Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Getting Home

Matthew continued driving through the bright streets of K-City, the soft sound of the engine barely audible inside the luxurious Zenith X9. The system had mentioned a house worth 500 million Aurums, a number he could still barely comprehend. His hands firmly on the steering wheel, he followed the route indicated by the screen on the car's dashboard, which guided him through wide avenues and increasingly exclusive neighborhoods.

As he approached his destination, the urban landscape began to change. The skyscrapers and office towers gave way to even more opulent residential areas. The streets were lined with mansions surrounded by high walls and security gates. Lush, carefully lit gardens stretched around each property, and the facades of the houses displayed a mix of classical architecture with ultramodern touches. Matthew knew he was entering one of the city's wealthiest neighborhoods.

After a few minutes, he finally stopped in front of the gate of a huge estate. The mansion was impressive, a true architectural masterpiece that combined modernity and luxury with timeless elegance. The black steel gate, adorned with gold details, opened automatically as soon as the system recognized his car, revealing a long, immaculately paved driveway that led up to the residence.

As he drove up the driveway, Matthew looked around, trying to take it all in. The garden surrounding the house was worthy of a palace. Perfectly pruned trees lined the path, while water fountains carved from marble glowed under the soft light of elegant streetlights. Exotic flowers in vibrant colors formed intricate patterns in the flowerbeds, as if every detail had been thought out to create an atmosphere of peace and opulence.

Finally, he arrived in front of the house and parked the car. The mansion stood imposingly before him. It was a colossal three-story building, with huge glass windows that stretched from floor to ceiling, offering a magnificent view of the interior. The facade was a mix of polished white marble and brushed steel, giving it a modern yet extremely luxurious feel. The ceiling had a gentle slope, with dark wood details, giving it a sophisticated and welcoming touch.

He stepped out of the car, feeling the cool night air against his skin. The front door was grand, made of tempered glass and steel, with an electronic panel next to it that blinked as he approached. As soon as he placed his hand on the handle, the door opened automatically, revealing the interior.

Mateus took a step inside and was immediately enveloped by the grandeur of the space. The entrance hall was vast, with a black marble floor with golden veins that glowed softly under the light of a crystal chandelier, suspended like a radiant sun above it. The walls were covered in dark, polished wood, with touches of minimalist but extremely refined decoration. Abstract paintings and pieces of modern art decorated the hallways, giving the space the air of an exclusive art gallery.

In the center of the hall, a spiral staircase made of glass and steel led to the upper floors. Each step was illuminated by recessed lights, creating a mesmerizing visual effect. He followed the main hallway, which led him to the living room, a vast and sophisticated space. Huge windows allowed a panoramic view of the garden and the city in the distance. White leather sofas were arranged around a glass coffee table, and a modern fireplace emitted a soft, electronically controlled flame.

An entire wall was dedicated to a bookshelf, with hundreds of volumes in various languages and genres, and next to it, an elegant bar in white marble and glass. The house seemed to have been designed for the highest level of comfort and exclusivity, something Mateus could never have imagined.

He continued on, exploring more of the place. The kitchen was a spectacle in itself, with stainless steel surfaces, state-of-the-art appliances and a central island covered in black marble. There was enough room for a private chef, and he figured a house like that would probably have staff to keep everything running smoothly.

Upstairs, Matthew found the bedrooms. The master bedroom was vast, with a king-size bed centered on the floor and surrounded by large glass windows that looked out onto a private terrace. The high ceilings were accented with light wood, creating an atmosphere of a peaceful retreat. A large walk-in closet stretched off the bedroom, with fine wood shelves and drawers illuminated by recessed lights. In the back, the master bathroom felt more like a spa. It had a deep soaking tub surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, a multi-jet shower, and marble surfaces that gleamed in the soft light of delicately positioned fixtures.

From the terrace, Matthew could see the illuminated garden below and, in the distance, the bright lights of the metropolis of K-City. He took a deep breath, still wondering how it was all possible. A life of wealth, power, and status was literally within his reach now. The house was material confirmation that everything in his life had changed.

The System had not just given him a house; it had given him a private empire. And at that moment, he knew he was just beginning to discover the true power he now possessed.

Matthew, still dazzled by the magnitude of the house, walked back to the living room and sat down on one of the comfortable white leather sofas. The soft upholstery embraced him as he looked around, admiring the details of the mansion that was now his. The fireplace in front of him cast a soft glow, and the lights of K City twinkled in the distance, visible through the huge panoramic windows.

He leaned back on the sofa, trying to process everything that had happened. From a simple cramped apartment and a life full of uncertainty, he was now living in a modern palace, with everything money could buy. And this was just the beginning. The cold, robotic voice of the System still echoed in his mind, and he knew there was more to discover. Taking a deep breath, he decided to test the next function of the system.

"Hello, System… how does the login work?" he asked, feeling strange for being talking to an invisible entity.

[Daily login allows the owner to access random rewards every day. The first reward is always a high-level reward as an incentive. The function will be released once every 24 hours.]

Matthew sat up straight on the couch, curious. "Okay… I want to log in now."

As soon as he spoke the words, the familiar translucent screen reappeared before him, floating in the air with a soft blue light. In the center of the screen, a bright button flashed with the word "LOGIN" in gold letters. Without hesitation, Matthew touched the button with his fingertip.

The screen began to glow brighter, emitting a soft bell sound, while several mysterious boxes appeared, floating around a large circle. Some of them were simple, made of wood or metal, but others were adorned with gold, jewels, and mysterious symbols. The brightest box, positioned in the center, pulsed with a golden light.
