At lunch, Rei reveals she knows something about Aoi's strange life. Rei had noticed that Aoi's house is always dark, and her parents never seem to be around. Before they can talk more, a teacher spots them, breaking the No Secret Conversations rule. They're given detention. In detention, the teacher acts even stranger, as if he's watching them for signs of rebellion. Rei cryptically whispers, "You're not the only one, Aoi. They're watching us all." After school, Aoi feels suffocated by the omnipresent surveillance, not just at school, but she starts to suspect it's in her home, too.
