The sounds of footsteps filled the castle hallways as two figures strode unimpeded. The first being a man with dirty blond hair that fell into his face with a basic silver crown atop his head. Nolan walked with his head down reading over a report in his hands not even bothering to glance up being engrossed in its contents.
"Pull the soldiers from the east" Nolan ordered breaking the silence while letting out a deep sigh he had been keeping down.
"Are you sure your majesty?" The response came from a middle aged man who followed behind at a respectable distance.
He was obviously older than Nolan looking as if he had been slightly weathered by the years. His dark brown hair was full, growing all the way down into a thick beard that covered half of his face. The man carried himself with grace only a noble could achieve with his back straight and his hands folded behind, Added with his black tailored clothing he was sure to be popular with the noblewomen.
"Yes" Nolan glanced back at Duke Cecil who was perhaps the only noble he trusted with a slight smile.
"With the heavenly clan we no longer need to waist their lives on the frontline" He spoke although he noticed the obvious hesitation on the older man's face.
"Your majesty can we really trust those… barbarians?" Duke Cecil glanced around before asking in a lower tone.
"We have no choice" Nolan's face was blank without even the slightest hint of emotion earning a sigh from the breaded man.
"I'll order their retreat immediately" Duke Cecil bowed his head slightly toward his king before taking his leave.
'The empire is the heavenly lords problem now' Nolan had agreed for Arden to be used as a strategic point and if there was backlash he didn't expect for it to be major.
'After all that was the agreement' He sighed making his way to his office while making sure he hadn't forgotten anything.
Nolan's stride was as quick as it always was mostly due to how much work and stress he was under. The day was only half over and he was already wishing to cuddle up with his wives to relax, Unfortunately he still had things that needed his attention like the event Josephine had somehow already started to set up.
'She really is good at her job' Nolan knew she had ordered the Colosseum to be cleaned and for a public recruitment of warriors interested in fighting.
'What would I do without her' He sighed once more reaching his office and reaching up to grab the knob.
'I should inform the~' Nolan's thoughts always moving as he pushed the door open only to turn stiff.
"Heavenly lord.." His gaze instantly landed on the figure of a dark skinned man with pure white hair sitting on the couch.
"King Arden" Dion looked up meeting Nolan's gaze making him shiver before he calmed himself down.
"i wasn't expecting to see you" Nolan didn't bother to ask how he entered his office without permission and instead closed the door.
"What do I owe the pleasure?" He smiled slightly and stepped further inside making his way to the imposing man.
"I have some matters I wish to discuss" Dion spoke causally not even bothering to get up to greet Nolan.
"I see" Although the obvious attitude of indifference irritated him Nolan kept a smile on his face.
"What matters?" He took a seat across from the heavenly lord letting his back rest against the opposing couch.
"Members of my clan will be arriving soon" Dion leaned his head on his hand while meeting Nolan's gaze.
"They'll need lodging while they stay here I'm sure you'll take care of it" Nolan heard a tone that didn't leave much room for a response other than agreement.
"Of course" He nodded trying not to feel intimidated by the carefree man across from him.
"It will be handled" Nolan made a mental note to tell Josephine so that she could handle it only to remember his earlier thought.
"Actually I have something I wanted to speak to you about as well" Nolan pushed himself up off the couch and walked to his desk grabbing a sheet of paper that was above the rest
"My secretary had an idea that I've approved of and I thought I should get your opinion first" He held out the paper toward Dion who glanced at it for a couple of seconds before taking it.
