A very long time ago…
"Leave! Go away! Don't come back!"
"H-huh?"
"What a thick-face!"
"Vicenta, please hear me out. Can we discuss this like a civilized individual?"
"Civilized? Heh. Talk to my fist!"
A thwack is heard.
"Ouch! My love, why did you hurt your husband's beautiful face?"
My mother punched my father, striking him squarely between the eyes. As a result, he'll likely have black eyes by tomorrow.
Sometimes quarrels are inevitable especially in relationships but this is the first time I saw how my parents quarrel. This is also the first time I've realized that my father is a womanizer.
For everyone's sake, especially the welfare of my player father, I hide every object that can be used as weapons. Unfortunately, one still slips.
"You're unfaithful!"
A loud bang echoed as my mother hit my father with the caldron. It causes him to slightly lose his balance, but despite the blow, he remained standing which impressed me. This intense fight might just go to round 12 - stay tuned!
"Leave! Leave! Leave and never come back!"
"Let me explain for a secon-"
"Explain? Thick-face, I want you out of my sight and far away from Roots! Go to your mistress!"
Ekong and Vicenta the known Romeo and Juliet of our small village. What happened?
"What happened? Why does the sweetness turn sour? They once stood together against the world but now they're fighting like roosters in a cockfight!" murmured my neighbors
"My love, please don't say that! I am only handsome not a thick-face!"
"Shut up or else I'll cook your roosters!"
"No! Please don't do that! I'm begging you my love!"
Even though they seem so cringe some people still get jealous because of their sweetness. Sometimes the sweetness these two emit causes some ants to gather around them. Even though they're so corny no one can question that their love was real. What happened to the said realness?
"Vicenta, calm down! Don't hurt Ekong and his roosters!" Elizabeth begged.
Elizabeth? She is a resident of Riverside, a village near Roots and a part of Green Ville District. She is so divine! The prominent beauty of Riverside, no wonder why she managed to lure my father's heart.
My mother, after hearing Elizabeth's words and actually noticing her, can't help her boiling blood to hit Elizabeth with the caldron. Elizabeth was shocked and automatically after getting hit twice raised a yellow shield to protect herself from the caldron and my mother.
My mother was furious. She couldn't accept her caldron, which she bought online, couldn't destroy the Grimony's solar shield.
"Get rid of this shield! Face me! You want trouble right?" my mother was furious but Elizabeth shook her head.
Every time the caldron hits the shield it only causes ripples due to the impact much like still water getting ripples when something drops.
When my father actually man up a bit, realizing that this drama must be put to a halt, he quickly tried stopping my mother but it only causes the caldron to hit him again. Elizabeth after witnessing such a scene unconsciously loses her shield and when my mother sees the opportunity she quickly directs the attack to the startled Elizabeth. The second my mother was about to re-hit Elizabeth I quickly stole the caldron from her grip.
"Ish! My son! Give it to me!" she plead but I refuse. I don't like seeing my mother this way. This is not so her.
When my mother accepted that I will never give her the caldron she exhales deeply and with irritation she grabs Elizabeth's blond hair causing the latter to yelp due to pain and shock. The people around can only watch while my father scoots away like a coward he is.
"Mom! Elizabeth! Stop it!" I urge them with my plea however I wasn't heard because the rage inside their heart transpire.
"Let go of me!" Elizabeth demanded. But when my mother refused, Elizabeth swiftly countered, grasping her hair and triggering a pained and enrage cry.
"You female dog! Let go of me!" commanded my mother
"No! You let go of me first!" Elizabeth replied.
The pride was too high none of them want to humble themselves.
"I said, let me go!"
"Argh! You let me go first!"
"Ouch! Do you really want to be bald?"
"Shut up!"
"You shut up! Home wrecker! Lucky you, you have smooth hair! What's your conditioner?"
"And you think I'll tell you? NEVER!"
"Ah? Never? Never your face! You deserve this!" my mother pulled her hair more.
"AAAHHH! Help! Ouch! Let me go!"
The roots of this mayhem are Ekong, my father, a driver, a carpenter, and a security guard. The two women who fight for him are Elizabeth Grimony, a solar extraordinary skill user from River Side, and my mother Vicenta, the legal wife.
The cat fighting rolled to our yard causing the bystanders and neighbors to witness such violence. Some filmed them and some tried to call the Formes. I know for myself, the unemployed neighbors, no hurt feelings, are secretly betting who will win this fuzz.
The violence is the result of betrayal and pain from being betrayed. Such vulnerable hearts are fighting because of the so-called love.
When I thought this fight will be forever some shimmer of light causes the fight attention to redirect when my mother was hit and was shove to the balcony. It shock the masses. I can't believe my eyes, my own mother is hit and is hurt. I quickly ran to her and help her stand. I angrily turn to the caster and to my raging heartbeat it's the daughter of Elizabeth.
On her palm is a remnant of her petty crime, a yellow glow. I can't believe she can cast such a powerful attack and be able to harm my mother without a second thought?
Murmurings spread around the corner while Elizabeth with gritted teeth and furrowed brow marches to her daughter and reprimanded her.
"Dy! What on earth? Why did you attack Vicenta?" she was furious.
Her daughter is named Dy? I titled my head wondering, why is the demon spelled demon instead of Dymon?
"That pig deserves it!" Dy yelled causing me to get angrier and causing her mother to get furious. As a result she received a spank from her own mother because of her misbehavior.
"It's not right! Hurting people isn't right and not ethical!"
"But, she hurt you first! I did what must be done! I only help you!" she argue
While they're arguing I already help my mother to stand. Elizabeth noticing my mother quickly calmed herself. Her palms glow and when she's about to walk towards us my mother's high pitch disapproval stops her track.
"Just what the hell do you plan to do?"
"Don't worry. I will only heal you"
"Heal me? What are you a quack doctor?" my mother half believes and mocks her. "I don't need your help! Get your imp child and your excuse of a self outta here!"
"Imp what? For your information, I am prettier than you! You have no right to call me an imp when your image is an excuse of a face!" Dy yelled causing everyone to gasp.
I look immediately at my mother's shock face and then to Dy's. "Shut up! Don't call my mother ugly!" I ordered yet she only smirks at me.
"You're the only one who calls her ugl-OUCH! WHAT THE F? WHY DID YOU HIT ME, MOTHER?"
Before she can finish her sentence her mother cut it. "Silence! It's not a good idea to use Exskill to harm people!"
"But-"
"No buts!"
In her eyes I can see betrayal, "I helped you yet you sided with them? How could you?" she yelled crying before she went away running she sent me a glare and then her eyes went down causing me to irk my eyebrows.
"Dy! Come back! Hey!" her mother ran after her.
"That's right! Leave and do not come back!" my mother was angry as she sent a glare to the Grimony.
"What a scene" I murmured to myself then I suddenly flinched and when I looked down my eyes went wide when I saw my palms burning.
To be continued….
