Chapter 4 - Chapter Five

I took a deep breath and started to enter the building when I saw kids and some of the parents staring at me. I became very nervous especially when I heard some of the parents telling their children to stay away from me. It hurt really bad that I was about to leave and run home. But, time flew by that the doors were closed. I walked to the principal office to get my room number.

They greeted me very nice. They hand me my locker number and combination to the lock. They also hand me my room number. I was on the second floor in room number 280. I climbed up each step. When I got to the landing I didn't know which way to go.

I figured to start at one end and follow the numbers. As I was wondering down the hallway and keeping my eyes on the numbers, I collided into another child. I told him that I was very sorry. He said the same thing. I explained to him that I was trying to find my room. He informed me that he was too.

My name is Victor Forrest Pierce Junior and I am looking for 280. He replied and said that he was looking for the same number and that his name was Marcus Raymond Lightening. I asked him how old he was and found out that we were the same age and our birthday was on the same day.

The principal was strolling down the hallway and came upon us. He was patrolling the halls for stragglers. We explained him that we were lost and couldn't find our room. We hand him the slip of paper for him to see where to go. While taking us to our assigned room we were shown the place that our lockers were. We approached the room that we were assigned to. The principal knock on the door and a pretty teacher answered it.

She said that her name was Izzy Reynolds and take a seat. We found a table and two chairs empty. Sh asked everyone to stand up and tell everyone our name and a little about our selves. Finally it got to the last table which is where we sat.

Marcus stood up and told them that she is 6 and that he skipped a few grades. Then he said that his mom was a nurse at the clinic. He sat down and I stood up to tell them who l am. I even told them that I took a test and got pushed to second grade. As I finished my report on myself; one of the older boys said that I was put in the second grade as a spy for my grandfather the Alpha.

The teacher slammed down the yardstick on her desk. Then she informed him that I didn't cheat. The whole school board was there giving the tests. So you are telling me that your parents would take a bribe. That shut up his mouth.

The teacher was explaining the process of a arithmetic problem on the chalkboard. Then she called all the boys to the the front to do the problems that she put on the board. Only Marcus and I were the ones solving the problem. She asked if we could answer the other questions. We separate to equal amount. As we finished, the teacher said that they were all correct.

The lunch bell rang at noon. We went to the cafeteria got food and went to a table by the door. That is when we talked about everything. We are interested in every thing. After lunch, we study science and history. By three o'clock, the teacher gave us homework. We will be tested on English as well as history and science as we write an essay. Then we were given 50 arithmetic problems to solve. Plus, five of them are written ones. Finally the last bell ranged and gathered up our stuff and left.

As we got out the building, I noticed Sawyer waiting for me. Marcus was looking every where for his mom. I asked him if his mom was here, he just shook his head. I pulled out my phone and called Grandpa. I announced that Marcus was at school by himself.

Grandpa said to bring him with me to the house. He will phone the clinic and let his mom know that he will be with us. So, I hung up with Grandpa and we three walked back to the house. He was waiting for us outside of the front door.

I introduced him to grandfather and then reversed the same. We all went inside and into the kitchen to get a snack and juice. Marcus and I decided to start on our homework. We finished the math when Marcus Mom came to pick him up.

Grandpa wanted to speak with her first. So we was putting up the homework while Grandpa and Emily talked. Finally they finished chatting and said that Marcus will be coming home after school from now on.

It was a great deal for us. Before he left, I gave him my telephone number.

Grandpa and I talked about my day at school. I said that it was alright especially me finding a friend. I went to the table to work on my homework. He asked what I was studying and I answered him. He told me to finish up: he was going to make arrangements with the Beta about Marcus will be coming here after school for now.
