A calm day at sea quickly spiraled into chaos as Alvida's pirate ship loomed on the horizon, her crew laughing wickedly as they closed in on a large, defenseless cruise ship. The sound of cannon fire echoed across the waters as Alvida's pirates prepared to plunder, their captain's massive spiked club hanging ominously over her shoulder. Beneath the deck of the cruise ship, a few scattered crew members scrambled in the kitchen, their hands trembling as they tried to figure out what to do.
Amidst the confusion, there was an odd sight—two large barrels stacked against the wall. What the terrified sailors didn't know was that those barrels weren't filled with supplies. Hidden inside one was a boy with a straw hat, and crammed into the other was an enormous man with glowing green eyes and wolf-like ears.
Luffy and Fenrir had found themselves trapped at sea after their boat was destroyed by a whirlpool. When they'd spotted the cruise ship, Luffy had come up with the idea to sneak aboard inside the barrels, hoping to figure things out once they were on the ship. Fenrir, though much less enthusiastic about the plan, agreed. His massive frame barely fit inside the barrel, and he could feel his knees pressing uncomfortably against his chest.
"This is stupid," Fenrir muttered under his breath, his sensitive wolf ears twitching as he listened to the commotion outside the barrels. His glowing green eyes pierced the darkness inside his cramped hiding spot.
Luffy, on the other hand, was still grinning ear to ear. "It's not stupid! It's an adventure!" His excitement was infectious, and though Fenrir remained skeptical, there was a part of him that enjoyed the chaos that seemed to follow Luffy.
As the pirates boarded the cruise ship, a group of them made their way down into the kitchen, eager to loot whatever they could. One of the pirates, a lanky man with a scar across his face, spotted the barrels in the corner. He snickered, his eyes gleaming with greed.
"Oi, what do we have here?" he sneered, motioning for the others to help him. "Bet there's something valuable in these."
Another pirate grabbed a crowbar, ready to pry open the nearest barrel. But before they could crack it open, the lid burst off with a loud bang, and out sprang Luffy, his arms stretching out as he yawned.
"Ahh! That was a good nap!" Luffy said, completely unaware of the pirates around him.
The sudden appearance of the boy stunned the pirates, and for a moment, they just stared at him in disbelief. "Who the hell are you?!" one of them shouted.
Luffy rubbed the back of his head, grinning. "I'm Monkey D. Luffy! Nice to meet ya!"
Before the pirates could react, the second barrel shattered as Fenrir stood up, shaking off the splinters. His towering frame dwarfed everyone in the room, and his glowing green eyes scanned the pirates with a predatory glint. His wolf-like ears twitched, picking up the faint sounds of the chaos happening on the deck above.
"I hate tight spaces," Fenrir grumbled, cracking his knuckles.
The pirates, regaining their senses, drew their weapons. "You think you can just pop out like that and scare us?! Get them!"
The first pirate lunged at Luffy with a rusty sword, but before he could even swing, Luffy's arm shot out, stretching like rubber. "Gomu Gomu no Pistol!" Luffy shouted, his fist slamming into the pirate's face and sending him crashing into the far wall.
The other pirates stared, wide-eyed. "What the hell is he?!"
Fenrir wasn't about to be left out of the action. With one swift motion, he grabbed a pirate by the collar and effortlessly tossed him across the room, where he crashed into a stack of pots and pans. The remaining pirates froze, realizing they were outmatched.
"W-Who are you people?!" one of them stammered, backing away.
Luffy laughed. "I told you already! I'm Luffy, and I'm gonna be the King of the Pirates!"
Fenrir crossed his arms, his voice low and menacing. "And I'm Fenrir. Trust me, you don't want to mess with us."
Just as they were about to make their way out of the kitchen, they heard a small, shaky voice from behind a stack of crates. "Y-You beat them so easily…"
Luffy and Fenrir turned to see a scrawny boy in a sailor's uniform. His round glasses were slightly crooked, and he was trembling as he stared at them in awe.
Luffy tilted his head. "Who are you?"
The boy quickly stood up, adjusting his glasses with trembling hands. "M-My name is Koby. I'm a chore boy for Captain Alvida… I-I didn't have a choice! She forced me to work for her!"
Luffy's eyes lit up with curiosity. "Why don't you just leave?"
Koby's face turned pale. "I-I can't! Alvida would kill me if I tried to escape! I've been stuck here for two years…"
Luffy frowned. "That's no way to live. If you want to leave, just leave."
Koby looked at Luffy like he'd just said the most impossible thing in the world. "It's not that simple! Alvida's too strong! No one can stand up to her…"
As if on cue, the door to the kitchen slammed open, and the massive silhouette of Captain Alvida filled the doorway. She was even larger up close, her spiked club resting on her shoulder as she sneered down at Luffy and Fenrir.
"So, you're the little rats causing trouble on my ship, huh?" Alvida growled, her eyes narrowing as she sized them up. "And who's this mutt?"
Fenrir's eyes glowed brighter, and his ears twitched in annoyance. "Careful who you're calling a mutt, fatass."
But Alvida's attention was fixed on Luffy. "You've got guts, kid. I'll give you that. But nobody talks to me like that and gets away with it! Who's the most beautiful woman on the seas, huh?!"
Luffy blinked, looking genuinely confused. "Beautiful? You sure about that?"
The entire room seemed to freeze. Koby gasped in horror, his face going white as a sheet. "Luffy! Don't say that!"
Alvida's face twisted with fury, her grip tightening on her club. "You little brat! I'll crush you!"
She swung the massive club down toward Luffy with all her strength, but Luffy didn't flinch. Instead, he grinned and stretched his body like rubber, dodging the attack with ease.
"You can't hurt me," Luffy said cheerfully. "I ate the Gomu Gomu no Mi! I'm a rubber man!"
Alvida's eyes widened in shock as Luffy's body bounced back from her attack. "What?!"
Luffy's arm stretched back like a slingshot, his fist coiling with power. "Gomu Gomu no Pistol!" he shouted, launching his punch straight into Alvida's stomach.
The impact sent her flying across the ship, crashing through the walls and out into the ocean with a thunderous splash. Her crew stood frozen in disbelief, watching as their captain was taken down in an instant.
Koby stared at Luffy, his mouth hanging open. "You… you really did it! You beat Alvida!"
Luffy grinned, brushing off his hands. "Yep! No big deal."
Fenrir shook his head, a smirk playing on his lips. "You always make it look so easy."
As Alvida's crew scrambled to abandon ship, Luffy and Fenrir made their way to a small dinghy that was tied up on the side of the ship. Koby hesitated, standing at the edge of the deck as he watched them prepare to leave.
"You're really going after the One Piece, aren't you?" Koby asked, his voice full of awe.
Luffy nodded, his eyes sparkling with determination. "Yep! I'm gonna be King of the Pirates!"
Koby took a deep breath, gathering his courage. "Then… I'll come with you! I want to join the Marines, but I'll help you until we reach a Marine base!"
Luffy laughed, clapping Koby on the back. "Sounds good to me!"
With that, the three of them sailed away from the chaos, the open sea stretching out before them. As they drifted away from the ship, Luffy glanced at Fenrir, his grin never fading.
"Think the next island's got any good fights?"
Fenrir chuckled, his ears twitching as he caught the sound of the wind. "We'll find out soon enough."
