Chapter 222 - Chapter 217: Elysia, Where Is She?

"Hmm, of course I know that. But I seem to have too many wishes~"

Elysia closed her eyes, clasped her hands together, and made a sincere wish before blowing out the candle, plunging the room into darkness.

When Fu Lin turned the lights back on, he was suddenly holding a bottle of red wine in his hand. He raised it with a cheerful gesture and called out,

"My beautiful ladies, how can we celebrate without some wine? Let's have a drink! This is a globally limited edition, you know!"

Elysia looked at the two people who had fallen asleep on the table, reached out to gently stroke Fu Lin's cheek, and remained silent for a long time before standing up and walking towards the door.

"Mei and Fu Lin have fallen asleep. What exactly was that mist? I also need to find a way to open the path to the island. And tomorrow morning, I have to give Mei a surprise~"

Leaning against the railing, Elysia gazed at the dazzling yet lonely starry sky and murmured to herself,

"Elysia, your... Fu Lin, I met him. I also gave him the crystal flower. Are you satisfied now?"

Fu Lin yawned and walked out of the room, looking at Elysia's lonely figure. He silently approached her, staring at her without saying a word.

"Fu Lin?"

"Mm."

"Why are you awake?"

"I'm a light sleeper. I woke up when I heard the door close. I was a little worried, so I came out to check."

"Haha... This is my memory space. What danger could there be? Besides, I'm very strong."

"I hope so."

"I have things to take care of, so I won't keep you company, Fu Lin. Remember to tell Mei that I'll be waiting for her at the garden square tomorrow morning."

"Fu Lin, don't secretly follow me~"

With that, Elysia waved goodbye and disappeared into the night, leaving Fu Lin standing there.

"Elysia, see you tomorrow morning... I hope you'll be safe."

Fu Lin looked in the direction Elysia had left, and a crystal flower appeared in his palm. He sighed softly and slowly walked back to his room.

The night passed in the blink of an eye—

As the first rays of sunlight shone in, Mei, still half-asleep, slowly opened her eyes. She held her forehead, her face still carrying a hint of drunkenness.

She slowly stood up, and the thin silk blanket on her body slipped to the floor.

At that moment, Fu Lin pushed the door open and entered. Seeing Mei's jade-like skin, his face turned red. He quickly closed the door and said, "Mei, you're awake... Ahem, I'll come back later. You should get dressed first."

Mei, seeing Fu Lin's embarrassed reaction, scratched her head in a daze. Then, when she caught sight of herself in the mirror, her face instantly turned as red as a boiling kettle.

'Hiss~ What happened last night? Did I... do something to Fu Lin while drunk?'

As a storm of thoughts whirled in her mind, Mei carefully examined every part of her body but found no "marks," which left her feeling slightly disappointed.

"I'm ready. You can come in now, Fu Lin."

Hearing Mei's voice, Fu Lin finally re-entered the room. Seeing Mei sitting upright and composed, he asked, "Mei, how do you feel now?"

"Huh? A little dizzy..." Mei, having recovered from her embarrassment, whispered, "Um... my clothes..."

Afraid of being misunderstood, Fu Lin quickly explained, "Hua changed them for you. She happened to pass by last night, so I called her in to help."

Hua appeared at the door and placed a tray of tea by the bedside. "Mei, you're awake. I made some tea—it should help with the hangover."

"Hua? Thank you... I feel much better now."

Mei picked up the tea, gently blew away the wisps of steam, and took a small sip.

"Elysia... where is she?"

Fu Lin fell silent for a moment before walking toward the door. "...She said she had a surprise for you. She's waiting at the central garden square."

Mei followed Fu Lin out of the room. Hearing the distant sounds of people chatting and laughing, she pictured Elysia's smiling face in her mind. "That's just like her."

Hua also stepped out of the room and, after hearing their conversation, nodded in farewell. "Since you two have things to do, I'll take my leave. Mei, and Fu Lin."

Fu Lin nodded and waved at Hua. "Hua, thanks for your help last night."

....

Looking at the empty garden, Elysia's figure was nowhere to be seen, just as Fu Lin had expected. Perhaps...

"Elysia... doesn't seem to be here yet."

Mei glanced at Fu Lin suspiciously. Could it be that Fu Lin just wanted to ask me out alone but didn't know how to say it, so he used Elysia as an excuse?

Fu Lin knew that Elysia wouldn't be coming, but he didn't plan to tell Mei directly. Instead, he gently said,

"...Elysia didn't give me a specific time. Maybe we arrived a little early. Why don't we take a walk and enjoy the scenery?"

"Maybe Elysia will come in a little while."

Hearing Fu Lin's words, Mei's mind began to overanalyze and interpret things in her own way...
