Chapter 13 - Namikaze Minato

------------------

Ninja Academy

Physical Education Class

Today's training session involved a race—Fifty laps around the academy's track. The student who came in last would have to run an extra ten laps. Naturally, no one wanted to be last, so every student gave it their all.

After the fifty laps were completed, the first-place finisher was, as expected, Ruri. Despite training to be a Ninja, Ruri often used her fists to settle disputes.

In her words, "That's the Uchiha Clan's way of handling things."

Everyone was already used to her attitude. Even Fujimura Taiga, their homeroom teacher, considered it normal. At the academy, unless an exceptionally gifted civilian student emerged, the top performers were almost always from ninja clans—especially prestigious ones like the Uchiha.

The Uchiha Clan, co-founders of Konoha alongside the Senju Clan, was one of the village's most influential families. With their management of the Police Force, the Uchiha wielded immense power. While this role earned them some enemies, as Konoha's strongest ninja clan, even the Hokage treated them with respect.

Such pride was only natural for a clan of their stature.

"Congratulations, Ruri. Another first-place finish,"Fujimura Taiga said warmly with a smile. Whether it was physical endurance, ninjutsu practice, sparring, or shuriken techniques, Ruri always secured the top spot in Class 3-A.

Having a talented student like her made Fujimura's job easier—his teaching performance seemed to improve on its own.

However, one thing about Ruri always left him exasperated.

"Move aside,Fujimura-sensei. You're blocking my view." Ruri frowned slightly, tilting her head with an impatient tone, her tone sarcastic.

"..." Fujimura had an annoyed face. 'Does any other student talk to their teacher like this?'

Is it because I am a Chunin? Chunin are the backbone of the village! Show some respect!' Fujimura swallowed his frustration. He recalled her flawless shuriken techniques, advanced ninjutsu skills, and how she ran fifty laps without breaking a sweat; he had no choice but to let it go.

It was a bitter realization—he could no longer Teach her Anything.

Being surpassed by a student should have been a point of pride for a teacher. But with Ruri's disdainful gaze, Fujimura found it hard to feel any sense of accomplishment.

Even worse, she constantly passed notes with her desk mate during class, undermining his authority. One time, in an effort to maintain discipline, Fujimura moved her desk mate, Natsuki Matao, to another seat. The next day, Ruri stormed into the office, demanding to "teach" him how to be a proper ninja academy teacher.

These were memories Fujimura wished he could forget.

Thankfully, he had a forgiving personality. Otherwise, if she pushed him too far, he'd march straight to the Hokage and file a complaint. Despite her antics, Fujimura still saw Ruri as a talented yet Disrespectful girl.

"Fujimura-sensei is just doing his best. You don't need to provoke him," said Natsuki Matao, who had just finished his fifty laps.Panting heavily, he acted as if he was utterly drained. Fifty uninterrupted laps—400 meters each—was no easy feat for Fourth-year students.

Most of his classmates, like Natsuki, managed to finish but were left gasping for air. Ruri, on the other hand, remained composed. She was the only one who completed the laps without breaking a sweat.

"If you're done pretending to be tired, go grab me a juice from the shop." She handed Natsuki a 1,000-ryō note.

Natsuki sighed. "What do I look like? your Butler?" Ruri glanced at Natsuki but didn't say anything. She took back the 1,000-Ryo note, pocketing it.

Just then, loud cheers erupted from a nearby class.

"Minato-kun!!!"

"Wow! Minato is so cool!"

Startled by the commotion, Natsuki and Ruri turned toward another class also having P.E. on the field.

At the center of attention was a golden-haired boy about Natsuki's age. He had delicate features, but his striking looks and kind demeanor made him stand out. His clean, windswept hair and shy smile only added to his charm. The atmosphere around him seemed to brighten as the girls continued cheering.

"Namikaze Minato?" Natsuki commented, wide eyed. He Didn't think that he would meet the protagonist's father. Natsuki kinda forgot that Minato was just a child, similar to his age during the Second Great Ninja war.

Compared to Natsuki's unassuming presence, Minato was a star at the academy. Though his features were gentle, there was no denying he had a captivating charm.

"You know him?" Ruri asked, raising an eyebrow.

"No, but the fact that they are cheering him like that, he must be someone good." Natsuki wipes his nose, hiding his surprised look with his acting.

"Those girls are so noisy. It's irritating,"Ruri muttered.

"Well, that's just Normal-," Natsuki said with a shrug. but he couldn't complete his sentence before Ruri interrupted him.

"It's Annoying as hell! Instead of swooning over someone, they should focus on their training. Idolizing others won't help them survive on the battlefield." Ruri's sharp criticism of her classmates left no room for argument.

"Isn't that a bit harsh?" Natsuki asked. While he didn't really care and secretly Agreed with Her, he did kinda take the personality of someone who was hiding his power so he wouldn't be found and killed.

"They're too loud. I'm heading back."Ruri started heading toward the school building.

Natsuki leaves her to do whatever she wants, turning towards Minato, who is scratching his head sheepishly. Natsuki goes into thought, knowing the fate of the Person that he is looking for, and how, because of him, Naruto would unfortunately Face discrimination.

he throws the thought coming from his mind, noticing how he is being affected. His goal is to get out of the village, not interfere in its matters.

The Next Day

"I have an important announcement to make,"Fujimura Taiga said solemnly, holding a stack of documents as he addressed the class.

The students exchanged curious glances and whispered among themselves. Ignoring their chatter, Fujimura continued, "Starting today, medical classes will be mandatory for all grades at the academy. Additionally, we will establish an experimental program specifically to train medical ninjas. Any students interested can apply."

He distributed application forms to each student. Ruri glanced at the form briefly before setting it aside without any interest. She had no intention of becoming a medical ninja.

Natsuki, on the other hand, examined the form closely. His knowledge of the Naruto world made him wonder about the village's intentions.

'Perhaps the front lines are under pressure, prompting Hiruzen to make this decision.' he thought.

Nearby, Ayane also received the form but didn't show much interest.

Since medical ninjutsu required an affinity for Yang Release chakra, and her chakra nature didn't align, she wouldn't qualify. Moreover, as a Hyūga Clan member, her talents were meant to protect the main family, not to serve as a medical ninja.

Natsuki carefully examined the application form for medical ninja training.

The document not only outlined the training details but also specified the benefits and resources the village would provide to medical ninjas, including clear salary figures.

It also highlighted that medical ninjas had the lowest mortality rate on the battlefield. This was because medical ninjas typically remained stationed at the main base, where they treated the wounded.

Even if a medical ninja in a team had to go to the frontlines and was captured by the enemy, it was highly unlikely they would be killed. Instead, they would often be imprisoned. Whether as a bargaining chip or to have them treat the enemy's injured soldiers, medical ninjas were considered valuable by all the ninja villages.

The reason was simple—there were too few medical ninjas in the ninja world.

Every medical ninja was a precious resource for their village. Even if an enemy captured one, they wouldn't dare waste such a vital asset.Considering all these benefits, it was no surprise that medical ninjas had the lowest fatality rates among ninja professions.

The prerequisite for becoming a medical ninja was a chakra test. Only those with Yang Release chakra could undergo training. Those without Yang Release chakra, no matter how eager they were, would be rejected and could at best serve as assistants or caregivers, relegated to menial support roles.

While all of this would be Beneficial, Natsuki Knew that Medical Ninja's are one of the Core of any Village. The perfect Example would be Tsunade, as without her, Konoha was suffering. no one knew how to heal Rock Lee, Sasuke and Kakashi when they were injured, but Tsunade healed them.

Basically, signing this form would mean taking responsibility for the Village's injured, and that would mean Complete Protection from others,And oneself. He couldn't even dream of Escaping the Village If he became a certified Medical Ninja, which would ruin his plans.

so, deciding to take the first biggest step in achieving freedom, he puts the form under his desk, wanting to forget about it.

THE END
