It wasn't hard for him to find his friends considering that he only had to follow the huge air balloon floating in the sky.
'Is Giovanni using them to show off his money?' Adam thought as he followed the team rocket trio.
He was a little hesitant about going back to them.
'If I was alone I would've already won the gym battle.'
Adam sighed as he thought about the old amber inside his bag.
'I don't know if that laboratory exists in the anime, so it is good idea to make contact with Prof.Oak.'
Adam's face twitched in annoyance as he looked up at the air balloon 'Cant these trashes fly faster?'
Adam tried to calm himself down.
But he changed his mind when he saw the goofy smiles they had on their faces as they talked about their plan.
'Should I feed them to B?'
Adam was seriously considering that choice.
But he changed his mind and decided to let them live.
He picked up a sharp stone from the ground and gave it to A.
"Throw it at the balloon using all your strength." He said as he pointed at the air balloon.
A nodded and pulled back his arm as he locked onto target.
He launched the stone into sky as it ripped through the balloon.
'Now I feel better.' Adam smiled as he watched their panicked expression.
'Judging by their direction it's this way.'
After an hour of walking he finally reached a small wooden cabin infront of a huge lake.
Ash, Misty and Brock who saw Adam arriving waved as they ran towards him.
A blue haired girl with some wild pokemon were watching them leave.
Ash stopped running as he said "Where were you? We were about to search the entire forest to find you."
"I was lost." Adam replied bluntly.
"Let's get going." Adam said without giving them a chance to catch their breath.
Inwardly he was frustrated on how slow they are progressing. But he didn't show it on the outside.
The squad continued their journey towards vermilion city.
'If we stop by once more I am gonna lose it'
*A few hours later*
Adam had a air of depression around him as he followed behind Brock listlessly.
A few minutes ago they discovered they lost their way.
And now they are on their way to route 24 which intersects with the path they currently travelling.
'Should I give up on the aerodactyl?'
'I mean I can sell or trade it to other trainers.'
'I should persevere until we reach vermilion city.'
Adam stopped his musing when he saw the attentions of his companions were attracted to a specific rock.
He looked at the rock and saw a orange lizard with a tail on fire sitting on it.
It was charmander and the fire on it's tail was very weak.
' Ash's future charizard huh, I always hated that lazy mother fucker' Adam looked at charmander conversing with Ash's Pikachu.
"Pikachu said that he is waiting for someone."
Ash said as he somehow understood the yellow mouse.
"It's best if we leave the Pokemon here if it is waiting for it's trainer." Brock said as he started to leave.
Adam and Misty followed after him.
Ash looked at the weak flame on the charmander's tail for a moment and reluctantly followed his friends.
After going a bit further they spotted a pokemon center and entered it to take shelter from the rain.
Adam sat on the couch as he started to get lost in his thoughts.
After a few seconds he got up and approached his companions.
"Look, I know this is a bit sudden but you guys have to continue without me."
Ash's face turned sorrowful as he asked "are you going to die?"
Adam expression froze for moment.
'I forgot this guy is a retard.'
Adam's gaze became solemn as he explained
"Yeah, it is an incurable illness and the doctors said I only have about a month left."
There was a sad smile on his face as he looked at them
" So thank you for everything you guys did, it was fun to be with you all."
Before they could process what he just said Adam already left the Pokemon center.
Adam was chuckling in his mind as he stood at the entrance of the pokemon center.
'Finally, travelling alone is better than travelling with them.'
He was drenched in the heavy rain as he walked towards route 24.
He looked up at the cloudy sky with a faint smile as he raised his hands and clenched it.
'Rain is beautiful.'
