Romano's POV
"Bring this phone to me only when it's an important call" I said through gritted teeth, shoving the phone into Suka's chest.
"Yes Master!" Suka nodded curtly, shoving the phone into his pocket.
"Let's get this over with" I growled to myself, looking ahead.
Wait... What's that smell?
A feminine perfume lingered around the air, drawing me further into the room. I blinked continuously at the person who stood in front of me.
Jadelyn?
"Took you so long"
"How did you.... Oh!" Anger surged into me when I finally understood what was happening.
"You're not happy to see me?" Her eyes fell when it met mine. She could be sad for all I care.
I scoffed, walking close to her. "Where did you get that ... that deodorant from?" I pulled her into me, sniffing her hair. "Even your fucking hair smells like her"
She smiled at me, twirling her hair around her finger. "I thought I'd surprise you with my new collection"
"Bullshit." I gripped her forearm tightly. "Don't fucking lie to me"
Her eyes widened in fear and then darkened into something else. "I like how you manhandle me" She bit her lips
What the heck?
"You can't be serious" I shook my head, scoffing at her in disbelief. "Why is your hair like... Like that!"
"Like hers?" She smirked. "I decided that..."
"You'd never be her" I said through gritted teeth as I glared daggers at her.
Heck! She was making me remember Jadelyn so bad. For the past two days, I've tried not to think of how she's faring in the locked up room.
I feel so ... so terrible.
"But at least, I got you this close to me when I tried to imitate her" Stacey said, her tone serious
"You'd go into the bathroom and fucking wash up or call this lunch off" Eyeing her disgustingly, I said. "You have 15 minutes"
"I didn't..."
"Your time is ticking. You better find a way out." I yelled, cutting her off. "Just make sure you smell or look nothing like her!"
God damnit.
She scurried out of the room, crying out loud enough for me to hear. This is the kind of woman they want me to get married to?
So fucking weak!
"Master, it's about Jadelyn" Suka said, terror laced in his voice.
"Jadelyn?" My whole body was at alert.
"Yes, master. She's..."
"No. I don't want to hear it." I raised my hands up at him, stopping him halfway. "Go" I waved at him dismissively.
He opened his mouth, probably to protest but decided against it when his eyes met my hardened one.
I kept checking my time as I planned out how to tackle this whole situation and put it to an end once and for all.
"I'm back." Stacey said, taking a seat. Her eyes were all puffed out and red.
"Who's your father?" I went straight to the point, not wanting to waste much time here
She shifted uncomfortably in her seat. "My father is..."
"I want you to know that you're talking to the Don and If I find out that you're lying, it won't be good for both you and anyone who put you to it" I rested my hands on the table before clasping my fingers together.
She sighed, nodding at me in understanding. "Mr William Reeds"
"Doctor, you mean" I corrected, my eyes never leaving hers.
"I thought... I thought we were here to talk about our marriage" She said softly, playing with her fingers nervously.
"What's his relationship with my mother. She seems to root for you so much" I asked, ignoring whatever she had said
We both had two different goals coming here today and mine always supersedes. I have somewhere to be anyway.
In as much as I acted less bothered about Jadelyn's news, I was very worried deep down. The only reason i was this composed was because I knew she was locked up inside.
What if she had been kidnapped?
Hell, I'll fire the whole security team.
"Your ... Your mother?" She swallowed visibly. "I.. I don't know"
I titled my head, observing her closely. "What then are they hiding from me?"
"I don't know what Jadelyn told you about me but it's not true" Stacey spoke up immediately, shaking her head. I didn't know where the sweats came from but she was now sweating profusely
Jadelyn again.
"Jadelyn knows something?" I raised my eyebrow in confusion. She also had a confused look on her face.
At that point, she knew she had messed up and couldn't take it back. She groaned, throwing her head back in frustration. "Romano, I .. I don't know anything about .."
"What does Jadelyn know?" I sneered, standing up aggressively. "Tell me!" I slammed my hand on the table
"I don't know! I don't know, okay" Stacey yelled back. "Maybe you should ask your mother what she's hiding away from you. Who knows, it could be something grave."
The guts
I smirked, my demeanor still calm as ever. "Or maybe, I'd just torture your dad till the truth comes out. What do you think?" I stood in front of her, moving her hair from her face gently.
"Leave me dad out of this!" She yelled, glaring at me as she stood up. "All he does is what he's asked to do."
"Is he asked to sell you off to me for marriage?"
She swallowed visibly again as she avoided my eyes. "Answer me!" I yelled, holding her face still.
"Who knows?"
"You fucking pray to whatever you serve that this doesn't have to deal with blackmail or else.." Scoffing, I tightened my grip.
"Blackmail means your mother is quite as guilty and..."
"Shut up!" I screamed in her face. "The wedding is over. I'm done with you" I let go of her face harshly.
She scoffed painfully. "I hope you burn in hell!" With that, she pulled her bag from the table and left.
"Let her go!" I said to Suka who was about to go after her. "Keep a close eye on her and let me know when her Father is in town."
"Yes Master" Suka said, handing my phone back to me.
I will surely get to the bottom of this, Mother.
"Jadelyn knows something." I nodded, rushing out of the building and right into my car. I ordered the driver to take me home.
Once we got into the compound, I barged into my hand. The look on my guards faces when they saw me made my heart leap.
"Master" Dimitri started, when I opened the door to the room where Jadelyn was locked up.
"Where's she?" My eyes searched around for the petite woman.
"They left this" He handed a letter to me. I snatched it from him agitatedly, opening it.
My eyes twitched as I read the letter. I shook my head, fighting the urge to not tear it since I wasn't done reading
"No way!!!!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs, falling to the ground.
