"What did you do to this girl in broad daylight!?" The young man pointed a knife at Clover and shouted, and a dozen people on the boat behind him aimed guns at Clover.
This boy didn't look very old—he seemed to be about the same age as Yoru, around sixteen or seventeen… but his spirit was on par with Clover's.
"He's joking!" Yoru stood up in front of Clover and said firmly. Though the guy looked serious just now, Yoru could sense he was only messing around. He didn't seem like a bad person.
The young man looked thoroughly confused...
"Master Sakuta! Stop it!" At that moment, a middle-aged man on the boat called out, "This is Clover Benson, who has a bounty of 28 million!"
"Huh!?" Sakuta's hand trembled, and the knife fell to the deck. The crew's hands shook as well; even though 28 million isn't significant on the Grand Line, it's still a formidable amount to them. They dared not provoke him!
"I'm sorry!" Sakuta apologized with a deep ninety-degree bow to Clover.
Clover kicked the knife off the ground, grabbed it, and held it to Sakuta's neck. "Just saying sorry is enough for messing with me?"
"This… this… You're very generous, please forgive Master Sakuta!" the middle-aged man pleaded. "We're willing to pay you one million as compensation!"
"One million? Are you beggars?" Clover sneered, glancing at the middle-aged man. Hancock's travel expenses alone were 20 million.
"Five… five million, how about that?" the man stammered, thinking to himself, If only the family's fighters were here, we'd take you down!
"Too little." Clover shook his head.
"Ten million! That's really all we have in cash right now…" The man gritted his teeth.
"Fine." Clover nodded reluctantly. "Since you seem sincere in admitting your mistakes, I'll let you off this time. Pay up, and we'll call it even." He tapped Sakuta's shoulder with the back of the knife.
"Quickly, get the money!" The middle-aged man signaled someone to bring the money, which they handed to Clover respectfully. Clover smiled as he let Sakuta go, and the two quickly scurried back to their boat.
"Hey, don't want your knife?" Clover tossed it, and it landed right in front of Sakuta. "Ah!"
Sakuta let out a scream as the knife pierced his foot! Blood instantly began to flow.
"That's a lesson for meddling. Leave now, or I'll sink your boat if I change my mind." Clover shouted at them.
"You… you… humph!" The middle-aged man gritted his teeth in frustration, then had someone carry Sakuta into the cabin for treatment as the ship hurriedly sailed away.
"Kazuki-san! Look after him! Someone must look after him!"
Sakuta lay on the bed, grimacing from the pain in his foot. He gripped Kazuki's arm tightly.
Originally, the 10 million was nothing—just pocket change—but after the injury, Sakuta wasn't going to let this slide.
"Don't worry, Master. We'll head back and call for reinforcements!"
Kazuki, the middle-aged man, was the housekeeper of Sakuta's family. He'd planned to go fishing with Sakuta today, but he hadn't expected Sakuta to get involved after seeing a girl he thought needed rescuing.
Kazuki had thought the man on the boat looked familiar; only after seeing the wanted poster did he realize it was a notorious pirate—but by then, it was too late.
"Wait." At that moment, Clover reappeared, boarding the ship and walking into the cabin.
Everyone raised their guns and aimed at him again.
"What do you want now…" Kazuki asked warily.
"Do you know about Matea Island?" Clover asked.
Kazuki and Sakuta exchanged glances, and Sakuta gave a slight nod.
"I know," Kazuki replied.
"Which direction is it? Do you have an Eternal Pose?" Clover asked directly.
Kazuki nodded, pulling an Eternal Pose from the drawer and handing it to Clover, who was heading to Matea Island.
"Thanks." Clover took the Eternal Pose and left calmly, leaving the crew sweating in fear.
"That guy's heading to Matea Island. What a coincidence," Sakuta muttered after Clover left. Matea Island
