To go to an academy a recruit should be at least 10 years old and able to wield magic.
In Astra Planet the magic wielder is called Grand or Mage, there are a total 9 stages in Grand Order which are like this,
Grand 1 is known as Survivor
Grand 2 is known as Practitioner
Grand 3 is known as Apprentice
Grand 3 is known as Master
Grand 4 is known as Grand Master
Grand 5 is known as Sage
Grand 6 is known as Soul Wielder
Grand 7 is known as Demi-God
Grand 8 is known as True God
Grand 9 is known as Creator
At these stages, there is a partial sub-grand stage between every stage,
