I didn't mind the trash talk that much and focused on Eijun and his body language. I glared at him until he looked into my eyes and straightened up and relaxed immediately. I smiled and felt my body relax as well. I glance at Miyuki. He was on the side standing close watching Eijun and me, but he's definitely watching Eijun a lot more. I coughed quietly and raised my mitt to the inside next to Azuma's chest. I smiled and nodded as he smiled excitedly. I chuckled quietly as he grinned and raised his leg. I smiled at the ball shot towards Azuma. I grinned and opened my mitt as the ball slammed into my mitt giving a loud slap and noise. A good noise. An inside fastball near the chest. I smiled at Eijun, noting that Azuma swung early.
Strike
I got up calling a time out and immediately wrapped my arm around him.
"Good job Eijun..just like I taught you"
Eijun grinned happily and said softly.
"Of course! This Eijun wouldn't disappoint..I did just like you said too!"
I grinned as Miyuki approached, definitely excited and interested. I chuckled as Miyuki asked definitely the right questions but I didn't give an answer to any of them and slapped my mitt over Eijuns mouth
"Who said I'd tell anything? Isn't that for you to find out?"
I laughed and headed back to base as Miyuki pouted. I hummed and grinned tauntingly. I shifted and shimmied slightly, putting my glove right down the middle and slightly under his knees. A fastball, low to the middle to the knees.
I smirked evilly as Eijun grinned back chaotically as the ball shot from his fingers towards the mitt. Slamming into the mitt with a solid fwack
as Azuma swung late.
Strike
I smiled and got up slowly. I laughed and tossed it back to him hard as he caught it slightly fumbling with it. I nodded as he smiled with excitement. I gave an evil grin to Miyuki, he looked jealous, wanting to obvious catch the pitches. I sighed at his look and called another time out. I strolled over to Eijun. I nodded Miyuki over.
"One pitch. He's still my pitcher and my battery partner. Give him instructions that won't harm his form or lower his confidence."
I said while crossing my arms. Miyuki grinned and talked with Eijun quietly yet excitedly.
I sat back on the sidelines as Miyuki bent down and got into position. I watched over Eijuns form and watched curiously. It went down the same plot and the pitch was good.. Great even. Eijun seemed excitedly like a bomb ready to explode. Where was this excitement with me? Must be for the plot.
The ride back was strangely quiet, Eijun was Dazed. I glanced at the Stations sign as Rei-chan was talking with Eijun. I sighed and sat next to him quietly on the ride back. No softball team..that was in sight.. I'll have to ask about it..I took off the baseball cap and let my hair fall out of its former position. I combed through it with my fingers ruffling out the small knots. I glanced at Eijun and he was looked out of the window, distracted. I reached and grabbed his hand without thinking and lightly squeeze it.. he jumped lightly in surprised as he glanced at me as he rest my head on his shoulder. He reciprocated and gave my hand a small yet gentle squeeze. He rested his head on mine
I arrive back and had dinner with my family. Eijun walked me home. I decided to try to sleep but I was awoken by my own mind and couldn't go back to bed. I grabbed a baseball and bat and decided to take a jog around Nagano to clear my mind. I needed to think about my future. The plans. I didn't know what to do..I still had all summer to think about it till at least school ends. Seidou had a baseball team..I didn't know if they had a softball team..at all.. which was frustrating. Being in an anime world was frustrating half the time. Though if they didn't have a softball team I'd just have to join Seidou with Eijun. Through academics and try to get into the club the hard way without a scholarship. I'd have to crossdress and tread carefully. Plus Eijun knowing was..well bad..he couldn't keep a secret for crap.
I grumbled..Eijun..Seidou will ruin him..no doubt..it ruined his in the manga..with the yips..and not being given fair treatment and jealousy due to favoritism. I need to change that. He's mine now. I don't mind being his catcher, he deserves happiness..I sighed..glanced at my phone..the flip phone. It was 12:30..pm.. I shook my head and sighed. I gripped the small ball in my hand. It was smaller than a softball but I could make do. I needed to learn baseball. So I can play with Eijun. Be his catcher and practice my own..throws..I can throw over hand easily..and I can throw underhand..it should be fine.. I'll just..fib and explain that I did softball since there were no local baseball teams with Coaches that could teach me.
I nod to myself and hit a few balls that I've tossed to myself and watched them all fly over the fence. I sighed tired deciding to gather my things including the home runs.
It was the next morning and I yawned quietly as I walked to school. Eijun looked equally as tired. I just walked next to him as we both had eye bags under our eyes. We entered the school. Eijun seemed to be dragged away as I shook my head. I grinned cheekily and snuck towards my catcher. I wrapped an arm around her. My catcher..we talked quietly. The captain, a strict woman. I grinned, most of us softball girls had classes together.
We all kinda sat together. Gossiping. I tilted my head. Oh yeah. I forget Wakana liked Eijun. I just shook my head at the Gossip some of the girls gave me an apologetic look.
I sighed zoning out
School went by quickly. I had practice tonight so I couldn't accompany Eijun home. Practice was pushed harder as the team was one family. We ran together as a family in sync. Worked on batting, worked on drills for running on bases. It was a fun night.
I ended up walking home around 11 at night. Practice ended at 8 but I decided to stay a few hours longer working on my core more and more. I shook my head and jogged home clenching my fist.
Fall into winter came quickly. The finals were coming up soon for softball. I had to stay a while longer due to it and Eijun seemed disappointed I couldn't come with yet. I was his catcher after all.
I crossed my arms and shook my head he stood in front of the train. I immediately gave him a lecture on what not to do. To not push himself hard, to wake up on time to make a good impression, to follow my training menu, and to not cause trouble. He just smiled and soon the train's doors opened. Everyone was saying goodbye. I frowned lightly and said quietly to him about seeing him soon which he grinned at and wished me luck in softball. I huffed and as he entered the train cart I kissed his cheek which he flushed red at and stepped back as the train door closed. He looked at me shocked and immediately smiled happily and grinned blowing me a kiss.
I stood back as many of his team mates ran towards the edge of the platform and waved at him as the train left and I couldn't see it anymore.
I sighed. Now time to gave my own..endeavors..my finals were in a few days..and then I could go to Seidou..I clenched my hand and walked back home not looking back. I'll see you soon Eijun.
