(Lina)
I opened my eyes slowly, feeling the soreness in my body from yesterday's events. I hadn't expected to sleep so well after facing the court, revealing the recording, and standing my ground.
The bruise on my neck throbbed as I moved to sit up, a reminder of what Nicholas had done. But today was a new day, and I was still standing. And no matter how much he tried to push me down, I wasn't about to break.
After pulling on a turtleneck to hide the mark on my neck, I slipped into a pair of jeans, knowing I'd need to keep things low-key.
The palace might be my home, but it wasn't exactly a safe space with Nicholas and Elara watching my every move. This turtleneck would do the trick. No one needed to know what had happened, not unless I wanted them to. At least, that was the plan.
