The snow starts to pick up. The nurse area outside the gate was almost empty with most citizens evacuating with the help of the defence squad. The main squad could still not be found.
Shiebe was slowly waking up. His eyes opened as he looked around to see where he was.
"At least I'm still alive" he thought to himself. He stood up from the mat he was on and dusted off the snow on him. He realised that his stomach was covered in bandages.
"I need to look for my mom"
Regardless of his previous encounter with the council members he walked towards his mothers location. The city was empty. There was no one around. Shiebe continued to move through the thick snow starting to feel a little cold. The castle was about 7 minutes away. He felt empty. He just wandered through the snow with a blank expression hoping that his mother was alive.
Finally he had arrived at the entrance of the castle. The castle was what you would expect from royalty It was huge. As he entered the front yard he saw a pile of dead bodies on the side. The bodies had missing limbs and heads. Shiebe gave no attention to this and continued towards the castle. The door was already opened. There were no lights on apart from on at the end of the hallway. Where the throne was. Someone was there.
However from the entrance Shiebe was unable to tell who was there. He continued to move forward.
"My mom. I just need to find my mom then it will all be worth it. Oh and my siblings as well I want to show them what their big brother can do. I must find them"
He was driven by one goal. Happiness. He wanted to feel the joy he felt in his earlier years in this world. A joy he was unable to feel in his previous life. He was approaching the throne. There was definitely someone sitting on it but he was unable to identify who.
There was a huge window that had caught his eye. You were able to see most of the town from here. Then his eye wandered upwards into the sky. He realised that there was something wrong.
"Is that a rift?" he questioned himself.
Then footsteps were heard from the throne. Shiebe was still quite far from it but not far enough for the person to not know that he was there.
"Well I wasn't exactly being sneaky or anything."
He didn't see the person as a threat mostly because he wasn't in the state of mind to care anymore.
The person came closer and closer until Shiebe was able to fully see them.
Once he saw them he took a slight step back in shock.
The person in front of him was a woman with purple eyes and red hair. She had a beauty to her that Shiebe recognised. It was his mother. However she was dressed as a queen of some sorts.
"Shiebe, you've come as well."
Shiebe had a big smile on his face with his eyes tearing up a bit. He hugged his mother.
"MOM! Y- YOUR ALIVE!"
"Yes Shiebe I'm alive. I'm not going anywhere. It seems like you have grown into a fine gentleman"
"You could say that. Anyways lets get the hell out of here. Do you know where the twins are"
Liana looked down at the floor.
"Well a few months ago they were taken away by the king and queen of this palace. This was when we were all locked up. Ever since then I haven't seen them. " She tried avoiding eye contact with Shiebe.
"Damn it!"
Shiebe knew that there was a possibility that something bad would have happened to them but for them to be kidnapped by the king and queen. It was going to be hard for them to be able to find them.
"Where are the King and Queen"
"They fled when this place was attacked"
A core memory appeared in Shiebe's mind. Different. The captain said his mom was acting differently than she would have normally would but Shiebe was unable to see anything weird about her. Then he remembered something that she said when she first saw him.
"Um Mom. You said that I've come as well. What do you mean by that did someone else come here"
For a few seconds the castle was quiet. Shiebe looked at his mom but she just looked out at the window.
"What did you mean by that Mom" Shiebe already knew that something was wrong.
Although he was motivated to save her he was exactly the closest person to her. She was a good mom to Shiebe but he hadn't spent as much time with her compared to Luni or his dad.
This was due to many things such as Shiebe's training with Luni and His mom dealing with the pregnancy of the twins.
Shiebe wondered how did she get that dress and why on earth is she still here if the king and queen left. Why was she sitting on that throne. What was she doing.
Then she replied
"The end is coming soon Shiebe. We need to offer up our lives to the Z-Mon. They are the only ones that will save us from this."
Shiebe stared at his mother. This time she was looking at him directly in his eyes. She was serious. Her once loving and joyful pupils were gone. Shiebe didn't know what to do. He was confused about what to say.
"Mom. What are you talking about. What did they do to you. Give our lives to the Z-Mon's don't be stupid Mom. Come on we need to go maybe we can find Dad and Deveno or the council members can help us find the twins."
His mother did not move. Once again she looked at the window.
Shiebe realised what she was looking at. The rift in the sky. He could feel its terror just by looking at it so he avoided staring at it for too long. She turned around and headed back to the throne.
Shiebe called out to her to stop but she kept on moving. He then ran to her and grabbed her hand. This time he was feeling worried about his mother.
"Mom, please let's just go home. You need to rest. Those guys brainwashed you.
She grabbed his hand.
"I'm sorry for this Shiebe"
She kicked Shiebe away from her this had sent Shiebe flying into a pillar which majorly injured his half healed back. Shiebe screamed out of pain and agony. But despite the pain he was still motivated to help his mom.
"M-Mom!. D-Don't go please we need to go home. We need you. I've got myself friends now. Maz and Zaneff I'm sure you would love them. I'm really s-strong as well I've been training like crazy just to save you. I went to Henokai academy to research Z-Mon's just to find a way to save you and get paid back for that bastard destroying our house.We need to go home mom. Don't go I beg."
His mom stood there. Tears started to fall out of her eyes as she turned away from Shiebe and headed for the throne.
Then a voice from afar called out to her.
"Liana!"
"Mom"
At the doorway was Deveno and Xeno. They both had bruises on them but they still ran towards her.
Then they stopped once they saw Shiebe at the pillar grabbing his stomach while tears fell from his eyes.
Deveno shouted
"Shiebe. What are you doing here you should be at the nursing area being healed."
"I-I felt better a-and decided to look for mom"
Deveno grabbed Shiebe's shoulders and smiled.
"Shiebe, I know you want to save mom but what if the council was here again and me or dad wasn't here. You're really young and have a long way ahead of you. You can't just die here. I- I wouldn't know what to do if I saw your dead body here."
That's when Shiebe finally realised that he was no longer alone anymore. This time he had people who cared about his life. People who wanted him alive. People who needed him to live.
"Your right."
"Deveno get Shiebe out of here. I will deal with your mother."
"Dad are you sure"
"Of course I am. Outside the gate there should be a boat for you to escape the island with."
"What about you"
"I have my ways don't worry"
Then Deveno grabbed Shiebe and slowly headed for the exit.
"Don't forget what I told you dad"
"Yeah. I know we will deal with that after we are done with this."
Then Deveno left. It was just Xeno and Liana.
Xeno walked up to her smiling.
"You know I was the first one to try and come here but I got lost and was attacked by the Z-Mon's guess i'm still bad with my directions."
Liana looked at him with no reply.
"Liana, I know about the mark of the end. Deveno told me. Your worried about it aren't you well it's okay because we have each other. Anyone that comes and attacks us will pay. So please lets go"
Just when she was about to say something an explosion went off in the city. The sky turned red. The rift had gotten bigger. Then a black beam shot down from the sky and hit the centre to the town destroying the nearby houses. The beam was so bright that Xeno and Liana had to cover their eyes.
Deveno and Shiebe were not far away from the blast and were hit by its impact.
Once the beam disappeared a black fog quickly covered the entire city. Even the inside of the castle was covered by this fog. The entire island was being covered by this fog.
"The hell is going on!"
Xeno shouted. He held Liana in his arms. Then from outside the castle a pair of red eyes could be seen. Once Liana and Xeno looked at them they had passed out on the floor..
Deveno was unable to find Shiebe because of the fog.
"SHIEBE WHERE ARE YOU!"
Then a pair of red eyes appeared in front of Deveno causing him to pass out again.
Shiebe was on the floor trying his best to stand up but was unable to do so. He looked up and saw a pair of red eyes. This had caused him to pass out.
This same fog had occurred all over the world. In different continents people saw a pair of red eyes and passed out. Some continents were not hit by the fog but the rift in the sky was visible to all. It had gotten bigger after the fog attack.
