Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Nuclear Explosion

My name is Lin Wen, and I am a doomsday survival enthusiast. Over the years, I have stored up My name is Lin Wen, and I am a doomsday survival enthusiast. Over the years, I have stored up everything I can think of.

Maybe someone else's house has a wall of aj or handmade toys, but I have a whole wall, stored dozens of pounds of compressed biscuits, hundreds of cans, medical supplies, gas masks and anti-chemical suits, and even homemade crossbow. I often fantasized that the apocalypse would come and that the storage room full of supplies would be my most secure shelter. What surprised me was that when the apocalypse really came, everything was completely different from my fantasy. No bloody zombies, no whimsical alien invasion. On that day, a brilliant ball of light descended from the sky. It was like a god, and no one could look directly at it. ... As usual, I opened the door after work. His sister, Xiao Leng, was sitting on the sofa, shaking her fair legs. When she saw that I was carrying a military kettle in my hand, her eyes moved away from the TV."Brother, you are wasting money again!" There's no room in the utility room!" Xiao Leng pouted and walked towards me." Do you know that I tidied up that room for half an hour today?" I was a little stunned,"know, wash vegetables not?" I'll go cook." I put the military kettle on the table and rubbed Xiao Leng's head casually. Xiao Leng reluctantly slapped my hand away and turned around to pick up the kettle I bought on the table. "Don't you have one of these things in your storage room? Why did you buy another one?" She looked up at me, her face full of confusion. I scratched my head." The one in the storage room can only hold 2L. The new one can hold 3L. It's different." Xiao Leng rolled her eyes at me." I really admire you. Don't let me help you clean up in the future!" I smiled awkwardly and walked into the kitchen with the kettle. As usual, I filled the kettle with purified water and put it in the utility room. At this moment, I never thought that this 3L of pure water could save my life. I made dinner this evening. Xiao Leng watched TV with relish as she ate. My sister's full name is Lin Qiuleng. Since my parents passed away, we have been living together for five years. Xiao Leng is in her third year of high school this year, and there is still one month left before the college entrance examination. "After dinner, you have to go study, okay?" "I know, I know. You're so talkative." Xiao Leng impatiently changed the channel. There was a news broadcast on the TV. 'The Northwest Campaign has reached its climax. Just yesterday, Alpha Biotech Company in M Nation was bombed by a nuclear bomb. This move has caused instability and may trigger a global nuclear crisis. Our country has entered a state of alert...' Staring at the news on TV, Xiao Leng turned to ask me,"Brother, do you think if a nuclear war really broke out, would the earth be destroyed?" "I don't know." I held my bowl and looked out the window. Night had fallen, and the town was lively and quiet. " Earth probably won't be destroyed, but perhaps many people will die." When Xiao Leng heard this, she actually put down her bowl and chopsticks and put her hands together." I hope that the world will be peaceful so that I can mock my brother's stupid behavior every day." Xiao Leng's appearance almost made me laugh. But my smile suddenly stiffened. Outside the window... Far away in the sky, an extremely bright singularity was expanding at a speed visible to the naked eye. It was like a newly born sun, and night was like day. At this moment, my eyes went blind instantly, but my reaction speed was very fast. "Get down!" I pushed it down a little cold. Xiao Leng knelt on the ground before she could even react. 'Boom--' A slight vibration shattered all the windows! I know what this is. It's a nuclear bomb! We don't have much time left. We have to go to the storage room now. There are steel supports that I prepared beforehand. Even if the structure of the house collapses, there will definitely be room for movement. Now I have to race against light; against shock waves; against radiation particles... The whole room was filled with the light of the day, and under the strong light it was no different from darkness. I hugged Xiao Leng and stumbled all the way to the door of the storage room with my memory. The moment he stepped into the room, a violent shock wave swept over! The ground quivered, and I fell against the wall, holding Xiao Leng firmly in my arms. My eyes can't see, and cold nails dig into the flesh of my back. I heard the sound of the steel frame toppling, and I covered it with my hand. Clang! I was hit hard on my arm and the pain made me cry out. The loud noise exploded, and I turned over and protected Xiao Leng under me. Everything seems to be extremely quiet, my ears only left a small cold crying cavity. His eyes were getting used to it and slowly regaining some vision. I am glad I reacted quickly. If I stared at it for another second, I would have been blind forever. The smell of smoke filled my nose, and I tried to make sense of our situation. My hand reached forward and I touched the hot steel. Just then, another aftershock struck me in the back and I blacked out. ... When I woke up, I didn't know how long it had been. My eyes regained their sight and my body was still able to move. We were trapped in a narrow space underground. Fortunately, because I had prepared the steel support in advance, there was enough room for me to squat up. "Xiao Leng?" I reached out and didn't touch her. I immediately opened my dry mouth." Where are you…" In the darkness, a tender little hand held my palm. A few drops of moist water fell on my chapped lips. "Brother! You're awake!" Xiao Leng grabbed my hand tightly and cried. With the faint reflection, I saw Xiao Leng lying beside me, holding the kettle I brought home from work. She dipped her hand in water and fed me the water drop that fell on her lips just now. "I'm fine." I struggled to move my body, but it hurt too much. "Brother, are you seriously injured?" Perceived my unusual, small cold cry cavity more thick. "I said it was fine." I grabbed Xiao Leng's hand and sat up in the ruins. Thankfully, we survived the nuclear explosion, but the real crisis is not over yet. The particles of nuclear radiation will settle down from the sky. The twenty-four hours after the nuclear explosion are the densest. If we don't protect ourselves in time, we won't live long. I don't know how long I was unconscious, but fortunately we were in a relatively closed space, and the effects of nuclear radiation might be much less. I got up and groped the ground beneath the ruins. I had two hazmat suits in storage, which cost a fortune. "Brother, what are you looking for?" Xiao Leng asked anxiously. I put the mask on her face."Don't move. Put it on." "Are you still saying that my things are useless now?" Xiao Leng wore a gas mask and shook her head like a rattle. I had another gas mask fastened to my face, but I could only find one suit. After hesitating for a moment, I forced the anti-chemical suit onto Xiao Leng. Although it was a simple anti-chemical suit, there was a big difference between having it and not having it. My hand rests on the back of Xiao Leng's head. Even if I die tomorrow, I don't want her to die in front of me. There was a pitter-patter of rain outside. It should be raining heavily on the ground. Thick rainwater seeped down the stone slab. Worried about rain contamination, I found tarps under us amid the debris. Just as I moved, Xiao Leng suddenly said," Brother, listen. There seem to be footsteps on the ground."
