Stars shone and the axis of the galaxy itself rotated inside Dr. Sue's eyes when the door was barged open by none other than, Mariel!
After that time at the reception room, Mariel had never actually did anything out of the line. So, both of them just decided to treat her normally, too. They even collectively felt the need to stray from her , she just feels lke bad vibes. Like a viper. And, as recipient of her gaze, Dr. Sue couldn't agree more with Liz's verdict.
But, right now, Sullivan didn't care about that !
All he cared about was the fact that he won't be alone here anymore.
He was about to wave for Mariel to come when he felt someones' eyes on him. Extremely sharp like a knife, cold as ice and as dangerous as the eyes of a Cobra when its irises turned into slits.
If Sullivan felt extremely happy before then, right now he felt completely opposite. His shoulders slumped and the hand he was about to raise faltered, he felt his back run cold but that was when he saw her step through the wooden porch and look over!
Dr. Sue suddenly felt hopeful, he felt like a prisoner behind bars and the gaurds just said " you can come out, now." What the gaurds didn't know was how much that meant for him becausec that was just in time for him to see his mother one last time. Dr. Sue felt the words he wanted to shout just roll and roll inside his throat until... until Dr, Sue watched as she stormed in to the backdoor just as fast as she came in through the backgate. Dr. Sue simply slumped his shoulders.
Meanwhile, Mariel furiously stomped on the wooden floor leaving a thunder clapping sound at her wake then opened the door and closed it with a slam. Unhappy, is an understatement of her case.
Turns out( much to Dr. Sue's dismay), that place was at Mariels' hindsight, covered with climbing vines and lots of potted plants with very large leaves. You wouldn't see inside clearly unless you d come and look closer or wave all the leaves away. Perfect place to relax in summer with the rays directly hitting the leaves and the light passing through them. Being a house plant of Someone like Rosalind meant being trimmed or cared for more or less every other day.
Lizette relaxed herself moving from the couch to a weirdly made chair out of thick ropes and a twig. It was comfortably laid with cushions and a thick soft-looking fur blanket. Liz sighed as her back rested on the pillows and thought to herself. This was a garden parlor and behind them was the slums just 2 or three streets away. At least, that was as far as Lizette was concerned. Lizette didn't even bother to take a look at Maryel but she waaas startled of that slam.
Just as what was Dr. Sue was afraid of before, Lizette was already out of whatever was keeping her high before.
Dr. Sue forced the sounds of his clattering teeth to shut , using his lips, he forcefully clammed them up. His forehead began prespirating. He didn't know why and he didn't wanna know why but he seemed to be really afraid of Liz.
What happened in the purple forest???
Sullivan thought long and hard, when he habitually tried to reach for his glasses as usual but found that they were gone!
He had and always have had his glasses, they never left him!
Well, almost never. It wouldn't matter so much if it was like any other day but ever since he got .... he got what? In any case, this... it's just this was really alarming. Dr. Sue felt completely distressed.
They were perfectly normal glasses devoid of magic whatsoever or any monetary value but it was something given to him by his master. He never lost track of it before, he had always put a tracking spell on them, how strange. Dr. Sue thought, rubbing his thumb and forefinger together.
" Hey? Liz."
Dr. Sue called out without thinking , his head bobbed low still retracing the things he did these past few days. While, Dr. Sue was busy thinking about his glasses, Dr. Sue had already calmed down and just wanted to know about this particular abnormality in his life.
" Do you happen to know what happened to my glasses?"
"Glasses?" Liz asked, her head turning to look at Dr. Sue strangely. She had just leaned over to reach out for some egg- pastries dipped with mulberry sauce or atleast that's what they looked like for her. She took one, catiously tasting them before delightfully chewing it.Then, further finishing to munch the whole pastry the size of a cupcake.
"Yes, glasses." Dr. Sue nodded completely miissing her point .
" Do you happen to know when you last saw them with me?
" But, you never wore glasses before."
Liz said.
" I did not?" This time, Dr. Sue finally looked over strangely.
" yes , you did not." Liz affirmed. " Or, maybe you did, I'm not actually sure"
Liz put her forefinger at the corner of her mouth, somewhere around her chin and, seriously thought to herself. Did he or did he not?
Liz thought long and hard , overturn8ng her memories these last few days and shrugged. She looked at Dr. Sue who was still waiting for her answer and shook her head to show that she really didn't know.
Dr. Sue thoughtfully stared at the smaller potted plants and said , " huh".
...
In the end , the case of the missing glasses remained unsolved. Mariel stormed inside the house. Her footsoles particularly loud and unsettling within the quite desolate house.
Mariel continued to stomp until she reached the kitchen. Her brows furrowed as she found something amiss. A teapot was still smoking upon the stove and kitchens' table top looked used.... Mariel frowned further.
Her steps inaverdently quietened, with her hidden hand she reached for the misplaced metal stick usually used to adjust the burning log in the fireplace.
Mariel it hard, hiding it inbetween the folds of her green elaborate dress.
She catiously and subtly looked around, trying to catch whatever she thought it was.
She was taut to her very toes and shaking even but she firmly gripped her hands on the metal sticks' handle. Her gait unusually serious. She stopped looking around and simply went to the stove where the teapot was boiling.
What did they put in there?
What are trying to do? And , of all houses , why mine?
Is it poison?
No, I didn't hear a sound in house...
Mariels' beating heart that went unsettlingly calm before completely going haywire when another thought popped up in her head. Mariel had her back from the kithens' door when she heard the wooden floors creak and a rustling sound behind.
"!!!" , Mariel felt 3 exclamation marks pop up when she gave out a start and she jumped to face whoever it was.
It was Liz.
As much as she wanted to just lay down on her newfound comfortable and weird chair more, Lizette realized that the tray previously filled with food is now empty. No more teas and no more snacks. She wanted Dr. Sue to go and it's not like she can't do it either its just.... in any case she didn't get what she wanted because she lost in playing 'rock', paper' scissors'.
A new game Dr. Sue introduced to her, just earlier.
Dr. Sue demonstrated by rolling his palm into fists, " this is rock," he said.
"Paper", as he re-opened his fists wide.
" Then, scissors," by folding three of his fingers but leaving his middle and fore finger out.
Liz looked at this with fascinating bewilderment and Dr. Sue supressed his chuckle before she could notice his strangeness.
" okay, to play this game, there are rules!
Scissors cuts paper, paper covers the Rock and the rock , Rock destroys scissors", Dr. Sue explained it, by playing one player each with his two hands. " Easy! Right?"
Liz nodded.
Then, away they played . Dr. Sue Proposal to play three times and Liz only won in the first game, the rest?
Dr. Sue won, before leaving he didn't forget to grin at Liz reminding her not to forget to get some sugarblocks, the more snacks the merrier. Of course, he said all that was under Lizs' fiery glare aggravated by him intentionally and her ignited fighting spirit. Liz had to leave unwillingly.
In her head , she still thinks she hasn't lost, just slipped.
Liz closed the door behind her with the tray on hand , walked away and now we're back! Liz was carrying a tray towards the kitchen when she saw a familiar back, hair color , anyway, someone really familiar--- she just can't f8gure outt her nam Maryel... Mabilis.. Mabilis.Mave.. Who?
Anyhow, she is walking strange. She was holding a stick with both her hands, her back to her and her shoulders crouched.
Liz didn't know what gave her a start but when she turned to face her, she reacted with a face you use when a burglar with a gun come in.
And, I'm probably not far-off, Liz surmised.
Mave screamed at the top of her lungs. Now, it was her turn to let out a start, Liz was a about to jump when she remembered that she was carrying a tray full of trinkets with her.
The jump made her lose her balance, the heavy tray swayed and she followed after it. 'Almost had me'. Liz patted her chest in relief with an invisible hand.
When she finally came to, she glared hard at the culprit, Brass metal!
But, she didn't have enough time to question M-m...[ her name] when the metal stick in her hand came hurling down at her from above, although it was clumsy. The force used was all and everything spelled deadly.
Poor coppers! Liz eyes widened as she dodged another hard blow from the metal stick.
When it finally slowed enough for her to take a breath, Liz s' chest rose up and down as she heaved. Liz took one good look at who she thought was familiar and catiously took a step back but in her head she was already taking a look at her family tree. Liz probably muttered something unsettling before carefully and slowly settling down the tray when another blow went to her , again!
" What In the tarnation!" Liz screeched, her hands was carefully and fortunately still holding onto the tray.
" What are you up to?", she glared, her voice still toning down from the previous scene yet she managed to hold it down and look at eyes catiously eyeing her from across the room.
" What are you doing ?", Liz asked again , this time with a bit more anger threatening to spill.
" What are you doing here?" Mariel asked instead, pointing out that she lived there and Liz who clearly did not live here before should be the one answering her question.
" Don't you recognize me?" This time it was Lizs' turn to point something out, "Aunt Rosalind, let us stay here."
" Us?" Mariel parroted in utter bewilderment.
" Yeah , me and my brother." Liz shrugged.
