Chapter 8 - blurring light realm

Year 200: The Great Ascension and the Blurring Light Realm

---

1. The Great Change:

In Year 200, an event known as the Great Ascension sweeps across the continent of Tempest, shaking the very foundations of power. The essence of the continent undergoes a dramatic shift, and the laws governing strength and evolution are rewritten.

The new shift affects anyone who reaches the God stage. Upon reaching this level, they are no longer able to remain on the continent. Instead, they are either forcibly pulled into the Blurring Light Realm (also referred to as Heaven) or must transcend the laws of the mortal world entirely, ascending to a higher plane of existence. This prevents Gods from influencing the mortal world, limiting the extent of their power on Tempest.

2. The Blurring Light Realm (Heaven):

The Blurring Light Realm is an ethereal realm, bathed in a perpetual glow, where Gods continue their evolution and battles on a much grander scale. It is a place of endless light, filled with powerful entities and ever-changing landscapes of floating islands, celestial cities, and infinite skies. The laws of reality are fluid here, allowing Gods to tap into powers far beyond those of the mortal world.

In this realm, the gods no longer have physical bodies in the conventional sense, but instead exist as pure manifestations of their elemental, divine, or conceptual powers. Only those who have transcended the God stage may enter this realm.

3. New Levels of Power in the Blurring Light Realm:

Elder God (Level 1):

After ascending, a God first becomes an Elder God. These beings continue their evolution, mastering their divine power on a more cosmic scale. Elder Gods control vast domains within the Blurring Light Realm, overseeing celestial forces such as the stars, the flow of time, and the creation of new life forces. They govern and protect portions of the realm, while also clashing with one another for supremacy.

Abilities: Enhanced mastery of their domain, access to cosmic forces, manipulation of space and time, and the creation of lesser divine beings or entities to serve them.

Celestial Lord (Level 2):

Beyond the Elder God stage, those who continue evolving achieve the rank of Celestial Lord. These beings are so powerful that they influence entire dimensions or planes of existence. They act as the rulers of massive territories within the Blurring Light Realm, governing not just over their divine realm but also over the fates of countless souls and worlds.

Abilities: Dominion over dimensions, creation of new realms, the power to rewrite the laws of reality within their territories, and the ability to affect the mortal plane through indirect means (e.g., through avatars or lesser gods).

Transcendent Ruler (Level 3):

At the peak of divine evolution in Heaven, a Celestial Lord may evolve into a Transcendent Ruler. These beings are said to exist beyond even the Blurring Light Realm, capable of reaching out across the multiverse and influencing other realms, dimensions, and planes of existence.

Abilities: Full control of the multiverse, the ability to create new universes, and the power to bend all known and unknown laws of reality. Transcendent Rulers are nearly omnipotent, but their powers are still bound by a higher unknown force that governs even Heaven.

4. Implications for the Continent of Tempest:

With Gods no longer able to remain on Tempest, the continent experiences a shift in power dynamics. The absence of Gods creates a vacuum at the top, allowing the Ancestral Gods, Transcended beings, and Demigods to vie for dominance without divine interference.

The races of Tempest are now cut off from their Gods, forced to rely on their own strength and evolution. This creates an age of rapid growth and conflict, as every race seeks to fill the power void left behind by the Gods.

The Dragons and Titans, many of whom had reached the God stage, are among the first to ascend to the Blurring Light Realm. Their departure leaves the younger generations of Dragons and Titans to establish their own rule on the continent.

5. The Celestial Struggle:

In the Blurring Light Realm, the former Gods of Tempest now engage in celestial conflicts with other Gods from unknown realms. The battles that once shook the mortal world now rage in the heavens, shaping the cosmos itself.

Azryx, the Dragon God, and Thar'gul, the Titan God, both ascend during the Great Ascension and continue their age-old rivalry in Heaven. Their struggle becomes one of the central conflicts in the Blurring Light Realm, as they vie for control over the cosmic forces.

6. The Mortal Struggle Below:

With the Gods gone, the Orcs, under Gruk'thar, begin their rise to power. As the first Ancestral God still present on Tempest, Gruk'thar takes advantage of the Gods' absence to expand his race's influence, consolidating power over regions once ruled by the Dragons and Titans.

Other races, such as the Demons, Humans, Dwarves, and Angels, also push to claim the vacant power. This era marks the beginning of a new era of Tempest where mortal races rise to heights of power that were once reserved for the Gods.

Year 200 Major Events Summary:

The Great Ascension forces all beings who reach the God stage to ascend to the Blurring Light Realm (Heaven) or transcend the laws of the mortal plane.

New levels of power are introduced in the Blurring Light Realm: Elder God, Celestial Lord, and Transcendent Ruler.

The Dragons and Titans, many of whom have reached the God stage, are among the first to ascend, leaving their mortal realms behind.

The absence of Gods creates a power vacuum on Tempest, leading to a new era of conflict and competition among the remaining races.

Gruk'thar, as an Ancestral God, becomes a dominant figure in this new era, while the former Gods engage in celestial battles in Heaven.

The continent of Tempest enters a new, chaotic age where mortals vie for the power once held by the Gods, while those who ascend engage in a higher cosmic struggle beyond the reach of the mortal world.
