Ash, Adam, Misty and Brock were on their way to vermillion city.
Brock at first was a bit confused seeing the trainer that threatened him arriving with his friends.
But now they seemed like best friends as they talked about different Pokemons and their food.
Ash and Misty were bickering on the side as always.
"Well Adam where are you from"
Brock asked him as they were walking.
"I am from vermilion city"
The trio had a confused expression when they heard his answer.
Seeing them look confused Adam explained
"I heard wild Pikachu appeared in Viridian forest and I wanted to catch one"
Ash heard and could not contain his joy"If you came all the way from there that means a Pikachu is really good"
Adam nodded"Yeah a Pikachu is a decent Pokemon"
'I hope nothing happens on the way to vermillion city'
A few minutes later
Adam sighed as he looked at Ash and the illegal gym leader
Arguing.
Brock and Misty were also fuming when they heard A.J insult their gyms.
It has been an hour since they met a trainer who told Ash to fight this guy.
Ash wanted to challenge him and went to the illegal gym.
Adam, Brock and Misty followed him.
Ash was confident in defeating A.J.
'He lost' Adam thought as he saw Ash accusing A.J on Pokemon abuse.
'But his training methods are interesting'
*MEANWHILE*
A group of three wearing team rocket uniform were planning on stealing a sandshrew.
They were near a river.
"How are we supposed to steal that sandshrew while those guys are still around" Meowth yelled in frustration as he threw a rock at the river.
"How are we supposed to know" Jessie and James said in a tired tone.
They were planning on stealing A.J's sandshrew.
At this time huge ripples appeared on the river's surface.
A huge serpentine Pokemon rose from the water as it roared at them.
Their eyes widened in fear and shock.
Jessie took no chances as she ran with all her might.
Soon James and Meowth followed after her.
B watched them vanish in the distance.
His trainer released him into the river so he can feed himself.
And now it was time to return.
B slithered on the ground as he followed his trainer's scent.
*Illegal gym*
'This is wasting our time' Adam thought as he approached A.J.
"I wanna challenge you to a Pokemon battle"
A.J looked at him for a few seconds and said
"Sure, just don't be a weakling like that other guy"
They started as A.J sent out his sandshrew.
Adam released A from his pokeball.
The nidoking looked at the sandshrew menacingly.
"Even if it's a nidoking my sandshrew will win"
"A quick attack and spam mach punch"
A's figure turned into a blur as he charged at sandshrew.
A threw a right hook at it's cheek.
He then followed up with a jab.
And ended the fight with an uppercut.
The sandshrew fainted before it could even retaliate.
A.J's jaw dropped as he watched his Pokemon lose.
His expression became solemn.
"99 wins and 1 loss I could not win 100 times I am not fit to be a traine-"
Adam interrupted A.J
"Your training methods are interesting but training isn't enough Pokemon also need battle experience"
"Save my contacts in your pokegear"
"Continue your journey as a trainer and we can see each other again in the league"
This was a half-assed promise he made so that he doesn't have heard this guy's backstory.
A.J was inwardly stunned but he nodded with a determined smile.
"Well we have to go to vermilion city so see you later"
'Disturbance has been exterminated'Adam thought in his mind.
Adam said his goodbyes as he left with the three.
A.J saw them walking away as he thought
'From today onwards we are rivals and I will challenge you again at the Pokemon league'
The four trainers continued their journey.
Ash was a bit grumpy that he couldn't beat A.J.
Brock was talking about A with Adam.
Misty was lost in her thoughts.
"Adam is nidoking the only Pokemon you have?"
Brock asked as he looked at A.
"Hmm I also have a gyarados"
Brock was a bit surprised as he asked with excitement"Really can you show me?"
Misty and Ash started listening to their conversation.
At this moment a huge blue dragon-like snake emerged from the trees.
"There" Adam said plainly.
