"Please Romano"
I've been following Romano round the house, everything I've been saying falling on deaf ears
"What do you want, Jadelyn" Romano groaned, plopping down on the couch, his attention now on me.
"Finally!!!" I groaned equally, sitting close to him. I left a good distance between us
"What is it, Jadelyn. I'm kind of busy and I wouldn't want any disturbance" Romano glared at me. I was used to it so it didn't affect me one bit
"About Fiona..." I started
"No." He shook his head, not wanting to hear anymore from me
"You haven't even heard the rest" I yelled, throwing my hands up
"I know what you're going to say and no, I do not agree" He said, still shaking his head
"So you heard me?" I moved closer, touching his arm.
"Heard what?"
"Stop playing dumb!!!" I groaned loudly, throwing my head backward.
"Let me hear what you have to say then." He stared at me blankly, no emotion was expressed clearly on his face
"So I want to follow Fiona to do her job" His eyes darkened at my request, making me wish I hadn't said it out loud.
"Did Fiona put you up to this?" He asked calmly, his eyes boring into mine intensely.
I shook my head, "No. It's all me"
"Like you ever fucking blame someone else. It's always you" He rolled his eyes. "My answer is still the fucking same. Now shoo!"
"Don't shoo me! I'm not a fly" I glared at him.
"Are you not?" He raised his eyebrow at me
"What's that supposed to mean?" I folded my arms, shooting him a stern look
He didn't reply, he just went back to tapping away on his tab.
"Romano..."
"What do you think Fiona is? What do you think she works as?" He turned, throwing a bored stare my way.
"I know what she is and what she works as." I answered, smiling at him
"No, that's not true." He shook his head, giving a look that said he didn't believe me.
"She's a seductress. She's the one who gets information on high profile men." I explained
"And you still want to 'follow Fiona' " He made an air quote. It was quite funny but it wasn't a laughing time so I bit my cheek to stop me from laughing.
"I promise not to get into trouble!" I pouted at him
"No, Jadelyn. You always get yourself into trouble. That job is dangerous!" His voice rose up a bit, before he let out a deep breath. "You can't just wake up one bloody morning and decide to try out a dangerous job."
"Let's bet on something then" I brought out my hand, pushing it towards him. He looked at it skeptically.
"What are we betting on?"
"One mission. If I get into trouble, you can ban me from going out for how long you want. If I sail through successfully, you'll let me have my way more often" I smiled.
He scoffed, pushing my hand aside as he stood up. "You're insane"
He... He didn't just call me that!
Jumping up abruptly, I followed him to the balcony. "Wait! Hold on!"
The speed in which he used to turn back to face me, scared me a bit and also threw me off balance.
"Do you think you're in some barbie fairytale land?"
I wanted to ask him if he watched Barbie and how he knew about it but bit my tongue when I saw the way his nose flared in anger.
"No but...."
"No buts! You might get yourself killed. I don't want to talk about this. Allow Fiona do her job." With that, he turned away again.
"How about you train me for it. The house gets boring when y'all are gone and..."
"Then you fucking sleep!" He yelled
"For how long will I keep sleeping my life away, Romano" I fired back. He stopped in his track, not turning back though.
"You have a phone now. Do anything!" He said but then added, "anything that won't land you in trouble."
"You fucking set my phone in parental guidance mode, like I'm some fucking kid. So how am I supposed to do anything!" I yelled back, quite agitated.
Now that I say it out loud, this man sounds like a maniac.
"You're so ungrateful, you know that" He growled, turning towards me for the umpteenth time. He walked towards me, his icy glare directed at me. "How many times have I told you.... NOT TO FUCKING SWEAR AT ME?" He yelled in my face, holding my chin close to his face
"Well, I live with someone who swears so tell me why I wouldn't learn it" I said through gritted teeth.
"She's growing wings" He scoffed, letting my chin go. "You talk back now?"
"I.... I didn't talk back. I'm just letting you know that it's impossible not to learn how to swear, with you around" I explained calmly.
"Today's your day of grace. I forgive you" He nodded, dismissing me.
Although, I didn't want to be dismissed because we weren't done talking.
"We're not done talking" I pressed on, moving closer.
"I am done talking" He sneered.
"Fiona was taught. I can be taught too. Who knows, I might be of good use to you." I shrugged, folding my arms.
He stayed quiet, looking at me. I waited patiently for him to say something... Anything, but nothing came out of his mouth
"Ro..."
"Shut up." He said, raising his hand up. "All I've done is hear you talk and it's sickening"
"Well, save yourself and just give me what I want." It shouldn't be that hard.
"Can you kill?" He asked, walking up to me, closing the gap.
"What?"
"Can you pull a trigger at someone?" He asked calmly, his eyes shifting between mine.
I took a deep breath, at the same time I thought about the answer to give him.
"Yes, if the person deserves the death" I answered.
"Can you shoot anyone I tell you to shoot, even without giving you a reason?" He asked, his eyes not leaving mine.
My heart told me to just back off but I was just so stubborn. "Yes"
"Good." He said, bringing out something from his pocket. "Shoot me"
He chucked the gun in hand and directed it to his chest.
"What..."
"Don't be a coward and shoot me, Jadelyn!" He charged, pressing the gun into his chest. My eyes went wide, tears stung the corner of my eyes.
"Don't do this"
"I knew you were a fucking coward. Show me you're brave and shoot me!" He yelled in my face, his voice cutting through me.
I nodded, anger shot through my vein as I placed my hand on the trigger
