Jolien woke up like it was every other day, but there was something on the bed. Her eyes widened when she noticed the thing move. She almost screamed till she realised that it was someone.
Little Zay
She sat up on the bed and the little figure was fast asleep beside her. She had a cute little brother. She smiled as she thought of it.
Seeing the baby fat on the boy's face she wanted to touch him but he stirred in his sleep in the next second and opened his eyes.
She had a stern look on her face.
"What are you doing in my room and on my bed?" She asked.
"I wanted to stay with my sister, that's not bad right?" He asked and Jolien was tongue tied.
"I will agree with you just once" she said and got up from the bed.
"I'm going to take a shower, are you going to follow your sister into the bathroom too?" She asked, her eyes twinkling.
"No" he voiced, his face reddened and he ran out of the room almost immediately.
"Thought he would love to accompany me" she smiled at the thought before getting into the bathroom and having a quick bath.
The water was just right against her skin and after a few minutes she was done. She got out of her room to find little Zay at the stairway.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"Waiting for the Princess… I want to eat and no one's around" he whined.
"There's no one around?" She asked and Zay nodded. That's the perfect time she needs to find out what they were hiding from her.
"Do you mind following me to the old library?" She asked with a smile on her face.
Zay didn't seem to like the idea but he still agreed to her wish.
"What would you give me?" He asked. Joe blinked a few times. Was he trying to make a deal with her?.
"Remember your family doesn't want you to be anywhere there"
"So if you want me to keep my mouth shut you have to compensate me with something" he said.
"I will give you some chocolate then" she smiled.
"Just chocolate, I'm not a kid" he blurted. Jolien's smile broke, she rolled her eyes to stop herself from shouting.
"Ok"
"Chocolate and whatever you want," she said.
"You aren't having breakfast again?" Zay asked.
"That can wait"she said and within a second they were heading to the old library.
The library was the same as they met it the other night, dusty and arranged at the same time. It looked like someone had entered here again asides from them.
"So what are we doing?" Zay asked as he leaned lazily on a shelf.
"Finding out what they are hiding from me," Jolien replied.
"How would we do that?"
"Search everything" Joe began to crosscheck the books. Zay shook his head.
He joined her shortly and looked through a few books as well. He spotted a crystal on the floor. Rubbing his eyes he looked at the item and it was still there.
"Joey… come take a look" he called and Jolien left the books and got to the crystal and she stared at it.
"Woah"
"How did that get here?" She asked. It was beautiful and she had not seen the treasure ever since she started coming into the room.
"I will take a look" Zay said and touched the crystal but the building started shaking in the next minute.
"What did you do?" Jolien asked.
"I just touched it," He replied.
"The whole place is shaking… what do we do?" She asked.
"Just stay near the wall or lie down on the floor," Zay suggested, scratching his head.
"You can't be serious," she rolled her eyes.
"We will just…" before she could complete the sentence a huge wall pulled apart from each other and a door emerged.
"Huh?" Zay's lips hung open.
"This is incredible," Jolien said, she ran to the door.
"What are you doing?" Zay asked.
"Finding out what's behind the door"
"No… I think we should go back" he shook his head. Jolien folded her arms.
"Don't tell me you are the scared one now," she said before laughing.
"I'm not scared"
"Then stop acting like a scared cat and follow me" she said and he took a step forward after a while.
She grabbed his hand and pulled him close to the door and surprisingly it opened.
"I'm going to be in big trouble… but I love it," Jolien said.
"I pray nothing bad happens" Zaylee muttered as they got into the dark cave.
The dark cave lit up as they walked in, going further into the cave, torches lit up on their own. A concrete staircase appeared in their line of sight and it led down into the cave and they couldn't see the end of it.
"Wow"
"It looks like we are the ones lightning up the place when we are just walking into the cave"
"Can you just keep quiet and let's see what's happening here?" Jolien said.
The place was kind of spooky. There were cobwebs everywhere and Joe didn't stop sneezing.
"Now I think we should just go back," Zay urged.
"Yes… I'm getting scared" Joe said, looking around the place like a ghost hiding in a corner.
They took another step, in an instant, the place began to shake again. It was worse than before.
"I told you that we should not get in here in the first place" Zay cried.
"Don't freak out or I will too" Joe voiced, as she held his hand.
"Please I'm just seven… I can't die" Zay sobbed.
"Shut up… no one is dying" Joe said as they stood at a spot.
The walls looked like they were coming close to each other and the kids closed their eyes but it came to a halt at the last minute.
Joe felt a cut on her arm.
"Ouch" Zay opened his eyes and looked around.
His arm was bleeding from a little cut.
Joe looked up and there two of the torches resembled a cup and it had their blood in them.
"How did that happen?" They stared at the cups that withdrew back into the walls. The walls widened afterwards.
Right in front of them was another door. How did it get there?.

An hour ago
"Where is Jolien?" King Julius asked as they got down from the carriage.
"She's still in her room, Your Majesty," one of the attendants said.
"Bring her down for breakfast" he added as he turned to his wife and the Princes.
"We will wait till she arrives," he told them.
"Yes, Your Ma…" the building vibrated all of a sudden.
"What's happening?" Mrs Irene asked, her brows creased with worry.
The building vibrated again.
"Where's Jolien?" The King asked.
"Find her" he ordered and they ran off.
"It's not the library right?" Irene asked her sons.
"The library?" The King's eyes widened.
"What?"
"She knows about the library… how come nobody told me" he asked.
"Hurry, we have to find her before it's late" he said and they were all running to the old library.
They got to the library to see it open. Getting into the cave, they saw the sight, Jolien was on her knees crying while Zay patted her back.
"They lied to me"
"Yeah… but you don't have to feel bad" Zay said.
"It's a gift not a curse" he added.
