Chapter 14 - Right way to Play(2)

Adventurer is a non-Job and Job job.

Without choosing Job Adventurer, one is still able to became an Adventurer. However, by choosing Job Adventurer, they will be better able to handle everything about the actual Adventurer.

Adventurer is a world explorer. They went around looking at every side of the world they were able to step on.

That was the true essence of the Adventurer.

Resembling travelers, but their adventures are usually more challenging and thrilling.

Such as fighting monsters, exploring ruins, and even completing mazes.

In the background of DOL, that is the role of Adventurers before the existence of Players.

Now, due to the actions of the Players, the Adventurers have slightly turned into a group of mercenary Monster hunters and completed some of the Quests displayed by the townspeople themselves.

Although this is quite an unfortunate change, it at least makes the defense of each city stronger because their strong people have a greater chance of settling in the city for the rest of their lives.

Of course, the ban on going to other cities does not exist at all. However, this change happened naturally thanks to the actions of the Players and the threat of the Demon King's Army which seems to be becoming more active lately.

Leen thought it would be useful to have the identity of an Adventurer, so he chose to enroll himself.

Inside the Adventurer's Guild building, there was a room that specifically handled the registration to become an Adventurer.

On the way to the room, Leen passed several adventurers who were relaxing that day in the tavern provided on the 1st floor.

It seems that due to the frequent rainy weather, they have become less and less active in taking Quests. Notably, the Quest that required them to go out of town.

Again, one more fact that feels realistic about DOL.

Leen admired the setting of the diverse NPC traits as he pushed the door of the Adventurer member registration room.

Inside the room, a gray-haired and mustachioed man sat behind the reception table.

"Oh? A registrant?"

The man inhaled the smoke from something that resembled a cigarette when he looked at Leen and smiled faintly.

"You're quite young."

Leen ignored the man's comments.

The boy who lost his village and his family should be a little cold, right?

"I heard that the minimum age of an Adventurer registrant is 10 years old."

The man calmly blew out the smoke from his cigarette.

"That's right."

"I've been 10 years old."

The man was silent for a while.

Cigarette smoke fills the surroundings.

The man sighed.

"Looks like you have a reason, kid."

Leen chose not to answer.

The man didn't expect an answer from the beginning, so he just stood up and put a piece of form and a pen in front of Leen.

"Thanks to the commotion caused by the Demon King's Army's attack, we are currently busy and unable to hold the registration exam. However, you can first fill out this form. After that, come tomorrow and take the registration exam with several other registrants."

Leen nodded.

"Thank you."

He stepped forward and looked at the form.

There are only five columns that need to be filled there.

Name, age, abilities, job, and origin.

Leen fills each column as briefly as possible to give the feeling of someone who doesn't like to waste words.

Also, he wrote his job as a Mage there instead of a Star Thinkerer. Leen ruminated that he had to hide the truth about his Job because his ability to see the future might attract the attention of too many NPCs or Players with bad intentions.

After all, there have been too many such these type of cases happening to novice players who were not careful before.

The man put down his cigarette and read the form filled out by Leen.

"Leen... 10 years old... Ablities: Basic magics... Mage..."

When the man saw Leen's origin, he was silent for a moment before sighing.

The man could guess the reason why Leen wanted to become an Adventurer so much after seeing where Leen was from.

"Vengeance are not entirely bad. It's just that don't get too immersed in it, kid. Don't forget that at the very least, the Demon King Army's army that destroyed your village has been annihilated."

That's all the man said before asking Leen to pay 10 bronze coins as a registration fee.

Successfully enrolled, Leen left the Adventurer's Guild feeling satisfied.

The thing he liked most about the DOL was the interesting response of the NPCs.

They all react to every little detail of information issued by the Players and give a response that suits their respective natures.

Those who really like Role Playing will definitely be captivated by this game!

All Leen did was put on a cold face and spoke a little, but he had given the NPCs the feeling of a gloomy boy full of vengeance.

According to Leen, it is very amazing.

"Next is..."

Leen began to set his next goal.

Play Style.

This is the most important thing to consider when playing DOL.

Delve into the character, form the facts, form the deeper backstory, form the characteristics... Things that feel vague and ambiguous like that are the most important points in this game.

If your character's backstory is a former nobleman who fell because of something you didn't do and you choose to give up without even trying and becoming a beggar, then your character's growth potential will be greatly reduced.

In the worst case, the character will probably receive a Cursed Faith with a 10% chance of suffering sudden death.

Leen's way of playing is to play carefully and follow the rules while doing everything the way he likes the most.

Although there was a choice to become a merchant or just laz around, Leen thought that hunting monsters was a something that suits him better.

Moreover, that way, he could also try out the magic theory and sword techniques he had learned.

Two birds with one stone!

Or is that what Leen originally wanted to do...

Lovely Qiqi was attending a celebratory party at the Mansion of the Regional Lord of Muvill Town .

Red 4 and the others were busy seeing conversations with the Town's leading merchants and officials.

Lovely Qiqi was still very young even in the real world.

She was actually just 16 years old.

So, such formal things bored her a lot.

Ever since the party began, Lovely Qiqi had sneaked towards the balcony and enjoyed a cup of fruit juice quietly.

At that moment, she saw a familiar looking silhouette in the distance.

"Newbie?"

She tilted her head when she saw Leen's figure soar high into the sky.

Then, right after that, a giant grayish worm suddenly rose from the swamp and swallowed Leen whole.

"Ehh..."

Lovely Qiqi fell silent.

She didn't know if Leen was lucky or not.

The worm is the apex predator of the outer to middle area of the Fhotoir forest, the Swamp Worm.

Although it was only a level 3 monster, its rarity level was extremely high.

None of Red 4 and the others managed to obtain materials from this monster.

In addition to the difficulty in trying to find it, the Swamp Worm could also sense the presence of enemies stronger than it.

So, in the face of Red 4 and the others, the Swamp Worm wouldn't even dare to show the tip of its tail.

"The Walking event triggerer... It seems like this nickname is really suitable for Newbie."
