Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: The Flames of War

Helard stood amidst the chaos, consumed by his desire to prove his strength. The heat radiating from his body intensified, creating a shimmering mirage around him. He no longer cared about his brothers or the devastation he was causing. All he wanted was to burn everything Trallod had built.

With a fierce roar, Helard unleashed a torrent of energy, sending Gust and Wilord sprawling backward. The force of his power pushed them away like leaves in a tempest, leaving him free to focus solely on Trallod.

"Enough of this!" Helard shouted, fury boiling in his veins. He conjured massive fireballs, hurling them relentlessly at Trallod's protective walls. Each strike echoed like thunder, and the ground shook with the force of his anger. His soldiers joined in, using their own flames to attack the stone barriers that stood between them and Trallod.

With every blow, the walls cracked and groaned under the pressure. The air thickened with smoke and the smell of scorched earth. Trallod stood his ground, trying to maintain control, but he could feel the weight of his brother's wrath bearing down on him.

Suddenly, with a final, cataclysmic surge of power, Helard unleashed a colossal wave of fire that collided with the wall, shattering it to pieces. The explosion sent debris flying, some of which struck the nearby city. Screams filled the air as Trallod's people were caught in the chaos, and he felt a pang of helplessness as he watched lives being lost.

"No!" Trallod cried out, anguish flooding his heart as he witnessed his subjects fall. Their faces contorted in fear and pain cut through him like a dagger. In that moment, his resolve shifted; the anger he had tried to suppress surged forth, igniting a fire within him.

"So, Helard," Trallod's voice rang out, filled with a mix of sorrow and determination. "You wanted war? Then let me give you war!"

With a powerful stomp, he called upon the very earth beneath him. Massive stones began to rise, forming sharp spikes and walls of earth that shot up like the fangs of a giant beast. The ground trembled under his command as he tapped into the depths of his power.

"Brothers, this is not the way!" Gust shouted, attempting to reach out to Helard as he and Wilord regained their footing. "You're destroying everything! We can't let anger blind us!"

But Helard was too far gone. The sight of Trallod standing defiantly against him only fueled his fury. "I will not back down! You think you can match me? You've only ever played in the shadows of our father's throne!"

As Trallod summoned forth his powers, the ground beneath him erupted in response to his emotional turmoil. Rocks and boulders began to form a protective barrier around his city, while sharp spikes shot upward, ready to defend against Helard's flames.

The battlefield transformed into a war zone, with fire and stone clashing against each other. Helard, still engulfed in flames, hurled fireballs at Trallod, but the earth rose to meet them, absorbing the blasts and redirecting the energy back toward Helard.

"Face me!" Trallod shouted, stepping forward as he summoned a massive wave of stone to crash down upon Helard, determined to end the conflict before it escalated further.

The ground quaked beneath them, creating a symphony of chaos as fire met stone. Trallod knew he needed to protect his people, and though he had sought peace, he now understood that sometimes, the only way to protect what you love is to fight.

As the battle raged on, Trallod fought not only to defend his realm but also to bring his brothers back to the light, hoping that amidst the chaos, they could still find a way to mend the rift that had formed between them. The fate of their family, their realms, and the lives of their people now rested on the edge of this cataclysmic confrontation.
