Inside Mains Fitness Club, Noah had just wrapped up a tour and decided to drop $10,000 on the highest membership package they had. This meant he was getting every perk imaginable—access to a private lounge, free massages, and personalized coaching sessions. But, of course, Noah had a very specific idea about how he wanted his training to go.
"So, let me get this straight," his new coach, William Smith, asked, glancing curiously at him. "You don't want a training plan or scheduled supervision, just corrections if you're doing something wrong?"
"Exactly," Noah replied. He wasn't here for someone to hold his hand. His approach was simple: go all out, max the pressure, and let his body take care of itself afterward.
After some pushback, Smith agreed, though he seemed skeptical. "Alright, we can start whenever you're ready."
Noah grinned, turning his attention to the dumbbells. "Let's hit the 20-kilogram weights first."
Smith, watching him pick up the dumbbells, assumed this would be like any other spoiled rich kid blowing through money for the thrill of it. Little did he know Noah had zero intention of holding back.
For the next hour, Noah moved through squats, dumbbells, push-ups, and even threw in a few deadlifts. By the end of each set, he looked like he was on the brink of collapsing, but he kept going, only taking minimal breaks. Every movement was pure grit and determination.
Smith eventually had to step in, looking concerned. "Hey, man, take a breather. You keep this up, you'll be pushing your body into rhabdomyolysis," he warned, seriously worried. Noah looked like he was putting himself through a military endurance test.
Noah paused, feeling the burn in his abs and chest, but was too determined to quit just yet. "I'm good," he insisted, catching his breath before diving into another set of sit-ups. By the time he finally dropped down on a yoga mat, he felt like every muscle fiber had been tested to its limit.
After four hours, Noah barely managed to drag himself off the floor. Smith raised an eyebrow, looking both impressed and horrified. "Alright, that's enough for today. Let's get you to the massage tables. At this rate, you're gonna be too sore to walk."
As Noah lay there, wiped out, he could see on his personal log the milestones he'd hit:
Bodyweight Squats: 54 repsStrength Gain: 0.1 increasePhysical Limit Raised: 0.1 increaseMental Willpower: Small boost from sheer determination
Exhausted but satisfied, he called it a day, letting Smith help him back home. Just before he closed the door, Smith eyed him one last time. "Sure you're good not seeing a doctor?"
Noah shook his head, assuring him he'd be fine by tomorrow. But he had other plans for tonight. He wasn't done pushing himself yet.
Back in his room, he booted up his computer. If he couldn't train physically, he'd work on his mental endurance. He decided he'd stay up all night. His eyes fell on a particular chat group, an online forum he'd joined ages ago but had never really checked out. The group had loads of files, all claiming to offer various ancient training techniques. Noah's interest piqued when he saw one file that stood out:
"Violet Shroud Magic"
Grinning, he downloaded it, hoping this would give him the edge he needed.
