Chapter 47 - Chapter 47 - Attack (6)

The golem whose core was crushed crumpled to the ground, its massive body crashing onto the earth with a deafening Thud!

The sound echoed through the night air, a stark reminder of the destruction that had been wrought.

The ground shook beneath their feet, the tremors caused by the golem's collapse sending ripples through the earth.

Only one golem remained, its massive body looming in the darkness like a specter of death.

If they could deal with this last golem, only the shaman would be left. Lucas's eyes locked onto the remaining golem, his mind racing with strategies and tactics.

He looked up at where Jessica and Grant were firing spell after spell, their magic blazing with a fierce intensity as they tried to breach the shaman's defenses.

Katherine fired arrow after arrow, her bow singing with a deadly rhythm as she sought to find a weakness in the shaman's barrier.

But it was meaningless. The shaman's barrier easily blocked the attacks, its surface rippling with a malevolent energy.

BOOM! BOOM!

The shaman fired back, its magic blasting towards Jessica, Grant, and Katherine with a deadly precision.

They dodged and weaved, their bodies blurring as they avoided the attacks by mere inches.

Each of the shaman's spells destroyed a pillar on contact, the sound of crashing stone and splintering wood filling the air.

Crunch! Crack!

The battlefield was a scene of utter chaos, the night air filled with the sounds of destruction and the smell of smoke and sweat.

Lucas knew they had to end this fight quickly, before the shaman's magic consumed them all.

He steeled himself, his eyes locked onto the remaining golem as he prepared to launch a final, desperate attack.

He then turned his gaze towards the direction Joseph and Viona were fighting the other golem, their forms silhouetted against the darkness of the night.

The golem swung its massive fists, the sound of its blows echoing through the air like thunder.

Thud! Thud!

Joseph and Viona dodged and weaved, their bodies blurring as they avoided the golem's attacks.

Joseph then conjured swords made of light, their blades shining with a pure, crystalline radiance.

He directed the light swords at the golem, their tips slicing through its body with a soft Whoosh!

The light swords cut through the golem's body, but they didn't cause as much damage as the first time.

Of course, they wouldn't - Joseph hadn't used as much mana as he did the first time.

He then used his appraisal skill to gauge the remaining mana of Joseph, Viona, and himself.

The results were sobering - only Viona had any worthwhile remaining mana out of the three of them.

But she didn't have any attacks that could kill or destroy a golem's body at once, or dismember the golem's body long enough to destroy its core.

Gathering fire and lightning on his fingertips, Lucas combined them, forming plasma once more.

As he did this, he felt his mana drain even more, the sensation like a cold wind blowing through his veins.

He then chucked the plasma spear he had created at the golem, its tip glowing with an intense, blinding light.

Joseph and Viona already expected Lucas to do this, and they immediately jumped out of the way as the spear sped past them with breakneck speed.

Whoosh! BOOM!

The spear exploded upon contact, piercing through the golem's lower abdomen area and sending a shower of sparks flying everywhere.

Without missing a beat, Joseph leaped forward, his body a blur as he grabbed the exposed core of the golem - a glowing red gem.

Crunch!

He crushed the gem in his hand, the sound of its destruction echoing through the air like a death knell.

The golem's body froze, its limbs locking in place as it collapsed to the ground with a deafening Thud!
