Chapter 1 - Blood Paid with Blood

A desert with sand flowing across its surface. That is what could be seen for miles upon miles. No sight of-

"God damn you" a voice shouted as they launched a punch forward, their hand ignited into flames before the flames formed an arrow head like shape, "you and your master can both rot in the eternal sands!"

The flame moved forward. It seemed like it could pierce and melt anything.

"??!!"

But the flames were put out and extinguished when they made contact with a figure. This figure was a humanoid figure, its skin was white and appeared smooth. Its elbows, knees, and shoulders were a grayish color and had some sort of carapace on those parts. It has no real features on its face, such as a mouth, nose or even ears. The only things visible on its face were two pairs of eyes that had no pupils in them and were just the color yellow. It has a muscular slim frame that makes it appear imposing and has a long sleek serpentine tail. It has two hands and two feet that each end in sharp claws at the tips of the fingers or toes, making their appearance seem more fearsome.

"Was that all" the creature said as it looked down at its opponent. It was a small humanoid figure that only reached up to its neck. Its face was similar to that of a fish, or a piranha to be exact. Its skin was the color of red, and its stomach and palms were the color of yellow. It had claws sticking out of its fingers and toes as well as a fin sticking out from its back.

"B-but, that was my strongest attack" the fish creature said as it took a couple steps back, shocked and confused at the impact of its own attack.

"!!!" suddenly its head was grasped by the imposing figure before it. The fish creature slashed at the creature's arm, trying to get out of its grasp. But each time it cut its flesh, the wound would quickly heal and show no signs of a wound ever being there before. The fish creature continued to slash desperately, to the point where even its hands were ignited into flames. Yet that didn't work as well.

"How sad" the creature said as it looked at the fish that was struggling in its grasp and flailing around, "you tried to come to our territory and take my master's land with you and your little gang." The creature looked behind it and saw several mangled and torn figures laying in the sand, blood pouring out of their body like a river.

The creature looked back at the fish who continued its pointless attack, "I left you alive since you were the one who launched your little... "raid" on my masters territory thinking out of all of them, you would give me the most fun. Sigh* sad to say I am greatly disappointed. To the point where I can no longer see your struggle as fun anymore."

The creature then crushed the fish's head and blood squirted out as if it was a water balloon. The creature dropped the dead fish's body onto the sand and stared at it for a bit before walking away.

"Waste of my time" the creature said, or well I said.

Yo, the name is... I don't remember my original name. But I do remember the name given to me by my master, Abberant. Don't know what it means, but I have accepted it. As you can probably guess I'm not human, but this doesn't mean I wasn't one before. In my past life I was human, though I have no clue what I did. The only thing I remember was that I was human once before and died as one.

Of course, since I'm talking right now doesn't mean my story ended there. You see, upon my death I awakened in this desert and was confused at first. But quickly adapted to my life, since not five minutes in I was about to be killed by one of the inhabitants called Shapers. A species of warmongers and blood drinkers. They do not care who you are unless you are someone they can fight or if you are someone who they can follow. The last one is far true, since they are incredibly loyal, so loyal to the point that they would follow their leaders order even if it was suicide. Just like the fish guy I had just killed not long ago.

But, you must be wondering, "How are you alive?" Well that would be thanks to my master. You see, during my first day of being chased and almost being killed by two Shapers, I was sort of cornered by them. I was about to be killed, but then she appeared. My master came down from the sky like a bolt of lighting coated in blood and crushed the both of them. I would say that she was like an angel who came from heaven to save me, but you see the next moment my left arm was torn off by her.

She was ready to kill me, but stopped when she noticed how quickly my arm was regenerating. She then made me a deal, serve her or become one with the eternal sand. I chose the first option since I didn't want to die at the time. She then took me in, of course she beat me up first to solidify the fact that I was her subordinate now, and brought me back to her cave to rest.

After that day, I have been adapting to my new life. I discovered several things about my new body. The first was obviously my appearance, since first off I had no mouth or nose, so I was confused how I could talk. Of course I accepted it as a fact and just focused on the rest of my appearance. Although it was a bit slim, it was still muscular like the rest of Shapers so it didn't mean I would become one with the eternal sand anytime soon. Also took note of our eyes and how I had yellow eyes just like my master and how the shapers that were chasing me were red and green respectively. I had asked my master why they were like that and she told me it was due to regions since we were born in the sandy region, or the desert, and that was why our eyes were yellow.

The next thing I learned was our species, the Shapers, and our bloodthirsty lifestyle. I quickly accepted that as a fact since my first day involved me running away for my life. Although, at the time, I had hoped not everyone was like that. Of course the current me knows that was just a fool's thought.

Then the last thing was something that I didn't realize until a week into my life. That was our abilities that our species have. Abilities are the natural ways these Shapers evolved so they can focus on combat. Most abilities are simple from camouflaging, shooting spikes out, increase in speed, or like the fish fellow the ability to generate flames.

But there are other abilities that are far more complicated , ranging from hyper regeneration that is able to heal in less than a microsecond, creating and controlling storms, controlling gravity, creating balls of energy, disrupting space and teleporting, creating clones, and other such abilities.

Of course abilities are a factor in a Shaper's strength, but in truth, what makes a Shaper strong is how they use their ability. For instance, a Shaper born with the ability to create strong gusts of wind around their body that can shred anyone that gets close to it could lose to a Shaper that has the ability to increase their own mass and density if they just simply use their ability as they were born as. For the one with the mass and density can simply rush at them and beat them to a pulp since their ability allows them to tank the attacks coming from the winds. But the wind could win if they focused all the strength of the wind to a single point and could pierce through their body like a rifle shooting through jelly. It all just depends on how they use it.

My body was gifted with the ability I like to call Genetic Evolution or Body Manipulation. It allows me to change my body into many shapes and sizes, from going from its muscular build to an extremely bulky and bloated for all the way to a very skinny dried up creature. With this ability I can create extra appendages, create spikes made of bone from its body and can use said spikes as weapons, armor, or just shoot them out like bullets. I can also create clones that I have total control over by simply breaking a chunk of my flesh off and allowing my ability to create a body using said chunk. Though this new body is just a lesser form of my original appearance and only holds 75% of my original strength. But it comes with some good pluses, with these clones I can see, talk, and move it as if it was my own body as well as modify it just like it was my own. And in case I ever got into any serious fighting where I'm about to lose or die, I can just explode and create ten different lesser bodies that will run in all directions. If one of these lesser bodies manage to get away, I can take control of it and regain my original strength within a week's time.

There are some other things that I can do, but don't feel like explaining. After that week, I began to live and serve my master diligently. Creating clones to scout her territory and make sure outsiders don't try to attack us by either deterring them or just eliminating them. This lifestyle has been going on for, I would say, five or so years.

Whatever mindset or memory of my past life that I had left had long since vanished or are just fragments now. Which brings us to now. The body I was using was nothing more than a clone that had seen and heard the fish's declaration. Originally, I would leave it to the clone to deal with, but from the way he had said it I thought it was actually someone who can give me a run for my money.

Sadly it was never meant to be-

I stopped thinking when I felt a fist make contact with my face. I looked and saw what appeared to be the very same fish that I had crushed, punching me in the face. Though it's small body had now towered me and its body was far more muscular. Its head had signs of it being crushed, with its skull being caved in and blood spurting out, but that wound seemed to be slowly closing.

"YOU KILLED MY MEN" the fish shouted as its hand ignited into a flame and burst forward, completely covering my head. The flames continued to rage for seconds, before they finally stopped. When the fish looked, he could see my charred head, my body collapsing onto the sand soon after.

"Rot in the sand you bastard" the fish said as it spat on my body and began to walk. Its direction is my master's cave.

"Gah*" the fish shouted as it felt a pain in its chest. A white blade had pierced the back of its chest and had come out of its front. The fish swung behind it and jumped away. When it landed and looked back, it could see my perfectly intact body standing where it was not that long ago. My right hand morphed into a blade. What shocked the fish the most was my not charred head.

"!!!"

But when it looked behind me, it soon understood that what it had killed was not really me, but just a clone.

"I was going to honor our little fight, since you did just kill my clone. But that was until you told me to rot and spat on my corpse" I said as I swiped the blood off my blade hand and walked towards it, "now I'm going to just one sided beat you to a bloody paste!!!"

The fish rushed towards me and reached me in a moment's time. It swung a barrage of its flame coated fists at me. Each strike would have killed me in an instant... if not for the fact I can just create a bone armor on my body that could perfectly block the barrage.

"H-how" the fish said as it took a step back and stared at me wide-eyed. I swung my blade at its chest, the fish dodged it but was a bit late as he received a shallow cut on its chest. I didn't stop there as I swung my left hand at its face, transforming it into a hammer ready to cave in its head once again.

The fish raised its right arm and blocked the strike, and counter attacked with a strike to my gut. The strike landed, but was stopped by my armor. Just before the fish could pull its hand away, several spikes shot out of my armor and wrapped around the hand, keeping it stuck there.

The fish tried pulling it away for several moments, my body slightly moving in the sand. It raised its right hand into the air and shot another jet of flames from its fist and melted through my armor and flesh.

"Look below" I say as my upper body makes contact with the sand. Suddenly a pair of white hands shot out of the sand and aimed at the fish's face. The fish jumped backwards as two giant white spikes shot out the palms and reached several meters into the air. The spikes quickly retracted back into the hand and the hand pulled itself out, revealing me once again.

"How many?!" the fish said as flames began to burn all around its body. Veins showing on its skin and its breathing getting heavier and heavier, "HOW MANY OF YOU ARE THERE!!!"

I stared at the fish for a second before I smiled, or at least my eyes made the gesture of smiling, "from my last count... about 100!"

Suddenly the nearby sands exploded as more and more clones came out and revealed themself. The fish was wide-eyed as it looked around in astonishment and fear. Its mind racing and trying to process what it was witnessing. "How can there be so many?" it thought as it continued to look in fear. The flames that were covering its body were slowly burning away, as its will to fight burned with it.

"As I said before" I said, causing the fish to come back to reality, "I was going to honor our little fight, but because of your actions, that is no longer an option."

"Ah, ah, ah" the fish had its mouth open as the words that tried to run away were stuck in its throat. My clones soon began to walk towards, their hands changing into different kinds of weapons and tools. Soon their little walk changed to a jog before turning into a full on sprint. As they ran across the sand, they all began to laugh like a maniac, which only caused the fish to go more into despair.

...

"Man, that took far too long to complete," I said, sitting in a cave. I looked at the image and saw the image of the fish with white spikes meters long piercing his body and many types of wounds littering its body. Surrounding it were about fifteen dead clones, their bodies either burnt, crushed, torn apart, or used as a shield.

"I was really hoping that only ten or so of them had died, oh well" I said as my right hand's fingers began to extend into the sand. It continued to move deeper into the sand before splitting off into roots. Soon the roots stopped extending as about thirty of them were made. Soon the tips of these roots formed small bulbs and in these bulbs were perfect clones being made. I snapped my fingers off and began to regenerate them, "I can always make more."

"Master, the intruder has been eliminated, with a small amount of casualties" I said to a figure who was laying at the edge of the cave. The figure just waved their hand and continued laying on the ground, not caring about the world around them.

"Sigh*, oh well, might as well bring the corpse back so master can at least have something to eat" I say as several of my clones began to drag the corpse of the fish back to the cave. This is my life and I accept it as is.
