Far to the west of the Central Continent, an island lay hidden beneath a dense veil of magical energy, rendering it invisible to the outside world.
This island was no ordinary place, it was shrouded in mystery and cloaked in an ominous aura. Its forests were eerie and foreboding, with towering trees that stretched skyward, their gnarled branches casting endless shadows.
Within this dark expanse stood a castle, its design stark and imposing. Built entirely of stone, the structure seemed as old as the island itself, its walls weathered but unyielding, with intricate carvings hinting at forgotten civilizations.
A shadowy figure emerged from the forest and approached the castle gates, its form shifting and flickering as though it were part of the darkness itself.
The gate creaked open without touch, and the figure glided inside, stepping into a grand hallway. The space was immense, with a vaulted ceiling that seemed to reach the heavens. Along either side of the hallway were twelve chairs, each carved from the same ancient stone but decorated with unique and majestic designs.
These were no ordinary seats, they were thrones of power, radiating an aura that hinted at the formidable beings who sat upon them.
At the far end of the hall stood three larger thrones, grander than the rest, commanding attention. Its design exuding authority and menace. This throne, along with another beside it, remained empty, which had a dragon insignia engraved on it..
The rest of the chairs were occupied, though the occupants were obscured by shadows, their forms mere silhouettes.
The atmosphere was tense, as though the castle itself was alive, waiting.
The shadowy messenger moved to the center of the room, bowing deeply. Its voice was low and wavering as it spoke.
"All preparations have been made. We await your command… but…"
As the messenger started stuttering the sentence, before it could be completed, a crack of lightning struck the ground just inches away from where the messenger stood. The sudden flash illuminated the hall briefly, revealing glimpses of the imposing figures seated on the thrones. A voice, sharp and commanding, echoed through the chamber.
"Speak fast. We don't have all day."
The messenger flinched but continued, its tone more urgent.
"We've confirmed the Phoenix Princess's presence in Bolivia City. However, her trace disappeared shortly after."
Having delivered the message, the shadowy figure bowed again and disappeared into the floor, merging seamlessly with the darkness.
The silence that followed was oppressive until the commanding voice spoke again, its tone laced with intrigue.
"For the Phoenix Princess to descend into the human realm…"
Another silhouette, its voice calm and calculating, interjected.
"She must have visited her disciple. The one who was joining the academy this year."
"And yet," a girlish voice of another silhouette added, filled with curiosity,
"there's talk of a young prodigy at the academy. One whose performance has surprised even the heads of the major clans. Intriguing, isn't it?"
A guttural voice broke through, its impatience palpable.
"Enough! Let's begin the meeting already."

Meanwhile, within the lively streets of Bolivia City, the day began with a calm buzz. Inside the cozy inn where Katherine and her group were staying, the atmosphere was vastly different. Gathered around a large wooden table for breakfast, the group sat in silence, each lost in their own thoughts. Katherine, ever perceptive, decided to break the quiet.
"Xavier," she began gently,
"are you alright?"
Her younger brother looked up, his expression thoughtful.
"I'm fine," he replied after a pause.
"I've realized I have a long way to go before I'm strong enough to protect you, sister. But I'll train harder and become stronger. I won't lose again."
Ray, who had been quietly observing, glanced at Xavier. He remembered the younger Livia sibling's battle vividly and decided to share his perspective.
"Your loss wasn't because you were weak," Ray said, his tone calm but firm.
"Your sword couldn't handle the energy you were channeling during the fight."
Both Katherine and Xavier turned to him, their curiosity piqued. thinking and regretting why he ever talked...he sighed and elaborated,
"You use hail, cold winds, and storm, tropical winds as far as I know," he explained, his analytical tone cutting through the room.
"The issue isn't just your technique, it's your harmony. Your elements share similar foundations, but you're not letting them work together. Find the balance between them, and you'll create something uniquely your own."
He gestured to Xavier's broken sword, still sheathed in his scabbard, just the hilt remained though...
"As for the weapon, it's too slender to withstand the storm's energy. You need something heavier, more thick and edgy, something that can channel your power without breaking."
Ray stopped abruptly, realizing he had said more than intended. He leaned back in his chair, adding dismissively,
"That's all I'll say. The rest is up to you."
Xavier absorbed the information, his eyes lighting up as he began to piece together Ray's insights. His admiration for Ray's observation and details of his prowess from single battle aside, his analytical skill was something else. After a moment, he asked,
"Do you mean like how Lily Dragonborne fuses her elements using her trait, Fusion? How can I do that?"
Ray shook his head.
"That's impossible unless you have a trait like hers. What I'm talking about is entirely different. Think harder."
Katherine, who had been watching the exchange with a gentle smile, She had finally come to open up Ray a bit, she finally spoke.
"Ray, you have a remarkable way of explaining things."
Ray scratched the back of his head, slightly embarrassed by the compliment.
"It's nothing," he muttered, standing abruptly.
"I'll be in my room if anyone needs me, I am training now so unless necessary don't bother me."
As he left, Katherine's gaze lingered on him, her thoughts warm. The boy who had once been distant and guarded was slowly revealing a side of himself that was thoughtful, insightful, and caring in his own way.

Back in his room, Ray sat cross-legged on the floor, surrounded by a soft glow of silver energy and mana. His mind replayed the events of the previous day, particularly Jake's unknown Powers and weapon, Boliver's magic, Lily's fusion...it piqued his curiosity. Determined to uncover its nature, he began experimenting,...
