Chereads / The Time-Wrapped Puppeteer Butler / Chapter 2 - Prologue (2) The Next Life?

Chapter 2 - Prologue (2) The Next Life?

"You have died, Elias Vesper. You've lived a life of servitude and retained your chastity throughout your life. And those patience, will indeed, responded by the heavens," The world that is both ethereal and melodious resounded.

The sun shone warmly in the serene garden, with birds chirping in a harmonic chorus and flowers blooming in all possible shades of pink and purple.

More like, when earth turned into a crystal world but have flowers on top of it, yes, that is this world.

But Elias, as always, was impeccably dressed in his butler uniform, a classic black suit that seemed to almost glow under the sunlight.

He knelt elegantly before the great beauty that is the radiant goddess, who sat comfortably under a canopy of intertwined branches, shading her from the direct sun. The entire setting felt like a dream—an ethereal paradise, especially when compared to the dark, cramped confines of his previous life.

"Indeed. I guess I'm being responded by the heavens now all to meet you. This is for you, my lady," Elias said, presenting a freshly brewed cup of tea on a polished silver platter. He kept his posture perfectly straight, his expression impeccably composed, as though this was the most ordinary thing in the world.

No panic.

No surprise.

Just pure joy.

Of looking such a big-breasted beauty that he could serve.

The goddess smiled, her beauty almost blinding as she took the cup from him. She was unlike anything Elias had seen in his former life—her skin shimmered in soft gold hues, her hair flowed like an endless waterfall of silver, and her eyes shone like twin galaxies. She radiated divinity, and Elias couldn't help but feel genuine awe.

Luckily, he has acquired the skill of controlling his towering thing, or if he didn't, he would have make a tent on his pants and got obliterated by the goddess herself.

"Thank you, Elias," the goddess said, her voice melodic. She took a small sip, closing her eyes for a moment of pure bliss.

"This is… simply wonderful."

"I live only to serve, my goddess," Elias replied, bowing his head, though his lips twitched upward in amusement.

The goddess took another sip, savoring the taste.

It was the kind of reaction Elias rarely saw back in his old life.

The wretched lady he had served wouldn't know the difference between a cup of finely brewed tea and dishwater.

The thought of her grotesque visage flashed briefly through his mind, but he quickly dismissed it. This was a different world entirely—he had left all that behind.

As the goddess continued to enjoy her tea, Elias decided it was time for another surprise.

He snapped his fingers, and with a small burst of magic, a beautiful instant cake appeared before them, sitting atop a small stand with a flickering candle on top. The goddess blinked, startled, before her lips curved into an amused smile.

"A cake as well? You do know how to please a goddess," she said, her eyes twinkling.

"It's a small token of my appreciation for having such a lovely deity grace me with her presence," Elias said, placing the cake in front of her.

The goddess giggled—a sound like wind chimes swaying in a gentle breeze.

"You certainly know how to flatter, don't you?"

Elias simply smiled, watching as she cut herself a slice of the cake and took a bite. Her eyes widened in delight, and she let out a sigh of contentment.

"Divine," she said, her gaze locking with Elias's.

You are the divine one, my goddess. Oh ugliness truly is a sin. If the goddess is such a beauty, then that ugly pig that ugliness stems to its core must be the goddess of hell.

"Should I lick your foot, my goddess, or perhaps give you a full-body massage?" Elias suggested, his voice smooth, his lips pulling into a teasing smile. There was humor in his eyes, a sharp wit behind his words.

The goddess raised an elegant eyebrow, then flicked her wrist. Suddenly, Elias found himself seated back in his chair, his voice silenced by a gentle force.

"Enough of your jokes, Elias," she said, her eyes twinkling with amusement.

"You are quite the character."

Elias, despite being rendered momentarily mute as if he's in an online meeting, kept his smirk. He enjoyed the banter, the lightheartedness—it was such a drastic change from the suffocating demands of his past life. Here, his service felt more meaningful, more rewarding, even if the goddess seemed to have her own plans for him.

The goddess set her cup of tea aside, her smile turning more affectionate as she regarded Elias. She spoke softly, as though sharing a secret.

"Elias, you have served me well, and for that, I owe you something far more significant than just a comfortable afterlife."

Elias tilted his head, his curiosity piqued.

"A reward beyond this garden?" he asked, a spark of genuine interest flickering in his eyes.

"Indeed," the goddess replied.

"I am giving you a second chance at life, Elias. Not just any life, but one where your talents and abilities will be put to their greatest use. It's actually your destiny to begin with, but I guess I'm going to give you another gift as well,"

Elias raised an eyebrow, his gaze intrigued.

"Reincarnation? Well, as long as I'm not going back to serving pigs, I'm intrigued," he said, his voice dripping with a dry humor that elicited a soft laugh from the goddess.

She nodded, her eyes shimmering with amusement.

"No pigs, Elias. You will be serving people worthy of your skills—greatly beautiful people that will mesmerize you."

"People?" Elias leaned forward, a slight smirk tugging at his lips.

"Not just one person?"

The goddess nodded, her gaze turning serious for a moment.

"Yes. Not just one, but several. You see, you will be entrusted with assisting a group of very special individuals. Their survival is critical to the future of their world."

Elias's interest only deepened.

"Beautiful people... And important, you say?" he mused, a hint of excitement creeping into his voice.

The thought of serving masters who were genuinely worthy, and perhaps even charming, sounded like the perfect role for him.

"They're not men, aren't they?" Elias crosschecked.

"Of course. Not. They are beautiful women," The goddess replied with a smile.

"They are powerful, beautiful, and essential to the world's balance," the goddess continued.

"They will face many challenges, Elias—challenges that threaten not only their survival but the survival of their entire world. I need you to guide them, to serve them, and to help them become the leaders they are destined to be."

Elias nodded, a glimmer of excitement in his eyes. This sounded like the opportunity of a lifetime—the kind of service that would give him both purpose and fulfillment. Plus, if they were truly beautiful, as the goddess said, this would be a welcome upgrade from his previous "master."

"I accept," he said, his voice filled with conviction.

"I will serve them with everything I have."

The goddess smiled, her eyes softening. "I knew you would, Elias."

The goddess rose from her seat, her flowing robes shimmering in the garden's soft light. She looked at Elias with an almost maternal affection, her voice gentle as she spoke.

"Before I send you off, I must warn you, Elias," she began, her expression turning serious.

"These new masters of yours may be beautiful and powerful, but they are also facing immense dangers. The world they live in is on the brink of chaos. They will need more than just a butler—they will need a guide, a protector, someone to help them become the leaders they are meant to be."

Elias nodded, though a part of his mind was still replaying the words "beautiful people." It seemed the goddess was entrusting him with a task far greater than anything he'd faced before, but Elias found himself more excited than daunted.

"I will make sure they are served, protected, and guided," Elias promised, bowing slightly.

"As long they are not a pig,"

The goddess smiled, her eyes softening. She raised her hand, and a warm, golden light enveloped Elias, blurring the edges of his vision.

"Then go, Elias. Serve them well," she said, her voice echoing in his ears as everything around him began to fade away.

The serene garden, the flowers, the gentle breeze—all of it disappeared, replaced by an overwhelming brightness. Elias felt his body change, as if it was being pulled apart and reassembled, transformed for his new life.

____

Elias's senses slowly returned, the overwhelming brightness fading away to reveal something new. He found himself in a lush, wooden house, the scent of herbs and fresh flowers filling his nose. It was cozy, sunlight streaming in through an open window, casting a warm glow over everything.

Before him stood a woman—no, more like a queen. She had long, auburn hair that fell in thick waves down her back, her figure adorned in an elegant gown of crimson and gold that exuded regality. Her eyes were a striking emerald green, sharp with intelligence and authority, yet softened by a hint of curiosity.

Elias didn't even need to think. He immediately knelt, bowing his head, his voice filled with reverence and devotion.

"My lady," he began, his voice steady and confident, "I am Elias Vesper, at your service. It would be my honor to serve you as your butler, with all my abilities."

He expected a gentle word, perhaps a smile, or even a nod of acceptance.

But.

What he received, however, was a swift, powerful roundhouse kick to the chest.

"Guh!!"

Elias was thrown backward, his body slamming into the wooden floor with a resounding thud. He groaned, blinking in confusion as he looked up at the woman, who stood over him, her expression filled with a mix of irritation and exasperation.

"You think I need a butler?" she snapped, her eyes flashing with annoyance.

"Get up, you fool. Just where the hell did you came from?"
