"Aether, permission to hack" in an irritated tone, Mateus enters his personal office.
"Permission accepted, security protocols accessed"
The holographic screen paused for a moment before returning to the image of Aether.
"Search for information on those involved in what happened today" murmured Mateus.
"Search initiated... it will take 24 hours for the complete information to be discovered" Aether informed in an analytical tone.
Mateus approached the table, his fingers drumming on the glass surface as he observed the various holographic screens. The cold glow of Aether's interface illuminated the room, reflecting the intensity in Mateus's gaze.
"Organize a list of possible connections: competing companies, threatened contracts, networks that have emerged in the last year," he ordered calmly, but his voice carried a weight that brooked no questioning.
"Advanced research protocols activated," Aether replied, his tone artificially neutral, as a series of graphs, network maps, and names began to fill the screens. "I've already identified suspicious patterns of communication between rival organizations and low-level security networks."
Matthew frowned, watching the first pieces of information being connected. "Continue the risk analysis. I want a detailed profile of every individual associated with today's event."
"Full analysis will take a few more hours, but initial profiles will be displayed shortly," Aether stated as he processed in real time.
Matthew settled back in his chair, his eyes fixed on the holographic screen. He knew there was something bigger behind what appeared to be nothing more than an intimidation ambush. "Aether, let me know if there's even the slightest hint of someone inside the company being involved in this."
"Internal monitoring adjusted. Now beginning a retrospective analysis of conversations, document submissions, and high-level access."
Matthew nodded, crossing his arms. "This information could give us the edge we need."
---
Matthew woke up like any other day, following his morning routine with clockwork precision: a refreshing shower, brushing his teeth, and an intense workout at the gym. Sweat still dripped down his forehead when he finally sat down at the table, where the aroma of fresh coffee filled the air. With a crusty bread in one hand and the other holding the steaming cup, he let himself get lost in thoughts about the challenges NeuroSys faced.
"Sorry, Matthew, but new information has been found," Aether interrupted, his clear and objective voice cutting through the silence.
"Hmm... tell me," Matthew murmured, slowly chewing on the bread while his eyes fixed on the holographic screens in front of him.
"Information shows that a company contacted the mayor, asking him to 'sweep' NeuroSys, denouncing the order of the K-City Internet Security Council," Aether reported, projecting graphs and data that detailed the situation.
"Bribing the mayor for this? Interesting," Matthew whispered, a look of disdain appearing on his face. "Sounds like a desperate move."
"The company, called Star Corp., has been in the technology sector for 10 years, but it's not doing so well. Secret information indicates that the current CEO is connected to the underworld," Aether continued, a holographic screen projecting in front of Matthew, revealing details about the company and its history.
"So… we're against the underworld?" Matthew questioned, a series of question marks appearing on his expression.
"Correction... the CEO is a low-ranking member who failed to achieve a high position in the criminal organization and thought that by offering our technology to the higher-ups he would be promoted," Aether explained, his data organized into a clear and concise format.
Mateus let out a sarcastic laugh. "Incredible. The unbridled ambition of some can be their own trap. We need to prepare for that. If they are willing to attack in such a dirty way, we need to be ready to fight back."
"Okay. I can prepare a detailed report on Star Corp's operations and their connections to the underworld," Aether suggested.
"Do that. And keep an eye on any movements in the Security Council. We can't let them join forces with these criminals. We need to act fast." Mateus finished his coffee, his mind already racing with strategies and possible responses. The situation was getting complicated, and he was determined not to let anyone put NeuroSys at risk.
Mateus finished eating, setting the empty cup down on the table with determination. He stood up, walking over to the holographic control panel, which was pulsing with data and alerts from Aether. "Aether, we need to act fast. This information is valuable and we can't just leave it on our network."
"Understood. What do you suggest?" Aether replied, his voice still calm and methodical.
"Prepare a detailed report with all the evidence we've found about Star Corp and its underworld connections. Include the information about the attempted bribery of the mayor," Matthew ordered, gesturing with his hand to emphasize the urgency. "We need this to get to the police, especially the head of security in K City."
"Preparing the report now. Do you want me to include any strategy for approaching them?" Aether asked, processing the information quickly.
"Yes. Suggest that the police conduct a low-key operation to investigate Star Corp, without alerting the CEO of what we know. They need to be quick and efficient, and we can't give them a chance to hide or destroy evidence," Matthew explained, his voice firm and controlled.
"Understood. The report will be sent through secure channels to the head of security. I will also recommend a meeting in a neutral location where we can discuss the information without raising suspicions," Aether replied, as the screen filled with details from the report.
Matthew turned, looking out the window. "We need to make sure the city knows that we are not just here to do business, but to protect the integrity of the community. If the police do not take the necessary action, there could be consequences not only for NeuroSys, but for all of us."
"Full report sent. The police have confirmed receipt, and an operation is being organized for this afternoon," Aether informed, his tone reflecting efficiency.
"Good. Now, we need to monitor the situation closely. Keep an eye out for any suspicious movements from Star Corp. And if anything develops, I want to know immediately," Matthew stated, returning to his seat at the table.
"Monitoring is ongoing. I will conduct an ongoing risk assessment for any unusual activity related to Star Corp," Aether finished.
Matthew leaned back in his chair, still thinking about the implications of the situation. "It's time to show them that we don't underestimate our strength. We won't let them hide in the shadows."
