Chapter 3 - A New Opportunity

Reo finished his college classes the next day and waited for his friend Lukas. A car stopped in front of the college gate, and four people were inside. One of them got out, saying he had work at the college. Just then, the other three noticed Reo, and Lukas arrived shortly after, asking if they had martial arts practice that day.

Reo replied, "No, today is a rest day. Did you forget?"

Suddenly, a group of students surrounded Reo and Lukas. "We'd really like it if Senior Reo could give us some pointers on martial arts." Reo glared at them, recognizing them as the lackeys of his classmate Oliver, who came from an elite warrior family. Elite warriors were second-level fighters with abnormal strength and speed.

Reo smirked, "I have no interest in giving advice to lackeys."

This angered Oliver's followers. They moved closer, "We just asked you for advice! Why are you being so arrogant?" Without hesitation, Reo threw a straightforward punch, taking two down immediately.

From the car, one of the occupants sighed, "Kids these days… I should stop them." Another urged him to wait, noticing the power behind Reo's punch. "Watch that kid…"

Reo and Lukas quickly overpowered Oliver's lackeys. After the scuffle, he turned to them, "Tell Oliver if he has a problem, he should come to me face-to-face." With that, he walked away with Lukas.

Later that evening during dinner, Reo's father asked, "Tomorrow is your final exam, right?" Reo nodded, and his father wished him good luck.

On exam day, Reo took his usual route to college but found construction blocking the way. With only twenty minutes left, he tried to find an alternate path but ran into heavy traffic and other delays. Finally, he arrived just to find the exam had started one minute ago. When he asked the teacher for permission to enter, he was met with strict rules denying him entry.

Dejected, Reo walked out of the college, feeling as though his goal of becoming a warrior had shattered. Without a college degree, he was ineligible for the warrior exam. He sighed, uncertain of what to do next.

Finding himself on the city wall, he gazed at the sunset when suddenly a notification popped up on his device. The following day, he arrived at a striking biomorphic skyscraper. The building was tall and slender, with an organic shape resembling a blooming flower or towering tree. Its dark glass facade reflected the city lights beautifully, creating a shimmering effect, while luminous blue lights at the top illuminated the night sky, suggesting a harmonious blend of nature and technology.

Reo recognized this as the guild building responsible for eliminating low-level monsters outside the city. The day before, he had received a notification: "Reo Wilson, from the Aspen team, can you spare a moment of your time? Come to the city guild building, room 74. We are waiting for you." Feeling this was his opportunity, Reo made his way to room 74, where he was greeted by five men.
