Wow. I was currently inside the room I booked.
And I had to say the inns in this world weren't bad at all. Maybe because this was a four star inn but still.
The beds were big, the room itself was large and had it's own toilet.
I was currently laying down on the beds. And damn, these were soft as hell. I planned to rest for today.
Adventuring registration would have to be tomorrow. Good thing, the only requirement for being an adventurer was awakening.
Anyway after registering, I'm going to use about four months to grow stronger with my [Devour] skill before going to find the truthseeker fruit.
As for the Morningstar knights, I was currently disguised after dyeing my hair black and wearing black contacts.
So I didn't worry about them finding me. At least not immediately anyway.
But I wonder tho. What happened to this city. In the novel, by the time Aron the protagonist arrived, this city was in ruins.
Razed to the ground. There were rumors that the demons did it. The novel hinted at one of two groups being the perpetrators.
It was either the Shadow Brotherhood or the Demons.
It would make sense if it was the demons since they were constantly at war with humans and the other races.
Knock Knock
I heard a knock on the door.
"I'm coming". I stood up from the bed and opened the door.
I'm front of me stood man of average height wearing a black suit and black tie with a white inner shirt, holding a tray.
"Your food sir." He said. I moved out of the way to let him in.
He walked in, put the tray on the table, then handed me a receipt. Wow. I guess a lot of the old Earth customs were still happening.
I signed for the food and he bowed slightly before leaving.
I then sat down and ate before heading to bed to rest for the night.
**********
It was morning. I had gotten up early, trained for a while, before taking my bath and having breakfast.
And now it was time to register as an adventurer.
As I left the inn, I glanced at the Adventurer's Guild, one of the city's tallest structures.
Mehn. No matter where it is, Wolfen or this place, the architecture always impresses me.
I then decided to stroll through the bustling city first to see if I could find some useful artifacts.
One of the finest, if not the finest part about a fantasy world is that the people's ideas are not limited.
There are numerous items that demonstrate the brilliance of the inhabitants of this planet.
Take the dwarves and their space gate for example, although they had collaboration. Not to mention the numerous artifacts that the dwarves race who at their core were brilliant engineers had built.
And I was in front of the building before I knew it.
The structure was a colossal work of art, its walls decorated with elaborate murals depicting legendary adventures and mystical creatures.
As I entered through the big metal doors, revealing the bustling interior of the guild.
The sheer enormity of the guild hall was the first thing that hit me. It was a vast space buzzing with activity, adventurers of all types hurrying about.
Long wooden tables were piled high with maps, weaponry, and multiple items, while big bulletin boards posted different types of quests for different ranks of adventurers.
While a big chandelier hung over the hall, casting a warm, golden glow.
The classic setting of an adventurer's guild.
I approached the grand welcome desk . A friendly-looking receptionist, a gorgeous middle-aged woman with a nice grin, sat behind it.
"Welcome to the Adventurer's Guild, How can I be of assistance to you today?"
She said in a warm and professional tone.
"I'd like to register as an adventurer." I replied in a matter of factly manner.
"Of course," the receptionist said, pulling out a form from a drawer.
"We'll need some information from you tho. Like your full name?"
"Alex. Alex Friedman".
I replied. I can't use my real name for obvious reasons so I will be using the my previous life's name as my adventure name from now on.
The receptionist nodded her head and spoke. "Very well, Neil. Could you please fill out this form?" She then proceeded to hand me the form and a pen. "Name, age, and place of birth, please".
I scribbled down the fake details. "Alex Friedman. Thirteen. Born in the nearby town of Axles, about a hundred kilometers from here."
When I was done filling it, I handed the form to her. After reading through it, she nodded and started entering the information.
After doing that, she took out an orb like object from her desk.
"Please put your hand on the orb and supply your mana in it."
She asked and I did what she said. There was some slight pain which lasted for only a second in my finger as a needle pricked my skin to collect some blood sample and then it was done.
"Great," she said, finishing up the paperwork.
"Alex, you're officially registered. Keep your adventurer's badge and identity card safe. If you lose it, it will cost you a fine for a new one."
She said as she handed me a small metal insignia with my new name etched on it and "Grade 7" inscribed below to represent my current rank, as well as a small card with my information on it.
I took the insignia and stored in my storage ring.
"Are there any available quests appropriate for my rank?" I asked the receptionist.
Though she appeared perplexed because I was already asking for a quest on the first day of registration.
It was unusual but, she responded nonetheless.
"At the moment, unlikely. But there may likely be some tomorrow, so come back then."
"Ok". I responded and then headed out.
