(Lina)
The sound of laughter came down the corridor as I made my way toward Clara's room. They'd been my closest companions in the castle, and as much as I appreciated Kieran trying to keep me stress-free, I found more comfort in talking to them. They always managed to make me smile, no matter what.
Pushing the door open, I found Mira and Clara sitting cross-legged on the floor, a pile of fabrics between them. Mira was holding up a piece of lace, inspecting it carefully, while Clara giggled at something she'd said. The sight made me smile.
"There's our princess," Mira teased, looking up as I walked in.
"Don't call me that," I said, laughing as I sat down with them. "You know it sounds weird coming from you."
"Sorry, Princess Isabella," Clara said, grinning.
I rolled my eyes, but I couldn't help the warmth that spread through me. They were teasing, but I knew they were genuinely happy for me.
