"This place.. This is.. Hell." Ten year-old Ryujiro Kurogane was watching his home burn and his parents dying in front of him. Japan, 1868. The Edo Period. The allied forces of USA, Spain, United Kingdom, France and some other countries declared war on Japan.Â
"Hey kid. leave this place if you don't wanna die. This is war." A Samurai said this to Ryujiro while he was crying. An American cowboy said: "We will burn them in the name of Yaztahruis! Don't stop!"
The cowboy who said this was suddenly shot by his own captain, James Liesel (36 year old).
His other comrades were shocked to see this. One of them asked, "Captain James. Why did you do this!?"
James: "You didn't hear what he said, right?"
-"Uhh.. He said something like 'In the name of Y-"
James shot him too and asked the others if they remember what he said or not. When they denied just because they didn't want to die, James killed all seven of them.
"Loyalty and pride is more important than the life of my comrades. Hmm.. May your souls rest in peace". James said casually.
The British captain, Roderick Blackwood (41 year old) said with a calm smile: "Oh James. It was not a big deal. You didn't have to kill your own comrades". James replied that it was a matter of pride, while lighting up a cigar.
On the other side, the Spanish captain, Rafael Castillo (21 year old) said, "This shit is so boring. Atleast I was happy at home. Those motherfucking Samurai. They think they will survive from the orders of our Lord.
Meanwhile the French captain, Vincent Beaufort (30 year old) came to Ryujiro who was crying.
"Hey kid. Did your parents die?".
Ryujiro didn't understand because Vincent was speaking French.
Vincent: "Oh I see. I'm so dumb. You're Japanese. Well whatever".
Vincent picked up Ryujiro and threw him in a safe place where the threats of war didn't reach.
"You're safe here. I won't kill you because you're just a kid".
Vincent left and headed to battle while Ryujiro was watching him go away.
Vincent: "The truth is.. I can't see innocent souls die in a war. What is Yaztahruis thinking.. I think he has a grudge against the Japanese and the Samurai especially. But there's no reason for me to fight. They're not my enemies. To be honest.. I haven't killed anybody since this war started. I'm just giving orders to my soldiers. I hope nobody notices".
Ryujiro was broken and he was crying in that small shelter.
He was remembering his master, Kenshin. Who once said to Ryujiro: "If your close ones die loving you. Don't cry. Be happy that they existed and made your life better, Ryujiro".
-"I'm sorry, Master.. I can't stop crying.. I want to fight but I'm afraid. I'm sorry.. I'm so sorry". The war ended after 2 days. Ryujiro was still in the shelter. Hungry and thirsty. When he came out, he couldn't walk properly.
"Hey... do you have.. something you can give me.. I'm thirsty. Please.. give me.. water". Ryujiro requested to a man who was standing there.
He was the Shogun of Japan at that time, Tokugawa Yoshinobu (31 year old).
He said: "Hey kid. Don't you know what happened? I gave up.
I gave up to save the lives of the innocent people of my country. They were about to kill every single Samurai. But I made a deal with them. They just wanted to kill the Samurai, and not the ordinary people. Everyone who survived and used to be a Samurai will be an ordinary person. And will never fight again.
The age of the Samurai.. has come to an end".
7 years have passed since that day.
A big, fat guy was walking in stress after he lost a bet.
"Oh man, what a disgusting day!"
He saw someone wearing a big cape covering all of his body and face.
"Hey, you! I'm angry. I want to humiliate someone. Take this!!"
He tries to punch him.
The guy with the cape dodges his punch and hits him in the stomach, knocking him out.
"Wh-.. Who the fuck are you!!?"
He answers "I am.. the last Samurai.. Hidden in the shadows. Well.. I think I should say that I'm... A terrorist".
He horizontally cuts the fat guy in half by drawing his Katana.
"I.. am Ryujiro Kurogane.
The one who will change everything".
