Jack's curiosity got the better of him. He decided to investigate the mysterious message.
On the night of the full moon, Jack snuck out of his house, making his way to the old lighthouse on the outskirts of town. The tower stood tall, its light extinguished, casting an eerie shadow.
As he approached, a figure emerged from the darkness.
"Welcome, Jack," said the figure, dressed in a long coat, their face obscured by a hood. "I've been waiting."
"Who are you?" Jack demanded, trying to hide his fear.
"I'm a member of the Golden Isle's secret society," the figure replied, pulling back their hood, revealing a woman with piercing green eyes. "My name is Sophia."
Sophia explained that Jack's grandfather had been a key member, and his journal held crucial information. She handed Jack a small, intricately carved box.
"This contains a piece of the island's legacy. Your grandfather wanted you to have it."
Jack opened the box, revealing a golden pendant with an embedded gemstone.
"What does it do?" Jack asked.
"That's for you to discover," Sophia said, smiling. "But be warned, you're not the only one searching for the island's secrets. Captain Blackbeak is closing in."
Suddenly, a faint light flickered from the lighthouse, and Sophia vanished into the night.
"Meet me on the island of Tortuga in three days," she whispered, leaving Jack stunned and intrigued.
