Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Emily's POV

"We shouldn't do this…" I said amidst tender moans as I pulled away from his lips. An electrifying sensation overwhelmed me and I kissed him again. I pulled away amidst a slight gasp. and I felt a surreal pull toward him; it kept me in a loop of confusion.

"We shouldn't," I muttered with my last restraint.

"Yeah, we—uhm," he dropped me down, his fingers forked his long hair, and he lowered his eyes to my lips. I bit my lips as an act of restraint. We were still very much breathless, and I, on the other side, was mildly filled with guilt.

We were lost for words. Just standing before each other, I just kissed my ex-father-in-law; I shouldn't have done that. I turned to open my door in a hurry, my hands rattling on the key holder.

"Let me help you with that."

He took the key from my hands and inserted it into the key holder. The ease made me gasp. I looked away, my teeth biting my lower lip again as I envisioned something more carnal. Such thoughts were provoking, but what could I do when he was hot with the nicest personality I had ever noticed in a long time?

The attraction was undeniable. I liked him; I liked that he was equally as attracted as I was, which was also foreign.

"You may go in." I walked in, my hand clutching my purse.

"Have a nice night, Emily; it was nice talking with you tonight." He said and I sighed in disbelief as my uneasiness turned into an empty feeling in my heart. I didn't want him to leave, at least not now; he should stay a little bit.

"You too, Hozier," our eyes met. I was reluctant to let him go; my body was raging with so much desire, totally different from the lust I had felt down in the bar; it was new, it was compassionate and tender, and it had me reconsidering my decision, does he have to go?

"Do you want to stay? We could get to know each other more—" I let my intrusive thoughts win, and I had expected him to turn me down, but his lips stretched in a wide smile and I found myself smiling as well.

"Give me a minute; I will be back." I opened my box and took out my nightwear, then walked into the bathroom with my phone in my hands. I just needed a little moment to scold myself for letting him in and think. With my back against the door, I exhaled and slid down.

This was so messed up, and worst of all, Joan wasn't active. I sent her a text and it was left on delivery, where in God's green earth was my sister; she was supposed to be here now that I needed her the most! Arh!!

I dropped my phone and I wore my pajamas. Before opening the door slightly, I peeked through it and saw Hozier lying on my bed. He had his eyes on the ceiling top, and he had pulled his shirt and he had only his pants and singlet on; my eyes rested on his defined toned arms, and I imagined being trapped in those biceps.

He spent the last seven years training obviously; whatever he spent his time on these past few years must have done him so much good because he came back looking like a demi-god, sexy, strong, and hard from the looks of his pants.

I scolded myself for thinking astray; as much as I wanted to ride him all night long, he was Henry's father. If Henry's relationship was kept a secret for a month longer, he would still be my father-in-law, and such thought would be abnormal. I swallowed the saliva bubbling up and down my throat before making my presence known.

He took note of my presence and he tapped the side of the bed as he sat upright.

'Yes sir!' I said amidst stifled giggles.

He smirked too; it was a little bit awkward sitting closer to him now, but I tapped anxiously on my thighs while waiting for him to say something.

"I—"

"Can I convince you to stay?" He said, cutting me short. My eyes popped wide open and my cheeks flushed red as I stared at my ex-father-in-law in the eye. He didn't just say that; he has to be kidding.

"I know you have so many reasons to leave, but I am new in town after so many years, and if you don't mind, I would like to offer you an opportunity to make new memories so you don't get to leave the town and only remember the bad part."

My eyes narrowed down, I was hiding a blush, and yes, what he said was so sweet, but he wouldn't like me after tonight; he would simply hold nothing but resentment towards me. It was one thing being betrayed by the son but it was another lash on the back to be hated by his father.

"Hozier, you are such a sweet person, and I am deeply surprised by that, but you don't know me," I finally admitted. He regarded me with a confused look, and I sighed. I stood up and walked before him.

"I am your—"

"I like you," he added, then stood up and held my chin. " I like you, Emily; let me offer you a new experience, I promise. One month, give me one month to give you enough reason to stay, and if you want to leave, then I won't hold you back."

"One month," he said.

He was right, leaving the town on bad terms after staying here. All my life was not good but what could I do to change that?

As much as I would love to change my perspective, I couldn't be with him. My eyes watered as I stepped back but he closed the gap between us. He leaned forward, then kissed my forehead, then my cheeks before my lips. His hand slid down my waist and he pulled me closer to him, our breath fanning over our faces.

"One month," he said.

"We can't be together," I insisted.

"Your family? I will talk to your sister." He insisted, and I smirked again. He didn't need to talk to Joan; I already knew what she would say; she would urge me to fuck the hell out of him and probably give him a child he would definitely be proud of.

"Funny?" he asked

I nodded.

"Then I will talk to her; how about that?"

He was definitely persistent but I stood my ground and said, "You don't know me enough."

I stared at him, then narrowed my gaze down his lips. I wrapped my arms around his neck and I pulled him in for a kiss. A magnetic feeling imploded within me and we fell on the bed.

"One month," he said. I stared into his brown eyes, lost in the moment. I let my desire overwhelm me and I kissed him again. My hands combed his full hair and I pulled him a little bit closer.

"I will think about it," I whispered, then I moved away from his body, then onto the bed, where I tucked myself beneath the sheets.

By tomorrow Joan would have answered, I would know what to do next, and maybe I would come clean to him; whatever the case was, I would discuss it with him tomorrow.

The night went on but Hozier didn't leave; we slept in the same room, and eventually with his arms wrapped around my waist.
