(Nicholas)
I sat at the small wooden table, staring at the letter that had arrived earlier that day. My parents' familiar seal stood out on the envelope, making my stomach churn.
I wasn't sure I wanted to read what they had to say. They hadn't contacted me much since I left Rivendale, even when I sent them all those letters. I wasn't even sure if they cared about what had happened to me.
But now, out of the blue, they'd written. I tore the envelope open and began reading.
------------------------------
My Dearest Nicholas,
Your father and I have been thinking about you nonstop. We know the past weeks have been difficult for you, and we know you've made mistakes. But you're still our son, and no matter what anyone says, you are the rightful prince of Rivendale.
