*Chapter 1: Fated Awakening*

The alarm pierced the silence, echoing through Ayla's room like a dire summons. A voice shouted downstairs, "Ayla, come down! Your wedding preparations await you!"

Ayla's heart sank, weighed down by the impending union. At 24, her life was being dictated by circumstance, not choice. Her family's struggling company, Everglow Enterprises, needed salvation. Her marriage to enigmatic Kaidren, CEO of Darkstone Industries, was the predetermined solution.

Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes. No input, no consultation. Just duty, the decision of her life was in the handz of her parents.

Ayla rose from bed, her gaze drifting to the window. Morning sunlight seemed dull, reflecting her mood, she could not help but smile, because she knew her peaceful days were over, but at that moment she realized she has never felt peace, she has always been pressure by her parents.

Her thoughts wandered to Kaidren. Wealthy, powerful and mysterious. The world whispered about his unparalleled business acumen and captivating charm. Yet, Ayla knew little about the man she'd soon call husband.

Resentment simmered within. Her parents' disdain was no secret. Her childhood heart condition had drained family resources. The costly treatments still lingered in their minds, fueling resentment.

"Ayla, hurry!" her mother's impatient voice echoed.

In the foyer, her family awaited, somber-faced. Her mother, father and siblings, all bearing mixed emotions.

"Ayla, today marks a new chapter," her father declared, voice tinged with determination and desperation. "Kaidren's influence revives our company."

Her mother's gaze held a calculating glint. "You're fortunate he accepted this arrangement. Your...frailty and frivolous fashion pursuits make you a liability."

Ayla's heart stung. Her love for design was dismissed as useless. Her sister, Nia, offered a sympathetic smile, a silent understanding.

As Ayla descended the stairs, reality's weight settled upon her. This marriage bound her to a stranger, sealing her fate.

Her parents' disapproval stemmed from the past. The medical bills, the constant worry. To them, Ayla was a financial burden, a fragile daughter better off married away.

"Ayla, don't disappoint Kaidren," her father warned. "Our family's future depends on this alliance."

The opulent staircase seemed to stretch before her like a pathway to destiny, one she didn't choose.
