Chapter - 1: What the Fuck
--------
Today is a beautiful day. The sky is clear, and the sun, as always, brings warmth and light to the world, allowing everything to carry on as it should.
I opened my mouth to take one last bite of my lunch but closed it immediately, watching the blue panels that suddenly appeared before my eyes.
What kind of absurdity was this?
[Do you want an exciting life?]
[Then join the Dimensional Chat Group]
[● A place where members can communicate with each other across worlds, connecting individuals from every corner of creation! Join us and prepare for an adventure filled with thrills and excitement! Do you want to enter?]
[Accept] [Decline]
I only blinked in boredom as I looked at the information displayed before me. It seemed to be some kind of offer asking if I wanted to join this chat group.
Maybe I was going crazy, and it was all just a hallucination, but who cares.
I was sitting on the roof of my current school, Yukemuri High School, skipping class with a bored expression on my face as I stared at the surroundings.
Why should I even pay attention?
I was only a first-year in high school, and we were at the beginning of the first damn semester. I'd already learned all this stuff back when I was alive in my old world, so it was nothing new to me.
Honestly, I didn't remember much about my old world, as it echoed through the empty skyline. The only thing I recalled was my death, then waking up in a twisted place, and the man with black dimples instead of eyes in front of me, offering a deal.
The horrible pain from the mark on the back of his hand—"Promising Being," The Outsider had said.
My insertion into this world came with some abilities, and considering the trump cards I had, it was clear which ones stood out, given that everything I obtained was definitely no small matter.
In fact, it was almost too much for me to handle, considering we were talking about an incredibly powerful universe with a vast multiversal cosmological structure and a multitude of broken, high-level hax.
But back to the main point...
I didn't expect that, after a few weeks here, a blue hologram would suddenly appear in front of my face. Even so, my reaction was rather flat, just blinking a few times before returning to my usual calm.
Can you blame me? The fact that I'd met a higher-dimensional being in person and been granted superhuman abilities in a world where they were completely useless—since, honestly, they were excessive for this setting—was much more surprising than anything this screen was offering.
From what I could see on it.
This world didn't even have an omnipotent being, so I wasn't even sure what good my powers were, given that I'd never be using them at their fullest potential.
In short, this world was just a heap of boredom. Maybe this chat group could save me from that boredom, even if only for a while...
"Yeah, no." I narrowed my eyes. "Screw off," I said flatly, pressing decline without even thinking twice.
What absurdity was this? A dimensional chat group? It sounded ridiculous and pointless. Seriously, who really thinks something like that could actually benefit you rather than being a huge nuisance?
But just when I thought I'd gotten rid of it, the hologram reappeared in front of me, brighter than ever. Honestly, it was starting to seriously irritate me, but there was really nothing I could do.
[Perhaps the host doesn't understand the opportunity he's been given.]
I shook my head, rolling my eyes. "Uninstall," I ordered, seeing if it would work. It felt like dealing with an annoying old app—or at least I tried that before thinking of something else.
[Uninstallation started, countdown to complete removal in 30 seconds]
[30….]
[29….]
[Uninstallation paused]
[The system requests the host not to make hasty decisions. The Chat Group system can provide the host with any number of benefits that could help him live this new life to the fullest.]
"Oh?" I raised an eyebrow, then said sarcastically, "Well, suspicious system that showed up just when I was in a good mood, what exactly can you do for me, hmm?"
[Do you thirst for power? Are you aware of walking in a supernatural world? Then step out from their shadow! Don't remain a mere pawn in their games! The system will give you the strength to change the rules of the game!]
"I'm already powerful enough that I doubt even if hundreds of gods fought against me they'd stand a chance of winning—in fact, they'd only make me stronger. So thanks, but I'm not interested," I replied, without adding anything else.
But the system seemed determined to convince me one way or another.
[The system has much more to offer! Do you desire women—]
"Let me stop you there," I interrupted. "I'm not your typical meek, virgin Japanese guy. If you think just saying something like that will make me accept whatever you're offering, then your creator, or whoever is controlling you right now, is seriously stupid."
[…]
[Legendary weapons?]
"I already have a weapon, and it's more than enough to handle—with one swing, I can destroy mountains and split the sky," I replied dryly.
[Spells?]
"As my second trump card, I can summon a flame more than sufficient to destroy an entire Pantheon…" I said after a moment's pause. "Not to mention, I actually prefer to use my bare hands."
[Techniques?]
"I believe in the good old philosophy that brute force and absolute power triumph over everything," I said, imagining that if whoever was controlling this hologram were in front of me, I'd knock them out with a punch.
[….]
Then yet another message appeared, in a tone that seemed almost pleading.
[Please?]
'But really to go so far as to beg me to join?' I huffed, this time speaking louder than expected. 'Not even if you offered me... I don't know.... A foursome with Mirko, Ghislaine and to top it off Yoriuchi on her knees ready to worship my cock.'
And like magic, here came the new message.
[Do you want Mirko? Join the Dimensional Chat Group, and you could have her as your pet!]
I put a hand to my forehead. "Stop it. Enough—this is just ridiculous. Even though I'm a hormonal teenager, I'm not accepting your offer. So quit bothering me; I like my current life!"
A moment of silence. No new windows. Maybe they'd finally gotten the hint. I was about to relax when one last, desperate offer appeared in front of my eyes.
[Please. We need you. I'm on my knees… Without you, it would be difficult for them to survive for long without dying from some complication along the way.]
"Oh, you're still here?" I completely ignored its plea. "Since you're totally useless to me, I'd stopped paying attention, and to be honest, I don't regret it at all."
[...System uninstallation resumed.]
"Yeah, thought so. Have a nice day." I lay back on the grass, closing my eyes, ignoring the countdown as I continued to enjoy my lazy day. "Go find some other desperate soul; I'm out."
But it didn't take long for a new message to pop up.
[Uninstallation paused.]
"What? You're still not satisfied?"
[Forced installation of Dimensional Chat Group in progress.]
I sat up abruptly, staring at the screen in disbelief. "Forced installation?! Are you kidding me?" I threw a punch at the blue screen, but of course, my fist passed right through it like it was air.
"..."
I could only stare at my hand and the system screen, watching with frustration as the loading bar filled to the max, while a sarcastic smile crept onto my face.
[Congratulations! You have accepted our offer! You've made a great choice!]
[You have become a 'Member' of the Group Chat.]
[Demon Lord joined the chat!]
"..."
I didn't know how to feel about this whole situation, but honestly, for a second, the thought crossed my mind to destroy everything until I tore open a dimensional rift that would lead me to the mind behind all this.
But I held back.
I needed to understand my situation better before deciding how to act, since I didn't want to complicate my current predicament, which was already irritating enough.
Why does it exist? Who created it? Who's the true owner? What's its purpose—gathering characters from the multiverse? And, most importantly, why did it choose me out of everyone? Honestly, I feel both suspicious and confused about this Chat Room.
While I reflect on all this, I lie back, placing my hands behind my head in a comfortable, relaxed position. This could be some prank by a powerful being, or maybe someone just wants to see something amusing, or… there's really some grand scheme in motion, and I'm nothing but a pawn in their hands.
Right then, a shout interrupts my thoughts:
"Saigou Homura!" Unconcerned, I turn around with a growing smile on my face as a girl quickly approaches me.
She has purple hair tied in a side ponytail and wears a school uniform with a short skirt. A shuriken-shaped hair clip decorates the left side of her hairstyle, and her green eyes shine with clear frustration.
"Yo, Sagiri, skipping class too? Didn't expect that from a model student like you," I say sarcastically, lying back comfortably.
[Picture ---> Sagiri Ameno]
Sagiri steps closer, her purple hair catching the sunlight as she stops in front of me, hands on her hips. "I'm not skipping any class! You're the one doing it, and that's why I came to bring you back."
"Oh, you're here to escort me to class? What an honor!" I reply, laughing.
She shoots me a disapproving look. "Yes, I'm here to correct your irresponsible behavior. You can't just ignore every single class like it's nothing."
"I think I can, seeing as I'm doing it right now," I say simply with a shrug.
"Homura Saigou, you are a shameless man," she points at me, clear frustration on her face that honestly…
But as I watch her, my gaze drifts upward, specifically under the short skirt of her uniform, where I clearly see the color of her panties—a striking, mature purple.
"Hey," I say, a mischievous grin spreading across my face, "I didn't mean to point it out, but I can clearly see the color of your panties from down here. Purple suits you surprisingly well, Saigiri."
Her expression changes instantly, shifting from surprise to embarrassment. "W-What?!" she stammers, quickly clutching her skirt and pulling it down with her hands, throwing me a furious look.
"You damned pervert! You can't say things like that!" she exclaims, a deep blush spreading across her cheeks. In a flash, her frustration boils over, and with a swift movement, she pulls out a pair of shuriken from somewhere and hurls them at me.
In an instant, the blades fly toward me, gleaming in the sunlight. But there's nothing to worry about: I easily dodge by tilting my head to the side, watching as the shuriken zip past me, embedding themselves in the ground with a sharp thud.
"Whoa, whoa, calm down! No need to get violent!" I say, laughing as I give her a teasing smile. "I thought you were here to drag me back to class, not to attack me!"
Saigiri however, is too angry to listen. With a quick motion, she launches another shuriken, but I dodge again, leaning back just in time. "Don't run away! You need to pay for being the enemy of all women!" she says, her green eyes blazing with both determination and a hint of amusement despite her fury.
"Alright, alright, I surrender!" I laugh, finally standing up and raising my hands in a sign of defeat. "But for someone with your ninja skills, you're pretty easy to tease. Maybe you're actually the real pervert here, Sagiri?"
She freezes mid-step, her face turning an even deeper shade of red. She whirls around, flustered, pointing a trembling finger at me. "You're the idiot pervert!" she exclaims, visibly embarrassed while trying to keep a stern expression.
Then she turns sharply and starts marching back toward the school, trying to regain her composure. I follow her, amused, watching as the blush still colors her cheeks all the way up to her ears, making her look even cuter.
"I already feel way better than before," I mutter under my breath, unable to resist. It's just too much fun teasing her.
