Chapter 1 - Chalassy

A kingdom as old as when the Gods roamed the Earth once existed. It was known as Chalassy, The Promised Haven. Their footprints, known as the scepters left behind, stored supernatural powers able to distort reality as it is when wielded by a befitting host. Now, what's left of the kingdom are the walls outlining its territory and its inhabitants, who fear extinction from neighboring nations.

Chalassy is one of the easternmost countries in its location. It is bordered to the North and west by Osta and to the east and south by Paresia. The neighboring continent is attached by a natural landmass nicknamed the continental bridge.

"Sir, the Osta Empire has requested a meeting with you." A female in her twenties held a clipboard, squishing her tucked button t-shirt to her ample chest.

Her dark shiny hair flew behind as she kept pacing, trying to follow a man wearing his military jacket on top of his shoulders. He appeared to have a high status and was held high within the country.

On his left bicep, a badge with the kingdom's emblem in the middle and words spiraling around it read, "The Holy Kingdom, Chalassy."

Her green eyes spelled worry. She was nervous; sweat fell from her brown checkered skirt to her ankles, which were wrapped in high heels.

On each of his shoulders were five stars centered in a line. He opened his plump lips to speak but only whispered to himself.

"Ugh, finally. My plan has commenced." His long black hair, parted in the middle, was stuck between his long lashes on both sides. He moved his right arm to remove them and opened his dark brown eyes to stare at a squad of six people standing before a massive entrance.

"Captin Anu!" The squad of six people saluted the highly esteemed general.

'At ease, warriors." He spoke lightly with his deep voice.

"Luca."

"Nora."

"Merna."

"Maryam."

"Zaya."

"Tony."

"The plan has commenced. Now we deal a fatal blow to our enemies in the North!" His eyes told a story of sorrow. His existence was drenched in blood. He had hardships that men could not imagine going through. Yet, he was the fifth current highest-ranking general. Only at twenty, Anu carried the weight of an entire nation on top of his large shoulders as the only battle-active general.

The rest sat on a chair, encompassing the Monarch with their wine and fancy clothes. They spoke lightly and took matters with an optimistic philosophy while the world planned their extinction.

A room stretched hundreds of feet wrapped in gold and purple monarch colors.

Four generals sat before a crowned young man, perhaps in his mid-twenties. Behind him was the giant flag of Chalassy and symbols of the military's crest.

"Your majesty, why do you put so much faith in Anu?" A general with his face covered in a fancy red cloth spoke to the Monarch of The Chalassy Kingdom.

"He's a man like no other. His father proved king-worthy; his genius intellect now resides within Anu. Anu's mother was a brave captain who led a squadron into enemy territory and retrieved critical information even in her dying moments." The Monarch spoke with high regard about Anu.

"I do know that, but what makes Anu special?" Another general questioned the Monarch again.

"The legacy his parents inherited to him has been shown repeatedly as he has saved the Kingdom of Chalassy countless times." The Monarch silenced the room as the angel-decorated doors swung inwardly.

"General Anu?" The four battle-inactive generals stood out of their seats. They were shocked to see him walk in so causally. It was his habit, but the generals never took these actions lightly, as always.

"Why, you haven't learned your lesson?" The general closest to the door asked Anu if he had learned to knock and approach the Monarch's room respectfully.

"General, I will address you once you remove that cloth off your face." Anu felt no need to knock.

"Anu, my unyielding dagger, mind not their words, but their intention of regard to me." The Monarch told Anu that the general meant no harm but that he should show some respect to their ruler.

"Uhh, that's no fun. Sir Manuel, the Osta Empire, requests a meeting with me. Your verdict?" He asked permission from his ruler to attend. Anu narrowed his eyes, thinking profoundly.

"Do not address his majesty by first name, you idiot!" The general in the last left seat spoke, irritated by Anu.

"It's quite fine; you can too if you want." Finally, the ruler revealed his face from the shadows. He was brown, and blue eyes complimented his long eyelashes. He wore clothes that were king-worthy. Purple and red contrasted the white cape he was wearing over his button-up shirt. They, indeed, were fit for a king.

"You'll attend representing the Kingdom of Chalassy and me, your ruler." The Monarch approved his request to attend. However, he seemed left in the shadows of the underlying plan Anu had devised.

"Roger"

Anu took his leave; no words spoken angered the generals.

"Anu, you son of b…"

Silence befell the fleeing words of the general seated by the king.

Anu's had unleashed the aura stored in his eyes.

He couldn't utter a word; neither could the other generals.

"Call me it, call me a son of a bitch, I dare you!" Anu smiled creepily.

Within a split second, he appeared by the general, squatted on his desk.

"Go ahead," You skunk. Anu then grabbed his hair and smashed his face against the desk.

"Anyone who dares to blaspheme my mother or father will follow them into the afterlife." He raised the general's head, covered in a red cloth.

"Anu…" King Manuel looked at Anu with innocent eyes and nodded.

Anu then disappeared and appeared back by the entrance door.

"My liege, I will take my leave now," he saluted Manuel.

Boom!

The doors closed.
