentally bonk myself severally because she was looking delicious at the moment. I cleared my throat as I got out of my bed, trying as much as possible not to think with little Alex.

"Are you keeping it?" I asked her and she looked at me expectantly so I guess removing the child was not an option. "What about your parents? Have you told them?"

In this new world, I was apparently an orphan who got lucky and was employed in an Academy filled with children of aristocrats. At age seven, both my parents died when two Arch-Magis decided to duke it out. Arch-Magis were like demi gods in the regard that even their simple spells could change an ecosystem for eternity. Suffice to say, even my parent's ashes were never found! Yeah, this world was that kind of dangerous! After living in the streets till I was eleven, a kind enough Magi brought me to the academy and I became its servant, getting paid 100 copper coins ever month, which was highway robbery, not that I could complain to a man that could sneeze my entire bloodline out of existence. I did get food and boarding for free so that was a plus.

"My parents would kill me if they knew I got pregnant to a servant boy," she said, looking horrified.

That was the truth, in this world, talent and power would determine your status. Former me was so untalented that even being a servant of this academy was deemed quite a waste of space for me! This Academy was called the Durkstene Academy and it was for the Aristocrats to send their spawns to get taught by the best of the best in the Empire all about being Magis and Knights.

It was also where these bests of the bests do their researches on how to get even more powerful so the Academy itself was deemed quite high up there in the totem! So, I knew for real her parents would kill her in their rage for she just became a disposable tool in their quest for more power in their circle. She used to tell former her how she was already engaged to an Aristocrat family of a higher standing tan theirs but she did not love the boy.

"How about we run off?" I asked her. I was raised by a single mother and I had sworn to myself that if I ever had a child, I would make sure to be his best father. I had broken my promise the first time with my first life's girlfriend, I was not about to do it to her in this life. She looked at me lovingly before she shook her head.

"My family would just hunt you down and kill you, their selves. You are safe as long as you are in the Academy, unless you have a way to be as powerful as a Master Magi," she said softly, afraid to hurt my feeling for she was calling me too weak to protect her and our baby.

But she didn't know she reminded me of a fact that I had simply forgotten because of her news. I had transmigrated in this new world four hours ago. I was in agonizing pain for three hours because I was receiving the memories of my new self and for the next hour, I was receiving some kind of power I had no idea. The process was slow, like a 200GB game being downloaded by a 250kbps internet. When she gave me the news, she was pregnant, I simply forgot about the power, till now.

"Could you give me a little more time to think about this?" I asked her. Her green eyes looked deep into my brown ones, searching for something till she just sighed, kissed my forehead slowly before walking out of my servant's quarters' room. Once I made sure she was truly gone, I went back to sitting on my bed, searching deep inside me till I felt it.

It was like a supernova deep inside my mind yet when I approached it, it was like a soft warmth encasing me inside it. It felt inviting, dare say enticing even! The more I approached it, the more I felt it calling for me longingly till I simply couldn't think of anything else but becoming one with it. When I finally touched the huge ball of light of a size that simply seemed to go on forever, I lost my consciousness.

 ........

Arch Magi Cheiron was working on his thesis of a spell derived from his newly acquired Spatial Laws runes engraved in his soul when he felt it, that horrible suffocation that only an Elder God could produce when they were near. His mind went into full alert, quickly arming himself with the strongest protection spell he had, even though he knew they couldn't do jack shit on a being that could toy with a reality like it was playing with a toy!

WHOOSH!

He didn't need to look at the direction the noise came from because he already sensed the magic signature and new it was his fellow Arch Magi teleporting into his office. His mind was trying to think of reasons why an Elder God was in his Academy but couldn't think of even one minuscule reason.

"Are we screwed?" Arch Magi Feinter asked, he could hear her the fear in her voice.

"We don't know till he decides to grace us," Arch Magi Yoyl, the calmest of the group said as he took a seat. In all honesty, they all knew that if the Elder God decided to just kill the entire school, not even their patron god could save them. Elder Gods were beings of such immense power their existence itself would mess with reality so much it would be unrecognizable! So, they live in the void where they do nothing by hibernate but some simply decide to mess with the material world and in none of those moments does reality not suffer!

All six Arch Magi sat in silence, waiting for their doom, none speaking a word, all accepting their fate. But, after ten minutes of the aura suffocating them, it disappeared without a trace. All of them looked at each other incredulously, each not believing that nothing happened! The appearance of an Elder God often means an age of unrest was coming so they did not believe for a single moment the Elder God left without doing something, anything!

"Is this for real?" Arch Magi Tivien asked as he used his spiritual consciousness to scan the entire Academy for abnormalities. In fact, all of them were doing the same but it all appeared normal.

"This..." Arch Magi Solvet tried to speak but, like the others, he couldn't think of something to say.

"We should all go back to our towers and prepare ourselves for whatever is coming. Time of great unrest is upon us, we should reflect and gain more strength before we find ourselves pawns on the board," Arch Magi Cheiron said and all of them nodded solemnly in agreement. With that, they all teleported away as Arch Magi Cheiron turned to his grimoire, his face crest fallen.

What none of them saw was that a servant boy was slowly waking up, his face turned in determination and self confidence. They didn't know that the story of the greatest being was just starting in the lowest sector of the Academy.
