"Seriously, you need to stop crying" Maryann patted my shoulder
"I don't think I can take this torture anymore. I thought I could handle Romano but now, Vivian?" I sobbed, cleaning my tears
"I heard she'll only be here for a week" Maryann rubbed my back, comfortingly.
"By then, I might be dead"
"The earlier the better" A feminine voice said, intruding in my conversation with Maryann. I quickly wiped my tears before turning round
"Good day, Vivian" I greeted, sniffing
"Miss Vivian. Seriously, where's your manner?" Vivian frowned.
"Sorry, Miss Vivian" I said, bowing down.
"Good. Now, what do you maids have to offer me" She said, placing her manicured hand on the counter
"What would you like to eat?" Maryann asked
"Salad" She said
"That's not available" Maryann said. "Only healthy foods are available"
"What does that mean? You better do something about it!" Vivian yelled.
"You can try steak and lettuce. You used to love it" I chimed in.
"Ew! That was the old me. I promise, you don't know the current me and you should seriously stop acting like you do because it's disgusting" She said, eyeing me up and down
"At least you've acknowledged the fact that you once knew me today" I rolled my eyes
"Did you just roll your eyes at me?" Vivian sneered.
"I.. I didn't mean to" I stuttered. Oh my eyes will put me in trouble.
"I'll teach you a lesson" She said, walking into kitchen; she picked up a glass cup and walked up to where I was standing.
"Jesus Christ!" I yelled at the loud sound the glass made when it collided with the tiled floor.
"Oh my goodness! My hand" Vivian yelled
"What?" I turned to look at her. "You're bleeding!" I yelled
"Get away from me you wicked witch!" She yelled. "Now, watch"
"What's going on here?" Romano roared, pointing at gun at us immediately he entered the kitchen, making my heart skip. He gently placed it at the counter, sighing.
"Baby, she did it" Vivian said, holding out her hand for him to see.
"Maryann?" He asked. "She can be clumsy"
"Not, Maryann. Jadelyn!" She began to sob.
Jadelyn?
That's me?
What's this?
I looked at Maryann who had the same shocked expression I had on.
"I.. I ... I didn't do it" I shook my head
"Guards! Take her to the clinic" Romano ordered, his eyes not leaving me. He was furious.
"I promise, I didn't do anything" I cried.
"How am I supposed to believe you when your eyes are red again. Haven't I warned you to stop smoking?" He yelled
This again?
"Master She didn't..."
"Do you want to be punished, Maryann?" He asked Maryann. I quickly shook my head, standing in front of Maryann
"I'm sorry! It was a mistake" I quickly said. "The glass slipped from my arm. I didn't know that a piece flew and pierced Miss Vivian" I lied.
"Of fucking course. You both always tend to cause destruction wherever you go" He sneered. "Everywhere! You both are always hurting people!"
"No, Maryann is innocent. It's only me!" I said immediately.
"I know. I wasn't referring to Maryann either" He said, glaring at me
Then why did he say 'You both'?
"I'm really sorry" I bowed
"You think your stupid apology will - okay fine!" He said walking round the shattered glass. He forcefully threw me down on the floor. I winced at the sharp cut on my knee. I didn't need to look to know that I've been pierced by a piece of glass. "Apologise to the glass"
"What?" I raised my eyebrow at him in confusion.
"You heard me!" He yelled, causing me to look down immediately.
"Just apologize to it" Maryann whispered. I knew she was as frightened as I was but I still didn't get why I had to apologize to the glass.
"I'm sorry" I said regardless.
"Again."
"I'm sorry"
"Again!"
"I'm sorry!" I yelled, crying now.
"Why are you fucking crying! So stupid." He scoffed. "Apologise again!"
"Why am I apologizing?" I asked, feeling fed up of this nonsense
"Good question!" He said. "I want you to tell me if your fucking apology have been able to fix the glass! It's broken" He yelled. "So, do not fucking apologize to me because it's not going to get me a new glass!"
That's it?
Oh my goodness
"I can get you a new glass. If only you'll allow me step out. I have some money I saved up in my house..."
"You're so funny!" He laughed. "You're mine! You are a fucking prisoner and you dare not leave this house."
"Then how do I replace it" I sniffed, cleaning my tears
"By receiving your punishment gladly. Now, clean this up!" He yelled. "Where are you going, Maryann?" He eyed Maryann, making her stop on her track
"To get the broom and packer master"
"No. This is her punishment." He said, turning to me again. "You will pack it with your bare hands!"
"I.. I can't do that, Sir" I shook my head.
"Let's try that again" He chuckled darkly. "Pack this with your bare hands. NOW!" He yelled.
"It'll hurt me" I said, letting out the tears that were flooded in my eyes
"Do I look like I care? Fine, choose one!" He said, bending to my level, crushing more piece of shattered glass with his shoe. "Say sorry to the glass until it comes back to the way it was or clean this mess up."
"You know the first one is not possible!" I cried out
"The second is possible."
"But not with my bare hands" I pleaded. "Please this is too much on me"
"I thought the Thompson girls are fierce. Maybe not this one. Weakling" He scoffed.
"This is inhumane" I cried, shaking my head
"Don't make me give you something harder than this." He held my chin, looking into my eyes
"You're so heartless!" I said.
"What did you say?" He frowned, squeezing my chin. "Maryann, help your friend pack this with your bare hands"
"No! I'll do it!" I yelled, crying more.
"That's what I thought" He smirked, letting my chin go. "10 minutes! It must be spotless clean. If I use my hand to feel the floor after 10 minutes and I get injured, you're dead."
"Yes sir" I nodded.
"Your time starts now. If you use broom, I'll know."
I looked at him with pure disdain, preparing my comeback for him.
Just wait and see what I'll do to you tomorrow, if I survive this.
